I recently tried to make a character here. First, upon logging in, I didn't get so much as a hello from anybody. I figured ok, people are busy and don't have time to greet new people, and went into CG. I finished CG and the +job has sat completely untouched for 5 days (and counting). Not a 'we're working on this' or anything.
So... looks like I will not be playing here.
I am highly sorry that this occurred, and I will look into what made this happen. I understand I cannot undo what occurred but I can attempt to not make it happen again.
Yeah, I had a like experience with Reno for sometime. I kept thinking it was just me
Anyone know of a mu* that runs a little like tabletop (events, plot) while also having a few people that like to RP around said events and plot along with just basic RP scenarios?
With what've seen and granted it could be the time constraints that my time has been under, it seems like we almost need events to be the draw to make sure people are logged on to have "things" happen to RP about. I mean chilling out in a coffee shop is alright but as a vampire/werewolf/splat it'd be nice to have something to do related to that splat and the XP investment that comes with it.

You might pull off a similar effect with like minded players at any place that allows player to run stories with any level of import.
-
AS a note I'm playing a character currently investigating a murder of an NPC that was connected to the VII, and have been actively trying to bring people in. Currently I'm really looking for someone with computer skills.

Sadly, sometimes stuff just gets mishandled because A thinks B is handling something, and B thinks C is doing it, while C thinks A is doing it. Yeah, app-waiting sucks, but I wouldn't give up over that if you're actually looking for somewhere to play.
Slightly related --despite my only being back briefly, Reno seems oddly quiet (channel-wise, and that's not necessarily a bad thing) for a MU its size, but when people do talk, they seem friendly enough.
-
I already mentioned this elsewhere but I found Reno pretty dead - I have been told Werewolf is more active than Vampire (in fact, just after approval someone went 'oh cool a vampire I haven't seen one of those before') sooo, take from that what you will.
-
Saying: "Oh this place is dead" doesn't really help when people are trying to promote activity. Sure Reno doesn't have TR level activity (when TR was active), but it isn't really dead.
As I just mentioned, there's stuff I've been trying to get folks into just there aren't many vamps to get into it.
-
Yeah, I'm going to go ahead and agree with @Cobaltasaurus. But I've said this before, and I think I did so very very early in this very same thread. If you're going to drag the place down, make a thread in The Hog Pit; don't take their advertising thread and fill it with a bunch of whining because you dropped in during a time of low activity or people didn't pay attention to you enough, regardless of the legitimacy of your complaint.
-
I don't find Reno /super/ active but I do find @tragedyjones and his staff trying pretty hard to encourage activity. It's a good enough reason for me to hang around. I also /strongly/ base what places I go to on whether I find staff and players enjoyable to be around.
-
I think every game can be more active. I think every game can do more. But I think passing the buck rather than staking a claim and trying to have fun around it is a poor excuse - and an overused one. I admire any game that keeps trying, and I admire the people who keep trying too. Try not to look so hard for faults in every direction.

Who're you playing again? I'll come and sexually harass you with Max.

I gave the game a second chance because @Tempest does have a point and I like to give people the benefit of the doubt. I was pleasantly surprised.
Once approved, I was able to find a scene right away (hell, it was larger than I would have liked). I've seen others asking for RP on the public channel. Folks seems friendly and willing to answer questions. Most importantly, the RP quality is, from my brief experience, excellent.
I figured since I complained here, I should follow up. The wait to be approved was discouraging, but once that was handled, the experience has been a pretty good one. I think it's worth a try.
User experience may, obviously, vary.

I'm West on Reno, by the way. Vampire char. Feel free to poke me for RP, BG hooks, or whatever else. I'm friendly.
-
You keep asking for RP when I am unavailable! THough.. I am seriously considering going vampire on Mikaela. So.. if you want a blood doll/someone to eventually turn.. feel free to hassle me on her.
-
And I'm Max. If I'm on, ping me. I'm generally available to play or run scenes whenever I'm on.

Oh, didn't realize. We haven't played yet, but glad you did stick around.
/me am Selina, for anyone who cares.

Because reasons...
I'm Hera! Telekinetic-not-totally-sure-entirely-what-I'm-doing-yet, char >.>
Anyone feel free to prod at me for RP or whatever, whenever. Even if my available hours kinda suck.
@Thisnameistaken dragged me over after giving the game a second chance. Pretty much love everyone there so far. Just saying. -

Game's back up.
-
Something either up with Vampire apps or something is up with mine.
Vampire opened on June 1st for apps. I'm 85% sure that not one app has been approved. And I'm sure as hell still waiting.
I LOVE Reno. I like the players and the staff and so far this is my only poor experience. I'm an understanding goldfish. (And I'll forget about this problem as soon as I can hit the grid. I'm a goldfish.) If something is going on behind the scenes, that's fine. I'm not pushy. I'm concerned at this point. Why can't the vampires play?
