based only on the headline since it wants money for me to read it:

They basically mention it throughout the article, but this looks like a glaring example of correlation and not causation. Who drinks a lot of diet soft drinks? People at an unhealthy weight who are trying to watch their weight.

... or people like me who drive their bodies to extremes.
I really need more than 4 hours of sleep on a regular basis.

You knooooow, this reminds me of how the 'hey humans are starting to develop these knobby 'horn' like spurs and we're not entirely sure why!' study got warped into 'cellphones are giving teenagers horns' (in the actual study, they found the incidents in people under 30 wasn't really any higher than anyone else).
That wasn't 100% Washington Post's fault (I think it was a UK publication? that initially did the 'omg teens and texting!' and WP just ran with it cause yeeeeeeah clickbait!)..... so I wonder who this one is coming from.
(all news forever is suspicious.)

@Rinel And diabetics?

#1 reason I miss working from home: I get really terrible cramps and so tired I can barely function during my period.
I swear I've nearly dozed off at least half a dozen times today.

Me: Yup, ties! I love ties! Tiestiestiesties!I don't give two shits about fashion. Partly because either from ADHD or being on the spectrum, I have major issues with comfort and fabric (I have been known to get dressed and then run back to my room to change clothes because the fabric is literally rubbing me the wrong way). So my go-to outfit is jeans or yoga pants and a tank top ('fabric on fabric discomfort' is something I've tried to get people to understand for a long time so my sleeves rubbing against my shirt under my arms really really bothers me) . In cooler months, I'll add a hoodie.
But when I work in an office, I'm surrounded by all these ladies who look put together and pretty and I start to feel more and more out of place...... until I'm trying to assemble nice, business-casual-at-least outfits so I don't stand out as some hideous troll.
I wish I could get away with just 'slacks-shirt-tie' like men do. I work with someone who wears the same thing (black slacks, white button-down) every single day. No one ever bats an eye.
And it's possible no one would if I did similar as a woman, but culture and pressure and anxiety have me seeing some woman in a cute little black dress, heels, and full make-up while clearly late in her second trimester of pregnancy and my brain starts going 'oh god if she's still up to wearing HEELS and TINY CUTE DRESSES while pregnant than what do people think of me and my jeans/t-shirt combo?!'
So today I'm wearing a dress over a pair of leggings and wedges. I will strip it off the instant I get in the door at home to sink into pajamas.

It wasn't about fashion. It was about everything.

You've got socks, too. It's how I'm expressing myself pre-social transition.
...though my trans pride socks should be a pretty big flag to anyone familiar with trans issues.

I get to go to a meeting about deaths in my speciality where we will look at them, consider the actions and make clinical recommendations for funding etc. I am very excited and grown-up about this... definitely a Real Genuine Grown-up (RGG) at this moment. The meeting is in London and I am travelling first class because I am an RGG.

Being pregnant is not a miracle. It's pretty much just being exhausted and miserable for months on end. And next person that says something about being all happy and thrilled and feeling great while pregnant, I might have to stab them in the eye. But finals are done. Barely. I miss coffee. Just a random rant I had to get out since I don't want to whine at the SO about it.

@Rinel outside my remit! I don't actually get my hands dirty...

@Auspice Very much that.

It's me.
I released my first EP (which I am now embarrassed about because creative insecurities). It was a very educational project that pushed my skills forward a lot, but I realized I wasn't entirely being myself. Like, the dubstep type stuff wasn't necessarily bad, but I feel like I was trying to be popular or sound like other people. The best parts of my EP were the parts where I really embraced myself and my uniqueness.
Either way, I'm working on a new project now, and trying to push my compositional skills forward, not being too worried about making dancey songs or whatever (though I do like dancey songs so you never know). I also have a Japanese idol type pop song that sounds like an anime opening coming out soon, that I made for this American duo (it's their first original song).
I got very focused on music and music composition/production, I somewhat stopped pursuing code because it didn't really make me happy. I've also started studying 3D modeling and 3D animation because it's really fun and I want to have a cool visual. 3D is much easier than you'd think, though that might just be due to all the time I spent on Second Life. Also I got into Japanese studies 日本語を勉強しました。
Oddly enough, while doing research for my branding aesthetics, I got super into learning about clowns? But this is a more recent development. Where that will go is still pending.
I spent most of last year going to therapy, both private and various group therapy sessions, spending nearly every weekday doing -some- form of professional therapy. While I still deal with a lot of stuff, I have much better coping mechanisms and levels of control than I used to. My current diagnosis is ADHD, major depression (with psychotic features), PTSD, and generalized anxiety. Many people around me suspect that I'm on the spectrum (primarily old mothers with children on the spectrum), and a few other friends, so gradually I've stopped ignoring this and started actually taking that seriously, which is why I plan to find an ASD specialist soon to diagnose me and see if there's anything to that.
Uhh, in other news I'm also trying to remodel the house a bit. Nothing intense, mostly cleaning up my parents' neglect since they moved out a while ago, then will gradually do little things here and there. And I'm gonna try to raise money for a new music project I want to do but don't have the cash for yet (I need to buy some specific synthesizer plugins).
I guess that's most of the important positive things!
Here's my regularly updated pinterest board that I use for working out my branding aesthetic and also what I give to artists for inspiration when they do commissions and design stuff for my music!
