Where's your RP at?
-
Just curious where people are getting good quality stories and RP at these days.
-
@Astrid Arx. For all my disappointment in staff ethics, there is too much roleplay going around and it's easy to tap into.

This, and Arx is doing a lot of things right. It's the type of game that I want to play, but I have to admit, I'm eyeing what's going on and weighing my options.

What did they do wrong?
I'd really rather not bring it up here. The thread was asking about RP, not drama from specific MU*. Let's keep it focused please?

I'm playing on Fear & Loathing and having a fantastic time. Got a great vamp admin who's running an amazing gamewide plot right now and the players are the most inclusive and skillful RPers. Other than that, having fun over on Fallcoast with the little feral I have.

I used to play on F&L, and I can concur here. The Vampire Admin is fantastic, and the players there are inclusive and fun to play with.
I currently play on New Orleans idly. It is a CoD game. It is small and not very busy.
I also play on Fallen World. It is a CoD game, primarily focused on Mage. It is small, but it is engaging and the players there are phenomenal.
Finally, I play on Fate's Harvest. I have a soft spot for Changeling, and this hits the spot.
-
@Arkandel Thank you. Yeah I don't want to know about drama. Just where good RP can be found.
Decades in this hobby have given me a tool for ignoring drama when the RP is good

-
@Astrid None as yet.
-
I also play on Arx. It fulfills the non-WoD RP I enjoy but I'm also on Fallcoast playing with a very small group doing my own thing since I'm not sure there's a game wide plot. RL is busy so these two places satisfy my need for pretendy fun times. There's drama everywhere but it can be avoided if you get in with a low drama group of folks.
-
Most of my RP time has been focused on Reno (playing a Werewolf for the first time and found a great pack) and Fate's Harvest (where my 'ok this should be fun' concept is actually gaining a lot of traction).
-
NOLA, and only kinda active.
There's not much else out there, frankly. Or at least anything that holds my interest.
-
Nowhere really. I am so burnt on anything XofDarkness and my work makes it difficult to get involved in things.
-
I've been on hiatus a couple years. Just getting back and made an Immortal on Fear & Loathing running a bar for supes, so I get to interact with lots of spheres. Its small, but has great potential I think. The player base is very good and the staff are very easy to work with. Also working on creating my character on City of Hope, but that is taking longer.
It would be nice to see F&L fleshed out with more players. So you know ... shameless plug ... and all that
-
@Lithium That's about where I am. There's WoD, a couple of SW games(but I'd rather just play SWTOR), and then Arx.
I mean, I know I'm probably wrong, but that's what the landscape feels like.
-
-
Fallen World. It's on the slow side at the moment, although some of that is me being low-energy recently. But when it's on, it's on.
-
City of Hope. Which is ... I mean, the quality of play there is wildly variable. Wildly variable. There are some pretty awful players, and I don't think that's entirely being an RP snob. Still. It's a big game, which means it's usually at least possible to find play when you want it.
I tried Arx -- several times, in fact -- and it just hasn't clicked for me. And none of my Fallcoast characters ever really clicked. C'est la guerre.

@Monogram There's a number of Hero games, but a majority of them use either pure consent, or a rule system that I don't really like... or are FC focused to where OC's have no place.
There are a few outliers but they are generally small or not really active unfortunately.
-
@Lithium I have tried numerous times to get into comic or hero based games, and it has just never stuck. I don't know if it just doesn't grab my interest or something else about it.
I'd like to see more fantasy out there. An option that's not Arx. Or sci fi. Or a Fallout type game that somebody was talking about a week or so back.

I have a game idea, but I don't have the inclination to deal with code. >.>
