@gryphter it's good juice. I love me a good mai tai!
-
@mietze Okay, are they in the military, or is this some new slang from the Kids These Days I've missed so far?
-
This is the Twitch 'PogChamp' emote. Saying "pog" or "poggers" is a reference to this image as a reaction.

Jesus christ. I thought hearing my boys say milady every other sentence when they were in jr high was bad, but now everything is "pog" and I am so fucking old that EVERY time I think to myself WTF are they talking about the juice for."
Oh ffs this. THE REAL WORLD IS NOT TWITCH CHAT. It's even worse because we can't enforce mutes on people in reality.

@Tinuviel on my lawn razzlefrazzle...

The realization that no matter what comes out of their mouth, some people are gonna lie over and over and over again and let you down.
Bleargh.
My annoyance here is with myself in the end, that there are some people I can't stop giving a damn about despite the reality that they did this shit, are doing this shit, and no matter how many times they say it's going to be different, they're going to continue to do this shit, and I am all too aware of this.
This. This. This a million times. This a billion times.
Even when I finally do manage to exit, stage left (this has happened to me far more than once, unfortunately, and is a huge part of why I'm fairly solitary, even on the Internet) righteously angry and indignant and full of enough disgust to finally close the door? Time passes and my resolve weakens because I start forgetting how much being lied to constantly sucks, and how hurtful being gaslit over it is, and instead start missing the good times and traits that drew me into the friendship in the first place.
I'm not glad it's happening to someone else, but it's given me a second of relief to 'hear' someone else raging against this particular machine.
Thank you for sharing this peeve.

@eye8urcake Empathy hug sent, if welcome, 'cause... nnnnngh, yeah.

I find it really annoying when people act as though talking about memes IRL, or using them in casual conversation, is somehow out of line.

Awkward should be defined as...
When your boss (who hasn't been productive) gets removed from being your boss the day before her birthday (and is assigned to a penalty box position), and your boss's boss tells 2 teammates (but not all). Now your ex-boss sits right next to you and the reporting structure that would announce that she is no longer your boss is out of office...so everyone is just sitting around and not addressing the elephant in the room.

So would you say she's probably feeling.... boxed in?

I drug all the furniture in from my porch FOR NOTHING. Harrumph.

My town switched to a new trash collection system.
It had been you had to buy special bags and they would only take the special bags.
As of yesterday it was you could buy whatever bags you want, but had to also buy tags to put on them, but they would still take the special bags if people used them.
Stores stopped selling the special bags. I could not find anywhere that sold the tags. From what i could tell driving in to work and seeing who had trash out to be collected only about 1 in 10 houses are successfully getting trash picked up today.

@WildBaboons I would be furious.
I have posted this before, but share it again, with assurance I'd totally do this for the one I love if we were getting screwed about like that.
...yep, that's real mail we got, and I will always find every single thing about it comical and ridiculous.
It is still not as ridiculous as the nonsense you're describing.

Well.
I was in a fantastic mood.
But then I got home to an eviction notice. It'll be fine.
I have the money. But this fucking apartment makes it almost impossible to pay.
New management shortened the 'due date' from the 5th to the 3rd.
They're closed Sundays and holidays (which means yes, 2 days this week to pay).
You can ONLY pay via money order or a website that charges $30.Which means for people like me who work during their 'office hours' (they close 'at 6' but usually they've bailed by 5:30 and I get home right around 6), your only option is the website. ('Hey, fuck you for having a job, pay a fee!')
I've been trying to call this week to work out paying in the office, somehow ('hey, can you guarantee you'll be there until 6 or 6:05?') except no one has been answering the phones or returning my calls when I call during the day.
So yes, I am in an absolutely foul mood coming home to an eviction notice after being 1 day late when I've been trying to call.
I just keep telling myself it'll be fine. I can still pay and go on my way, but fuck if I'm not mad about it.

@Auspice Holy motherfuck that is insane and not OK. Fingers crossed there's some legal recourse for this that will smack them upside the head something fierce, with a quickness, and free of charge.

I really hope so.
I had to threaten them with legal recourse earlier this year when I'd been waiting nearly 2 months for my AC to be fixed (that got them to fix it within a day, GO FIGURE).
