      I said dill seed.

I repeatedly said do not get me dill weed, i need dill seed for pickles. Hur hur hur.

What did my spouse come home with? 15 bucks of dill weed and one dill seed "they had just one and I thought you would be fine with the weed"

Now to return this all and hunt dill seed. I should have checked when he came home last night. I can't use dried dill weed to make his pickles and peppers. Jeeeeesus.

Well, you can, actually, and you should, so that he may suffer for it.

Arguing the meaning of wisdom, versus maxims, versus ideals, etc.

I go with "the soundness of an action or decision with regard to the application of experience, knowledge, and good judgment." It implies to me that something must be attainable, enactable, and not a pie in the sky ideal, or a laudable goal.

I have a waggish sense of humor.

There is a new car parked outside my apartment. A truck, really.

In the spot I usually park in. It's just outside my window, right by my door. A lovely spot.

But this old-ass (early 90s, so p. ancient for a car), beat-up, rusting Ford pickup is full of junk and has an after-market alarm.

                A malfunctioning after-market alarm.

This truck has not moved for two days now.

This alarm goes off oh, every couple of hours.

                All day.

                5am yesterday.

                Midnight.

                3:30am.

                10am.

                Just now, 1:20pm.

Sometimes it's just a long series of beeps. Sometimes it's a full alarm going off.

Last night I reported it to the APD non-emergency, but since I can't pull up the reference number in their report database, I guess something bigger came up and they couldn't make it out (understandable). I've reported it to the front office, but they'll give this person 24 hours before they have it towed.

                Why?

Oh because the kicker: this isn't a resident vehicle nor does it have a visitor tag on it.

Fuck you junk truck. I'm a barely functional human being due to your fucking junk alarm and I'm this close to taking something big and heavy to your car to tear the POS out of it.

@auspice A really unpleasant note is more than warranted. That would be entirely legal! ...and deserved. Richly deserved. I'm pretty sure we'd all be willing to help contribute insults to the cause?

                      Oh fucking well.

@auspice You should watch this. This movie popped into my mind reading your post. I sympathize 😞 But if it doesn't belong to a resident or a visitor tag, why haven't they towed it, clearly then, it's not supposed to be there...

This, @Auspice. Get your property manager on the horn, and ask that it get towed away if it is on private property.

Recently, an associate left my firm. We are two attorneys down now, with increasing work.

This isn't usually a bad thing, but I'm finding that a lot of the cases I'm picking up having been properly loved and maintained. I find that frustrating.

Also, I've been pulling 10-11 hour days for, like, two weeks now. Which seems normal for a lawyer, but for a parent it blows.

                              I left a note reading:

"Please move your truck. Your alarm is terrible."

I did call the leasing office first thing. They said they'll leave a warning on the vehicle that they have 24hrs to move it or be towed.

I will leave more, less polite notes within that 24hrs. Because I am exhausted. I keep dozing off at my desk.

Went out to go to work and found someone had broken into my car. Took some stuff but not everything. I fucking hate being stolen from but all things considered, this was a kind thief. Left my work ID. Cleaned out my glove box, but left my registration and insurance. Took a bag of stuff I had in the back, but left my work shirts and most of my hats (but not all).

I find myself annoyed that I can't get raging pissed at whoever this person was. They saved me a lot of time and energy with some of the stuff they did not take and their consideration has me underwhelmingly thankful.

@auspice It's probable that the truck is stolen anyways. Stolen vehicles often get dropped off in apartment complexes.

I got home and they have a resident sticker.

                                    HOWEVER.

Maybe they also fixed their alarm. It hasn't gone off.

                                    .........yet.

But it also strengthens my theory that people are just parking their random ass broken shit cars on my side of the complex because it has more parking (esp. since this truck is full of trash and hasn't moved in 3 days now).
