The new guy I'm training today likes to sing sotto voce. I've been hearing "Yummy, yummy yummy..." all morning >.<

I haven't hated a song in a long time as much as I hate that song

Bad Teacher
You rang?
You only qualify if you're also as hot as either Cameron Diaz or Justin Timberlake.
Are you as hot as Cameron Diaz or Justin Timberlake?

Oh, hey, are we talking about song hate?
There are five Shawn Mendes songs on the mall playlist.
FIVE

The flu can die in a fire. I got my shot and everything.
-
Yeah, I've been out of work with both kids down with it this week. First day in 5 that the oldest didn't have a huge fever.
I haven't slept more than like ten minutes every night checking on them and I'm shocked I don't have it yet.
-
@tek I hear you. I got my flu shot in October. And got the flu a week ago. They must have really guessed the strains wrong this year.
-
I got the flu shot this year for the first time in a handful of years.
Got the worst flu I've ever had this year.So yeeeeeeeah.
-
@TNP That's the thing. The flu isn't what makes you sick. It's the flu lottery. Medical professionals make educated guesses on what strain will be most virulent and it's never a sure thing.
I think this year was 35 to 40% chance of having predicted the right strain.

Given that it got to 118 today, I think that I have been hotter than them both.

I have been sick since Christmas. Three different bugs. I am bored of this now. I was coughing and struggling to breathe for two weeks and now a headcold. BORED. We have a selection of drugs on the kitchen side for whichever stage the household is in at that time.
(my daughter started working in a primary school - it is a Petri dish)
-
Why am I awake? Itβs 4am. I have no power.
-
@Testament and the strain I got is the fast-mutating type

Go to the doctor and make sure it's not bronchitis. This time last year, I was so sick for so long that I ended up with it and almost passed out at work. I ended up on an inhaler for most of a month.

The flu going around here (that did not make it into the flu shot this year) has some very nasty secondary stuff that I am still recovering from, including pericarditis. I did not ger pneumonia this time but I know of a ton of people that did, as well as reactive airways even in people who usually don't get that.
So definitely worth getting checked out if you are still very ill weeks later, or if you get better for a little while and then get hit with fever again. I know a lot of people who got strep immediately afterwards too, often with atypical symptoms. I know it's a big expensive deal to go to the doctor but honestly this season's illness i would.
-
@Aria thanks I admit to being a typical health care bod, and listened to my chest. It is just two different bugs... And I have asthma. So I upped the meds.

People who complain, mock, or ridicule RPG systems that they have no experience with. I've been playing Palladium RPGs and the Hero system since I was in middle school and I love both of them. I get that they may not be the most popular gaming systems out there(especially Palladium) but I enjoy them both very much.
What bugs me are people who say things like, "I've never played Champions but I know it's super complicated and requires an advanced mathematics degree to play and that's just stupid." Or some such. All they do is parrot garbage they read off of forums and act like this makes them experts. Then, when you try to discuss this with them, just just shake their heads and walk away. It's very irritating.
I'm tempted to make a Champions or Heroes Unlimited MUSH just to spite people.

I have a moderately obscure first name.
I have seen it used in television twice for aliens/non-human fictional characters.
I have also now seen it occur four times in various paranormal shows as the victim of a haunting, which is really a peculiarly high incidence. (Including that one time the preview at the start of the episode re-enactment kicked off with a creepy voice whispering MY OBSCURE NAME. Beads and cats suddenly flying everywhere as I yikesed, having been caught totally off-guard... )
Dear Mom + Dad: Thanks for the weird name pick, guess you wanted me to get haunted.
