Had meeting today to review documentation thus far.
Came up that my contract is up on Jan 10th and thus it all has to be 'done' by then.
I joked 'unless my contract gets extended' (boss wasn't in meeting, mind) and one of the other guys on the team goes 'No, it needs to be done by then.'
Which, I mean. I get it.
But still.
Deflating.
Going to go home tonight and drink myself into a stupor.
Went for an interview that seemed to go pretty well. Well enough that they had me interview with a second manager. I didn't hear anything last week, but hey, it was the holiday. I call today to check in with the agency - Oh, she didn't call you? She should have called you last week to tell you they're going in another direction. Have a nice day.

Christmas music shouldn't even be getting played. Christmas starts on sundown of December 24th and continues until Candlemas.

I did say to someone who was grumping seriously about Christmas music and liturgical seasons that if people want to celebrate the birth of Jesus several weeks early because the holiday brings them happiness and the world is an unhappy place at present, then that should bring joy to a Christian's heart.

@Rinel That may be nominally true, but the War on Christmas isn't going as well as conservative opinion hosts would have you believe. Advent can be considered entirely Christmas territory, and has been for some time; Thanksgiving remains nominally independent, but in practice, it and its entire month of November are operating under the Yuletide sphere of influence.
At this point, I think we need to consider Halloween occupied territory; I saw Christmas trees going up at the mall where I work by October 29.

That wouldn't be cultural appropriation. Nicene Christianity is the evolution of a apocalyptic messianic sect of Judaism that arose during the late Second Temple era. It shares a lineage with Rabbinic Judaism, which evolved from the practices of the Pharisees after the destruction of the Second Temple. Modern Judaism and modern Christianity are more siblings than parent/child, though certainly modern Judaism bears a great deal more resemblance to its forebears than the sect that ended up overshadowing the more orthodox practices.
And I am definitely not going to get into the theology of that tangled relationship. Hoo boy.

Okay, so... my birth certificate. One I have had for a million years. One I have used for all of life. It got lost in my last move. I wanted to get a new one (see vent about the fucking charges for that). I did. It has .. wait for it..
THE WRONG BIRTHDAY
Trust me, I've had it for more than a few gos around the sun. I know my birthday. It's on every other fricken legal document. Now they want to charge me another $50 to correct their error? Is this real life? Can they legally do that if they fucked it up?
