She's one of those people that I primarily associate with a character played by shitty person who did shitty things to several of my friends over a period of years. I kind of want to smack her in the face every time I see her as a result. I know it's not rational, but there it is.
If she could act, I could likely dissociate the two, but given that she can't, her stand-out "role" for me is.... one she didn't even play.
-
@aria I sometimes hate PBs for this reason.
Sometimes, someone does something so spectacularly shitty I lose favorite flicks over this weird mental glitch. My list of favorite movies I can watch a million times without getting tired of them is thus dwindling.
I might have a problem.
-
@surreality For me, it's literally her and Jason Schwartzman, who was the PB of the guy that stalked and harassed me and Mr. Aria for about four years. Fortunately, Jason Schwartzman tends to play assholes/villains in most of the movies I've seen him in, so my unreasonable frothing hatred of him doesn't really interfere too much.
-
It might not be a nerdy movie but it does feature Scarlet Witch, Hawkeye and the Punisher!
Wind River was really good, if you're into Fargo-style crime drama flicks.
-
@arkandel I will second this. It's a good movie that did not get a lot of attention.
-
Multiple Man R-rated movie starring James Franco.
-
@arkandel That might be more interesting than it sounds.
Speaking of James Franco has anyone else seen The Disaster Artist? I was surprised by how good this was.

makes grabbyhands at The New Mutants

@auspice Gotta confess, this trailer was p boring. I'm concerned about this movie because it's SO MANY characters. I'll see it. But so far, so meh.

Yeah I felt the level of excitement for the Avenger's trailer I wish I had for the Starwars trailer.I am excited for booooooth.
I've just crossed that threshold, I think.
Enough shit sucks in my life that goddamnit, I'm just gonna let myself enjoy things. I'mma enjoy Star Wars.
I'mma enjoy Infinity War.My little inner nerd child is getting to see all this stuff come to life with this plethora of amazing technology and I'm just going to savor it.
(And try to beat back my inner scriptwriter with a stick because that's really where I do get nitpicky, but considering the inner scriptwriter was just in love with how well-written Civil War was? I'm very, very optimistic about Infinity War.) -
I think I have turned the corner on superhero films, now they have become just another genre to me, no different then Rom coms, or horror. I will still go see some of them, since it is a genre I like, but I no longer get excited about them.
Not exactly sure why, I mean I was planning for weeks waiting in like and going opening day excited for Thor and Thor 2, for Ragnarok I was I defiantly want to see it but waited until the second Tuesday it was out when the crowd would be smaller and I could get $5 tickets like I would for any other movie.
Not sure if it has just reached the saturation point where I no longer see them as special or what it is.Edit to add: I may have to wear a mask when I go to the comic shop again, just saw a commercial for pitch perfect 3 and sadly looking forward to that more than any things else in the pipeline. (To be fair a not small part of that is that i know it will be one of my PCs favorite movie of the year.)

I like this article's analysis of the main difference between how Marvel and DC cinematic universes work.

The Disaster Artist was awesome. I lol'd lots and lots and James Franco was amazing.
-
@sockmonkey I was surprised by how good it was actually. I think James Franco nailed his portrayal of Tommy W.

Murder on the Orient Express was fucking amazing. Man I love Agatha Christie stories so hard, and they make such good movies!
