Actually, re-reading it I think it is starting to make more sense. I think I am just tired and mind numb after doing taxes for the last 2 hours.

If you're gonna play an FC, the option to have Staff input stats for you is still totally on the table. DarkSouls is awesome at it.

@Auspice I'm debating bringing The Question (Sage, not Montoya) in, but I am also open to suggestions.
EDIT: Oh, the +roster has way more than the wiki does in terms of who is taken (or available). Hrm, now there are many other options. Stupid decisions.
-
@Alamias There are so, SO many options open. Pretty much anything not currently in play and not on the Banned Concepts list is available!

Game Update!
We've hit a little slump. I blame myself. This year has not started the best for me so I have only recently gotten back to being on regularly. I also blame my use of the Marvel Heroic RPG. It just did not catch on. I still think Cortex Plus is a great system and could work on a game...just not this one apparently.
I'm not giving up, however. I have plans in the works to phase out the Marvel RPG for something easier for casual players to slip into. We're discussing the exacts on the game now but I'm hoping to start implementing it next week or the week after.
So we're down but not out. I love this game, the RP I've had, and the people I've met running it and I have no intention of letting it go.
-
Our new character generation system is now live. We have gotten rid of the Marvel Heroic System(though existing characters have their character sheets grandfathered for the time being) and implemented something we feel will be more player friendly. I call it the Power Grid system and it's a "lite trait-based" system. I'm not a fan of descriptive trait-based systems but I feel this one should be fairly painless. I was able to go through and do up the sample PCs(Batman and Superman) in just 15-20 minutes each.
So now is a good time to check us out if you were kept away because of the Marvel Heroic RPG.
We've also hit a bit of a slump with a number of characters idling out. I'm going to let those characters remain closed for the next week or so in case anyone who has left wants to come back.
I'm also hoping to get some more plots up and running starting next week.
-
I just wanted to use this post to reach out to a few different types of people...
Players who have left: I'm hoping to lure you back with a new character generation system and RP! Things hit a hard slump at the beginning of the year with me being sick and out of sorts and people just really did not take to the Marvel Heroic RPG. Well, both of those are fixed(I hope)! I'm feeling much better and we now have our new traits-lite Power Grid system live. I'm also hoping to lure back old staff and to start running scenes again starting next week(I'll be running a scene every Monday night). So if you've let a character idle out I'm going to leave them open for you to return for another week(till 4.15.19). After that I'll return all idle characters to the general application pool.
Staffers who have left: Come back! LOL Even if it's just to your players I'd love for all of you to come on back. I'd also adore it if we could get back to running 1 scene a week a piece(right now I'm doing Mondays but I could switch to Sunday or Tuesday if Monday suits someone else better).
To everyone else: It's a new day of H&V MUX and there are a ton of characters open to app. A lot of high profile characters in fact so if you're at all interested please check us out at hvmush.com. Thanks.
-
We continue to press on! As of today I've put all idled out characters into the general app pool so there are A TON of characters available for application.
I'm also scheduling scenes every Monday. We're looking to start around 6pm ET and be done with the main scene around 9pm.

I thought I'd post an update here as well as on the MUX. I've decided to take the game down for the time being. My intention is to rebuild it on an Ares server to take advantage of the web integration and then relaunch the game in a few months. I really do like the game, I love the theme, and I've had a blast with the people that I've met there but I feel I can't maintain an open place and put in the effort to rebuild it from the ground up on another server at the same time. My hope is to relaunch the game sometime this summer. Thanks.
-
Sorry I was so absent. Count me as one of the ones who'll be back once the game's back up.
-
I was just coming back to pick up the address Good luck and if Matt Murdock's available when you return, I am going to play Daredevil. Damn it!

I've got my fingers crossed ZG will find a way to let people keep their original chars if they claim within a certain window maybe.
-
That's my plan. When we reopen to have a "pre-opening" for returning players to reclaim characters from the original opening.

Found a bit of good news this morning. Apparently last year, for fun, I coded up a FASERIP style system in Ares. I think I can modify this for use on H&V pretty easily. At least that's my hope.

FASERIP you say?
Oh, never mind why the dogs are barking. That's just my ultrasonic fanboy squeeing. It will subside momentarily.
-
@ZombieGenesis A FASERIP game would be awesome.
But, just remember that the primary obstacle in a mixed DC/Marvel game will always be getting the power scales to mesh.
Still, I say go for it.
-
It won't be FASERIP. Not a direct copy of it anyway but I'd be lying if I said that FASERIP wasn't a huge inspiration for the Power Grid system we do use. In fact, I actually have a FASERIP conversion page for the wiki to convert old character writeups to the Power Grid system on the game.
-
I've had some people ask about the state of the game so I thought I'd post about it here. It's going but it's going slowly. Most of the code is actually done I'm just working on the wiki now then I need to rebuild the grids(which probably won't actually take very long). The big issue is that I'm also working on another project with some people that's absorbed my time and some RL stuff has kicked off(in a good way, I'm starting to see some success in my professional writing so I've been doubling down on that). So, in short, the game is coming and I'm hoping by end of summer but no promises. I haven't given up though just got sidetracked by some other things.
