I think Cowboy Bebop is still very watchable. The music is still incredible. The animation style is waning. The story and world are still solid.
I watched it from beginning to end twice from April 2014 to September 2014. I haven't watched this year but I might.
Might watch a run through of Samurai Champloo instead. -

Dragon Ball Kai (experience of the original but with slightly less filler, thanks)
Hahhahaha 'slightly less filler' is one way of putting it.
DBZ was 291 episodes, Kai pared it down to 159. At roughly 18 mins an episode, they shaved off just shy of 40 hours from the series. ^_^
Can't tell if happy or complaining

Happy. The bulk of what was removed was filler either in the form of side-arcs that were just dumb (even by DBZ standards) and stretching out a fight scene by lengthening power ups and such for days sometimes, the latter being what gave DBZ much of its reputation as trash.
Kai slimmed it down a ton. I have downloads of both full series', and checked out some of the fights side by side and the difference is pretty lulz at times.
Also, @Roz, if you haven't yet (and I can't recall if I linked them after the move to this forum), you absolutely must watch DBZ Abridged by Team Four Star. I suggest using a download from youtube tool, but streaming works too:
DBZ Abridged - Season 1 (1h34m)
DBZ Abridged - Season 2 (3h34m)
DBZ Abridged - Season 3 (2h10m)Covers up through the very end of the Android Saga/start of the Cell Saga. They do them episode by episode (episode of abridged, not episode of dbz, otherwise it wouldn't be... abridged), but people have compiled them into full movies and uploaded.
If you've just been watching Kai so it's fresh in your mind, you must go watch Abridged, because holy (dragon) balls I couldn't stop laughing, especially during the Namek/Frieza arc. They're still making them, currently on Abridged ep 48 or 49 of the Cell Saga.
They also did two Dragon Ball Kai Abridged episodes that do a super fast forward from the start up through the Frieza saga, but it's like 99% in-jokes for people who watched the rest of the Abridged stuff, mostly made as a joke when people were asking them if they were going to redo it all with Kai.

@HelloRaptor What's the opposite of Christopher Walken?

I still have a really distinct memory of watching DBZ in middle school on Toonami during Goku and Frieza's final fight when Frieza had like -- sent that ki bomb to the core of the planet or whatever. And no one else in my family watched DBZ, but my mom would sometimes be in the same room when I watched it, and even she paid enough attention to eventually be like, "Didn't they say the planet was exploding in five minutes several episodes ago?"

During the original run of DBZ, I used to joke that one third of every episode of recap, one third in the middle new stuff and one third next time peviews.
It drove fans of the show crazy because is was so close to true. -

Still waiting for Netflix to cough up the second season of Fairy Tail.

It is quite possibly the best "hero's irritatingly linear journey" anime I've seen, since each of the archetypes has a personality twist that makes them not awful. Like how Lucy can be a shrew but once her backstory's laid out it makes sense. Same with Erza being the team hardass.
Dislike Laxus though. Dis. Like. He even has douchetats.

Ok, so I am finally giving up hope on a High School of the Dead Season 2, and I kind of want to watch an anime. There are a few on Netflix that look cool. I usually prefer action and or sci-fi.
Is Bleach actually worth watching?

Until Feudal Japan Shounen Afterlife starts.
If you haven't watched Magi, watch it.

Rez because freaking FLCL is coming back and that's kind of crazy. Toonami is co-producing.

Fucking awesome.

I started watching a (slightly old) anime last night to alleviate my insomnia called Owari no Seraph.
It was interesting, about 4 episodes in. Post-apocalyptic world where a virus killed 90% of the population, anyone above the age of 13 (though obviously some adults survived). In the wake of this? Vampires come out of the woodwork. Particularly in Tokyo, where this one group declares it their protectorate and take surviving kids to their underground city. It only gets crazier from there, since apparently also monsters followed the vampires out from underground... looks like humanity's presence was suppressing weird supernatural shit.
