I was pretty happy with this news this morning. I mean, it's not a third season, but it's closure, which is better than nothing.

Did you see the Farscape mini-series after the show got canceled? The Peacekeeper Wars? And you still want to say that?
I'm absolutely kidding. I'm extremely glad that they did it.

I actually liked The Peacekeeper Wars for what it was: a decent ending to a great show done on a tight budget and schedule.

This is the good TV thread. Not the 'tick all the boxes for a cookie cutter drama' TV thread.
Sense8 is Modern Family for hipsters.

Am currently working through The Flash again. Most things out there are currently rewatches. Went through all of Supernatural before that, and am open to suggestions.
As for new things, The Mist is surprisingly not horrible thus far.
As for stupid but fun and entertaining shit, the Travel Channel is replaying Destination Truth, which originally ran on Syfy. It's monster hunting... but not. ("No one's better at almost finding monsters than us!" <-- actual quote.) It is very self-aware re: they are not going to find anything. If you like travel and weird situations, travel, frightening foodstuffs, and quirky observational humor in the moment, it is entertaining as hell. I ended up buying the full run of it once it left Netflix because it was a good background watch whenever I felt my job was somehow too hard. (Instant and snerk-filled attitude adjustment, done.) If you are bored, want a laugh, and it's on, it's worth giving a shot if you haven't seen it before. If nothing else, you may get a fun idea for a monster of the week scene out of it.

GLOW was pretty good. I didn't expect to like it as much as I did, but I love campy 80s fun. It's on Netflix. Go, watch it.

The Netflix Castlevania series was epic, but WAAAAY too short. I almost wouldn't call it an anime, just an american cartoon with anime stylings. But it was good. Good adaptation of the first chunk of Castlevania 3.
Finished Young Justice. Holy hell, it was awesome.
Started watching The Magicians. This is the weirdest shit I've ever seen.
-
@Bobotron I love the Magicians! So you'd recommend Young Justice? I've been looking for something to binge watch.

Young Justice is the absolutely shit.

The Magicians is cool. I wouldn't call it the weirdest, but it does go places other people might call 'rather tacky', rofl.
I am one episode away from the end of Castlevania and it just feels to me like a long, drawn out prologue. Like, I don't... I wouldn't consider it something whole, at this point. Almost like the very first two episodes of Fullmetal Alchemist which were like In Media Res (story-wise) and were a short, almost self-contained story.
Anyway. I watched all of Burn Notice recently and am now past the halfway mark on the second season of Fringe.
Fringe was so good, y'all.

@Coin That was my take on Castlevania, too. The 'first season' is anything but long. It seems like the rough equivalent of, say, the first film in a trilogy. I'm not familiar with the source material, so I can't say if anybody who is should be pleased or not with it, but I liked it. There was only one line that made me wince for its awkwardness, and that only one stood out is somewhat impressive.
Am going back through all of GoT this week, 'cause why not.

More liek the first half of a first movie in a trilogy. Lol.

'Cuz it's frustrating?

Get a spell checker already dammit, you misspelled "really awesome", and there's a freakin' space between the words.
These things aren't mutually exclusive, especially in today's television. A show can be 'really awesome' and 'fucking frustrating' at the same time, often for the same reasons.
She asked 'why not', so ''cuz it's really awesome' wouldn't have made any sense.
I'll get a spell checker when you start reading for context and comprehension. >.>

So it didn’t take 10 episodes before getting to the plot?
Isn't all the Daenerys stuff more than 10 episodes?

You might wanna actually check what he's responding to.
-
@Thenomain I think it's only 4 half hour episodes for this first season if I'm remembering correctly, so the jury's still out on that.
And might be for a couple of years.
-
@Coin I was trying to be humorous about your reference to context and comprehension. Guess I missed the mark.
