Not sure if it's been brought up yet but...
Castle.
I've been binge watching it with my husband, and we just caught up to current episodes. Great show.
-
And now dead. Unfortunately. I never watched it but I hate when shows that have such a loyal fanbase get skewered.
-
@Lithium After all these seasons, claiming they got screwed is a stretch. If it was just 1-3 seasons, I might've agreed.
-
My heartbreak was Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles. Never before have I been so wrong about expecting a series to be bad, and then they went and cancelled it.
-
@lordbelh I didn't say they got screwed. They got skewered right in the feels cuz the show was cancelled. I also hate when shows aren't given a way to 'end' the show in reasonable fashion and the viewers are just left hanging, that's kind of screwed.
-
@Arkandel
Fox has a weird ratings thing. Like, shows do REALLY well. But like CBS, I guess they have a target demographic, and the shows that do well, but get cancelled, don't do well with the demographic that they're trying to steal away from another network. TSSC was really good. I was looking forward to seeing what the whole deal was with Shirley Manson's character. -

My bad. 5am reading comprehension!

Now that Castle is over Firefly can come back ahahaha.
-
@Lithium When a show has as many seasons as Castle did, it is a MAJOR 'screw you' not to give them an opportunity to finish off the series in a solid way. (Unless... they were given that opportunity and the show used it to try to cliffhanger in order to create interest for another season... I don't know exactly what happened in this case...) But it is unusual for a show on that long not to wrap it all up in a bow, regardless of how neat or pretty it is. And yeah, it sucks. No doubt about that.
-
@Lithium From what I understand is they filmed two episodes for the end of the current season. One if they got cancelled and one if they continued without the cast who was lost due to budget cuts. It is a shame that the cancellation was announced with that one episode left in the season. They should have given them at least another quarter season to wrap things up. I think that would have been a better decision but who knows the minds of network execs.
@tragedyjones Stranger things have happened, Firefly could return. But given what happened in Serenity, should it?
-
Um...
Yes?
I don't think I'd be happy with most explanations of what's happened in the intervening time, and I don't think the show could survive a reboot, so I'd be happier if the minds and souls behind Firefly did something new, even if in the Verse.
-
Something in the Verse I think whole-heartedly yes. But an actual return of Firefly? I think you're right, something different is the way to go.
So what would something different be to you? Or anyone else who wants to weigh in.
-
I agree with both @Thenomain and @Jaded I'd be totally down with a new ship, new crew, new story in the 'Verse set some time after Firefly/Serenity, or even congruent with them, or before them, or whatever.
Just give us more.

9 episodes into season 1 of GoT.
Already I want there to be SO MUCH DEATH on the House of Lannister. Holy shit I haven't hated anyone in a TV show this hard for a long time. -
Spoiler alert:
The entire show is 'LOL LANNISTER WINS'.
-
@Admiral
I have no words to tell you how much that pisses me off. Here, have an apt response. -
@Bobotron Don't believe everything you read.
-
@Lithium
True, but I can still be pissed at the idea of Lannisters winning. -
The character I hate the most is 'random chick with light hair and dark eyebrows'.
She's boring. Her eyebrows don't match her hair. It creeps me out.

Haha. I could never figure out why they didn't bleach her eyebrows. The impression I got from the books was that the Targaryens were almost albinos.
