I will never get tired of watching all the gratuitous murder shenanigans on You.
-
Animaniacs, Season 2! Now on Hulu.
It's glorious....
Haven't gotten to the return of Dr. Scratchunsniff yet
-
I'm finally getting to watch Aggretsuko, and I am disappointed it has taken so long.
Like, it's pretty much me at work and then me at the karaoke bars.
-
Damn it. If only I had moved back to Ohio rather than California, we could be out raging at karaoke bars. Also, Aggretsuko is an awesome show.
Anyone else watch Arcane on Netflix? I don't really care about League of Legends, but I really like the setting in Arcane. It's like someone read my posts about L&L factional gameplay and settings I like and decided to make a TV show instead of a MU*. Anyways, I like the show, but it is pretty dark, creepy, and off-screen gory. If you're in a dark place right now, watch Big Mouth instead, as Arcane will not help your state of mind.

Only seen the first ep so far but Arcane on Netflix (League of Legends based animated series) is EPIC. The animation style is gorgeous, the story is solid, and it delves deeper into the game lore, locations, and characters.

I really liked the first three eps, yeah.

I love brave the animated show on netflix. Very good fantasy cliche swap. Super short, I enjoyed it a ton.
-
Hooooooly shiiiiiiit! The Yellowstone season 4 premiere was worth the extra long (fuck you, COVID) wait. Still the best drama on TV.

Does anyone threaten to kill me or my extended family in the first few minutes or accuse of me of feeding? If not, I think the adaptation of League may not be faithful.
That being said, holy shit that's gorgeous.

I am assuming it's a type of cheating, like stream sniping.
-
-
Oh, is that when you let your rank fall or start a new account so you get matched with weaker opponents and curbstomp them?
-
accuse of me of feeding
I'm old.
What's this mean?

Feeding is when you die a lot, thereby giving gold/experience to the enemy team (i.e. 'feeding' them). It happens a lot in lower ranks because people don't know where to stand, what to do, how fucked they are if they go in without vision, and thus they die a lot, and people are pretty horrible about it.
-
Thank you!
I'm still old, but now I am wiser.

That's usually referred to as smurfing! But this is more gaming conversation than I intended to spark with my joke. Arcane really is pretty amazingly animated. There's a lot to appreciate there, even from someone like me who got run out of League after two matches.

I am not entirely sure about how I feel so far about Wheel of Time.
The opening scenes of the pilot were a little jarring to me, but the more I sat with it the more I kinda-sorta appreciated the presentation, like, "here are some of the major aspects of the story that might be most objectionable, turn it off now if you just find this dumb/gross" re: the whole theme of women having the Power and hunting down men, and some women reveling in that.
I was also waaaay put off by the introduction of the CGI and practical effects for the Darkspawn, they seem surprisingly dated, but as the show went on they sort of grew on me -- and the weaving and channeling was just cool and a lot like how I pictured it.
I'm officially hooked as of the third episode, I really appreciate the casting choices and I find the characters as engaging as I did when I picked up the book, even with the dramatic changes they've already made, but I am still feeling really cautious. Large parts of the books simply haven't aged well, to put it mildly, and I am not entirely sure what they are going to do with the central twist --
***=NSFW content***
click to show-- and just hope they don't waste it with a lame reveal, but am not sure what that would entail.
I am really curious to know everyone else's takes so far?

@ominous Yes. With a cameo from Comfortable Doug.
-
@wizz I haven't watched it yet but as a more general question.
Did it feel like they are trying (possibly too hard) to create 'the next Game of Thrones'? That's kind of my main concern about the series, that its producers would try to make it into something it's not to recapture the magic of a different blockbuster series.
