Good TV

Yes, I'm enjoying Timeless for reasons other than Matt Lanter. I can't think of another series that featured time travel and regularly failing to avoid changes to history. It makes it very interesting.
-
So far only the pilot is out, but check out Insecure; surprisingly funny and the her rapping is actually surprisingly good.
-
Tyler Hoechlin's Superman > Henry Cavill's Superman.
Yeah, I said it.
FITE ME.
-
-
I didn't mind him as Superman. Worked well enough for me.
-
I've just been really tired of Superman as this morose, tortured figure. My Superman is about hope, and seeing the good in people.
Hoechlin's Superman is at peace with himself, has his act together, and makes the people around him want to be better and that is exactly what I want out of Superman.
Yes, you may all roll your eyes at me now.

Proving once again I don't know my audience, I really liked Pitch. And that's despite the fact I'm not fond and don't watch baseball (being European and all).
-
@Arkandel
Pitch reminds me of Friday Night Lights (which is maybe my favorite series ever), in that it uses baseball as a backdrop for character stories (though Pitch is probably better about baseball than FNL was about football at this point). I'm digging it so far. Hope it sticks around. -
@Cupcake I just always found Superman super uninteresting in general.
Then again I'm not American, and any superhero that keeps ranting on about the exceptionalism of America makes me roll my eyes so hard.
-
@lordbelh Superman is hella boring. Same goes for Cyclops/Jean Grey.
Now Spider-Man, there's an exceptional American superhero.
-
@Kanye-Qwest I liked the new Spiderman in the Civil War movie.
-
More TV recommendation. If you like some campyness and tired of how the Walking Dead is OMG SO SERIOUS check out Z Nation.
Love the show. It's boring the first 3 episodes, but then it picks up and it just becomes fantastic. The main guy is worth it and I love their take on zombies. Just...watch it. Now.
-
@Cadi If you're still in the first season... you're in for a looooooooooot of surprises. XD
-
@Miss-Demeanor I finished season 2 actually! I've been waiting for a few more episodes of season 3 to air so I can binge watch as much as I can all at once.
I'm way too excited about it Like more than Game of Thrones.
Please tell me this season lives up to expectation...!
-
I've been enjoying it so far! It manages to stay interesting.

In most sports shows/movies lack of being a fan of the sport is a plus to the enjoyment. Have not watched the Pitch so not commenting on it in specific but on sports fiction in general.
-
Halt and Catch Fire just finished their 3rd season. It gets a bit rocky at points, but they also had some of the best moments I've ever experienced on TV. Seasons 1 & 2 are on Netflix if you want to give them a try.
-
@Arkandel I'm American and don't watch baseball. Imagine the horror. Pitch, however, is a goddamn treasure, but I'm a sucker for sports dramas.

Anyone watch Hawaii 5.0? I hate cops shows. Hate. Hate. Hate. And this one even crosses over with whatever cop show LL Cool J is in, that I hate.
But Hawaii 5.0 has just been awesome, even if it's getting long in the tooth. It's like a buddy comedy, mixed with some drama, a little police work in the absolute loosest sense, all set in paradise.
