Young Justice and Justice League are leaving Netflix on Aug 1. Just to raise the alert, since there are so many fans of those shows (including me!) on here.
Young Justice will probably be back when the third season comes out.
True dat.
Off the side, while it might not appeal to some demographics here, for those who might like it, The Bold Type is really clever and diverse.

Because it is Summer, I rewatched Wet Hot American Summer on Netflix.
It's stupid and slapstick, but I have a soft spot for the gang from ('The State','Viva Variety','Reno 911','Stella')
...and yes, I've been working all day and with all of the DB work I've been up to my brain treated this list like a SQL query
set isolation to dirty read;
select * from cast_nam
where show_nam in ('The State','Viva Variety','Reno 911','Stella');- Michael Ian Black
- Michael Showalter
- Thomas Lennon
- Kerri Kenney-Silver
- Ken Marino
- Joe Lo Truglio
Anyway, it's a good no-stress show for the season if you dont mind lowbrow humor, and the list of celebrity cameos is insane. The follow-up is being released on Aug4.

Am I the only person who was wildly disappointed by The OA? I just finished it earlier this week and I keep thinking, like, "This is just like watching Stranger Things, if Stranger Things were about ten times further up its own ass and about a hundred times less clear in its resolution of WTF is going on."
-
@Aria I'm laughing.
-
@Ghost -- I'm unsure of the purpose of this gif unless it's meant to recreate my general feelings of "What the fuck are these people doing?" I had for the last twenty minutes of The OA.
(By which I mean both the plot and the movements.)
-
@Aria it reminds me of the last episode.
Man, how badass would that have been if they got down like cybergoths?
"*Trouble?"
"Press PLAY on my VNV Nation playlist, bruh, we got dis."
"We GOT dis." -
Also recommending GLOW. The first few episodes almost lost me but the rest more than made up for it.
-
@Paris Ditto on Glow

Did anyone watch the RL GLOW back in the day? I loved the Netflix series, and it got me super nostalgic for it. When I was 11 I was torn between my mixed desires of wanting to be a GLOW wrestler, roller derby diva, actress, or astronaut.
-
Saw Castlevania with the partner last night. Loved it.
Then, saw an episode of A'Jin. We split; she didn't like it, but I did. Anyone else have thoughts on A'Jin? Should we move to another series?

I liked A'Jin a lot. I thought the ego factor of the shades or whatever they were was neat. It was also a nice departure from the male anime lead being some super friendly boyfriend trope. He was
kind ofsociopathic. -

This is gonna sound misogynistic as hell but back when I was a kid I gave zero fucks about GLOW because I was a boogery, GI-Joe worshipping, He Man Woman Hater Club BOY who thought nothing was more awesome than the power of Hulkamania and the Ultimate Warrior.
...and then I grew up to find a lot of my old heroes who told me to say yer prayers and take your vitamins, brotha ended up being racist, sexist, homophobic drug addicted god-squadders who (not joking here, re: Ultimate Warrior) went on Alt-Right speaking tours about how faggotry was wrong.
I woulda been better off watching GLOW and Rollergames, but god damn at the time I thought the raw power moves like the Undertaker's TOMBSTONE were just amazing, and GLOW didnt have that grade of testosterone fueled roid rage power that I thought was awesome.
IF/WHEN GLOW comes back out I'll probably watch it, but if you're looking for pro wrestling roght now that treats the female wrestlers with equal respect, check out Lucha Underground on Netflix. It's fun and a lot of stories.

The WWE is slowly but surely figuring out that there are a lot of women who like to watch pro-wrestling, and even more that want to participate. It is also figuring out that a great deal of online purchases are made by women, and that, by bringing women into wrestling, you won't turn off women because it's competitive or men because ass'n'titties.
And, seriously, did you see what Charlotte did to Sasha Banks?
Edited to add: and, man, I just saw this clip of Alexa Bliss hit this move, which I've never seen before:
And then, there's Nia Jax destroying some poor girl.
Yeah, the women's division is the best one out there.

As a member of the Roaming SJW Feminist Language Police faction, I absolve you of the worry of misogyny. You were just a kid interested in stuff.

@Ghost There is a pic I found ages ago of a female wrestler that I was like... 'I need to sculpt that' as a 3d thing, back when I was doing that. It was just a shot of her bare back, wearing jeans (so nothing naughty), and I was like: "Dammit, that is epic barbarian queen girl power awesome right there, I approve really a lot."
Seriously, this (questionably work safe) is going in the PB file for the next time I need someone with muscles, if I ever play somewhere again. (The original image I had found was the one in the center, and just everything about the photo itself is wonderful, from the pose to the composition, just... art geek happy sigh. Even those jeans are frickin' cool.)

@Roz Well, to be fair, between the ages of 4-12 so many boys are walking embodiments of Mac from Its Always Sunny in Philadelphia whose interests include:
- Sweet karate moves you claim to know
- Feats of strength
- The encyclopedia knowledge of cool looking guns and other weapons of warfare
- Being able to perform pro-wrestling finishers
- The path to becoming the actual Batman.
At this time, girls were my sworn enemy, and came across to me as:
And then I hit 13 and...
Sadly, GLOW fell into my 4-12 age range at the time.

Lol you don't need to be fair! I already absolved you! (I was serious: I don't think anyone should have to worry about 'my childhood interests were not egalitarian enough.' I mean. We can worry about that in the sense of 'We should fix the part of our society that has overly strict gender rules so that children can grow up without being told they need to restrict themselves to certain types of toys and interests so as to be masculine or feminine enough,' but that's COMPLETELY DIFFERENT. )
