@Ganymede And the same reason I don't enjoy anything by Wes Anderson.
-
@Admiral I enjoyed the first season, but yeah, it definitely had the checkboxes feel to it. Likely because it's so rare to have so many different characters. I hope this soon becomes more common so that it doesn't feel so jarring.

@Cupcake What? Did season 2 at least have an ending? I was about to start watching season 1

Did not. It ended on a cliff hanger.
-
Whelp. Glad I didn't have the chance to start season 2 of Sense8 yet. I will not be.

American Gods continues to rip through the book's plot, stomp over it, kick it around, and demonstrate that you can do that without losing the very essence of the work. This is what a real adaptation of a book to a movie/series should be like, in my opinion.
My only complaint, if you can even call it that, is that it has a much more downplayed "seeing America" background than the book. In the book, you get a real feel for the weird, out-of-the-way places in the U.S. The show is concentrating a lot on making its new plot work, but it's leaving behind this crucial (to me) aspect of the book. But since it isn't the book, it works.
It might also be that they're relying on visuals to fill in a lot of those gaps, but everything else keeps getting in the way. That said, the visuals are stunning.
Aside from that, I have been rewatching Burn Notice lately (on the fifth season now) and I am totally jonesing to play a spy. Also, fuck, I tried to stat Michael Westen in CofD in my head and I gave up after the tenth Crafts specialty. -_-

@Coin I've been trying to find someplace where a viable Michael and Fiona team would work. Actually, a Michal Fiona Sam team, or a Michael Fiona Sam Jesse team would not go amiss...
A Lost motley that solves "problems"?

Werewolf, too. Werewolf works great.
Michael's the Elodoth, Fiona's the Rahu, Sam's the Cahalith, and Jesse's the Irraka. Barry's their Ithaeur. Maddy and Nate are Wolf-Blooded. Sugar's a human who doesn't really know they're werewolves, he just thinks they're crazy fucking skilled.
-
Which makes Michael and Fiona's relationship frighteningly complicated, but on the surface level, that could work.
Michael the Acanthus, Fiona the Obrimos, Sam the...oh, hell if I know. Except his Shadowname is obviously The Chin. Or Chuck Finley.

It doesn't make it complicated. Why would it? CofD werewolves can be in relationships. That got booted in 2nd Ed.
In Mage, it's much better to do it with Orders.
Michael's Guardians of the Veil, Fiona is Free Council, while Sam's Adamantine Arrow and Jesse's probably Silver Ladder (now, he used to be a Guardian).
-
I did not know that! Sweet. But I feel strongly in my heart that Fiona would be Obrimos. Blowing shit up just makes her so damn happy.

Yes, yes. I get that sir, I surely do!
(Classifying pop culture characters is the best).
I'm mid through season 7 and kinda sad about it. I think my next series will be The West Wing, though.

Fringe for me, I think.
Fringe is one of my favorites. A lot of God-Machine inspiration to be had!

Double post, but I finally caught up and finished season 2 of Supergirl. And it was (hurr) super. I also love that both Supergirl and Agent's of S.H.I.E.L.D. are entirely blatant in shitting on Donald Trump and other American fascists.
