@aria SUPER jealous you've gotten to meet Titus. He is hands down my favorite comedian.
-
@miss-demeanor He sticks around a lot after his shows and signs merchandise and takes pictures with his fans if you ask nicely -- which is funny, because the first time I met him was in, like..... 2002? 2003? He was still doing "Norman Rockwell is Bleeding". And my friend had just dug up the photo and tossed it up on a Facebook a few weeks earlier when I saw him last year, so I whipped out my phone and showed him. He cracked up because his assistant, my boyfriend, and I all agreed he's some kind of Dick Clark vampire-robot that doesn't age. It's weird.
-
@aria It IS! He will join ranks with Paul Rudd and Toby Maguire in the Celebrity Highlanders.

The Magicians!

@arkandel Good but f'd up show.

@coin Sure is.

End of the F'ing World on Netflix is awesome sauce. Need to buy the comic version now.
Excited about Electric Dreams, Altered Carbon, season 2 of Legion, and read apparently there is going to be a John Wick TV series.
-
@buttercup Saw the ad for end of the world, want to see it. Haven't gotten around to it, but it's on the list.
-
@ortallus It is absolutely fantastic. I fell in love with both of the main characters. Give it through episode three.

Unrelated but...
Those of you in relationships. Is there anything worse then when your partner binge watches without you? I fell asleep once and she finished the Magicians season 1. I never watched it since and she is current. Like, if I don't care about the show then go for it. Which is most shows and anything involving 'dundun' beeps and dudes solving crimes (unless it is Batman, True Detective, the Wire, etc.).
So in retaliation like a mature and communicative adult. I binge watched Stranger Things season 1.
She retaliated with Star Trek: Discovery.
Am I crazy? Is it just me? Is this co-tv-dependence?
I'm now single again!

@buttercup I have loved Electric Dreams so far. It reminds me a lot of The Outer Limits, but with better acting. I think a lot of people are comparing it to Black Mirror, but I don't think that's quite fair, Black Mirror has a specific emphasis on how technology breaks us down, whereas Electric Dreams has a much broader range.
-
@cupcake Oh, awesome. I used to love the Outer Limits. And I adore Black Mirror of course and could dig a broader thematic scope. I think it will killed and finished this weekend.
-
The Good Place is still that good. I like any show that doesnβt back down from a challenging plot, even if that plot isnβt trying to push boundaries or rip from the headlines.

@buttercup
I would be on your partners side in this, but I don't get the whole watching tv together thing in general. Yeah if I am in a relationship and we can watch something together cool, but if I have time to watch something and want to I will, if i know they want to see it and haven't yet I will avoid mentioning spoilers, but that is as far as I go. Hell I will even watch it with them again if they wanted but not going to not watch so I can watch with someone else later. -
@thatguythere Lol, I acknowledge I may be the unhealthy one in this aspect of a relationship.
To be fair I kicked her out because she stole money out of my son's piggy bank to buy cigarettes because she was broke and not because of the binge watching without me. She came home to find her stuff stacked in nice piles outside the garage. She planned to pay it back, of course... and then mentioned she had done it five times before (I had no idea) and always paid it back. My six year old son found out on his birthday because he wanted to buy a video game with his birthday money.
That said, I should finally finish season 1 of the Magicians. Lol.

Insofar as the binge watching, yes.
I have a similar problem as you did. My partner is studying to be a PA, but she is in the portion where she also has to do rotations at other locations, and therefore has odd hours. It makes binge watching an impossible together-activity. I like watching things I want to watch when I want, but I prefer being in a relationship with her (and thus not have to worry about our kids together). So, I suffer by playing Persona 5, working out, going out with friends when she's studying at home, and so on.
Go watch The Magicians Season 1 now. And good for you kicking her the fuck out. Who the fuck steals from a six year old? I would've crotch-punched her myself.
