      At the advice of a few people (@Sunny and @Coin I think mostly) I have finally started watching Person of Interest. It's alright and I am having a fun round of spot the guest star.

      So far - September from Fringe, Clarke's mom on The 100, Laura Barton from Age of Ultron.

      I'm a rodeo clown.

        Just watched the latest Mr. Robot. It might be the best show of the summer.

        The level of mindfuckery last night was truly fucking great. It blew their Down the Rabbit Hole episode out of the water. I hadn't been that impressed with it, but last night I was like WTF.

        I'm really enjoying it. The guy who plays Elliot is awesome. I'm at the point where I won't even be disappointed by the inevitable "Fight Club" reveal, though I'm still hoping they do something different. Somehow.

        After this latest episode, I think we can definitely see something similar, but different, popping up. Which is great.

        I've loved Mr. Robot all the way through and I want every single person to watch it, but as a disclaimer I am a total and utter sucker for dystopian modern-cyberpunk bullshit. The season finale was almost a little too frustratingly vague re: the Fight Club twist, but I am definitely looking forward to Season 2.

        Thanks for the clarification on The Strain. I don't necessarily agree, but the objections make waaaaaaaay more sense than 'boring'.

        However:

        @Coin
        Fringe.

        @Cobaltasaurus
        Nah.

        HelloRaptor can't even

        Fringe is so amazing up until the third season and then just drops so hard it makes me want to punch holes in the universe. There's literally a little scene dedicated to promoting a new stupid fucking Samsung (or whatever) tablet in the third season. I...just...SO...ANGRY

          Fringe is worth staying until the end just for Walter.

            I tried watching a few episodes of Mr. Robot. I just couldn't get into it. Fringe is awesome though you do have to adjust your head to make the transition from monster of the week to megaplot.

              Does it ever stop being "Hey we have a problem, and there is this hidden science that can fix it, at least briefly" every episode?

              I have a waggish sense of humor.

                That's more or less the gimmick the show is named for, so...no, not really. But the metaplot is cool enough and puts the "monster of the week" segments in enough of a context to make it bearable and even awesome sometimes.

                EDIT: Actually just to be extra clear, I stopped watching by the end of the 3rd season (out of four), so change my answer to "not really...maybe???"

                  Uh... Fringe has 5 seasons.

                          Dominion continues being horrifyingly bad.

                          The Strain's last episode, boldly titled "The Battle of Red Hook" had literally nothing change (as per The Strain's usual) to the point where the battle felt more like a scuffle, really.

                          Why am I posting this on Good TV?

                          That said, both of these shows have made me realize that sometimes the worst TV plotlines are comparable to the best MU scenes. Like, "The Battle of Red Hook" would be all right in a MU--as a big fight everyone gets a turn or two in. Dominion's weird and boring story arc would work wonders on a MU.

                          I guess medium really does change a lot (unsurprisingly).

                            I had to look that up real quick because I wasn't sure I was matching the name to the face, and I actually full on lol'd hard enough my mother in law who's visiting ducked around the corner to ask if I was alright. >_>

                                Not so much TV as it is movies, but Turbo Kid was fucking awesome.

                                  Seconded. Turbo Kid is perfection. They bundled every bad post apoc cheese with bmx cheese. It is sn orgy of gore and shoutouts to the late seventies and eighties.

                                      Would have watched anyway, but knowing Chloe from Don't Trust The Bitch In Apartment 23 is playing the part, absolutely watching. >_>

                                          Probably not. Jane's role was short-lived, while Chloe was actually the titular "bitch in apartment 23".

                                          Also, if we're really doing this, don't you both mean "knowing Gia Goodman from Veronica Mars is playing the part"? Since, you know, that was her first long-running role. 😛

                                            I mean neither of those things, since I still haven't watched Breaking Bad and didn't really get into Veronica Mars.

                                            For the former I hadn't seen anything about it until after it started and I was already pretty full up on TV, so will probably download it at some point now that it's done.

                                            I didn't dislike VM or anything, I watched a bit in the beginning, it just sort of slipped off the radar and I never felt really compelled to go back and watch it.

                                            Bitch, though, was fucking hysterical and I watched all of it. 😛
