I tried, in earnest, to watch Outlander. In fact, I got to Season 2, Episode 5 before I had to officially call it quits.
I want those long hours of my life back. For fucks sake.

I kinda feel like this should be in the Bad TV thread. XD

Outlander is one of those shows that I wanted so badly to like. I was so excited when it first came out. It ticked off so many "right up my alley" boxes - time travel, WW2, highlanders, medicine, female leads. And yet... meh.
-
I still love Outlander, tbh, although it's not nearly as good as it used to be.
But why would you force yourself to watch a show you don't like for over an entire season?

Go back and watch some good cartoons, then, like Adventure Time or Hilda.
I've given up on watching "adult" media, as I don't find it interesting any more.
-
@boneghazi For me I think it's some kind of perverse optimism. Like... I want to like it, so I keep hoping it will get better? I still watch it, kinda halfheartedly.
-
As someone who spite-watches entire shows that are deemed of cultural significance, my answer is usually so I have a well-informed counterpoint when someone interrogates me for not holding it in quite the same esteem!
That coupled with nothing better to do.
-
Speaking of time travel, Loki is pretty fun so far. Plus, first openly bisexual character in the MCU? I got chills to hear him admit it so casually, it was awesome!
-
-
Even with as much fondness as I have had for Dr. Who, I think the question posed was more likely "what if actually good?" Lol.
-
@ifrit You know it's not a Doctor Who episode because it wasn't based in Cardiff or Victorian London.
-
@quinn Truth. I live in Cardiff and it's like 'oh I recognise that "alien street"'.
-
Tom Hiddleston is only two years older than Sophia Di Martino. I can't tell you how much I love that.
-
I finally got around to watching season four of The Handmaid's Tale because with pandemic brain, I just absolutely could not watch something that dark for the longest time (except Criminal Minds reruns because apparently those don't count?)....
No spoilers for anyone, but JFC, was that season ending just so satisfying.
-
So satisfying!
My only real complaint about the season are all the extra June "eye shots". Like...we get it, she's tough and intense and going through some stuff. Move along.
Definitely need to watch something more happy now though, haha.
-
@bluebird Yes. I feel like with my general lack of applying makeup over the course of the pandemic, I am now way more familiar with the up-close appearance of Elizabeth Moss than my own face.
-
Hilda is what every Changeling: the Dreaming campaign wished it was.
-
Welp. I'm adding that to my watchlist.
-
@ganymede I second this! That show is amazing.
