Australians have had their say, with 61.6 per cent of the nation voting yes to legalising same-sex marriage.

Every morning my youngest has an Eggo blueberry waffle. He has for months. He doesn't want deviation from that. Try to give him eggs, sausage, and toast? Tantrum until he gets a blueberry waffle. Cereal? Nope. Blueberry waffle or death.

We had dinner at about 1800.

He just threw a tantrum in the kitchen, we couldn't figure out why. Thirsty? Nope. Want some Goldfish crackers? Nope. Have some broccoli, champ? Nope. He kept pointing at the toaster. Mrs. Faceless gave him a blueberry waffle to see if that's what he wanted. It's nearly 2000. I'm about to slap a dress on this dude and call him Eleven. I catch him with a nose bleed and I'm taking him out before it's too late.

ETA: First time he's wanted a waffle in the evening. Hence the general surprise on our end. I know it won't be continuing, because that's for breakfast and I'm not about to help him form a bad habit.

            I have kittens!!!

They are teeny and cuddly and sweet and full of personality. Both are black, one all black beautiful short haired boy and the other one a fluffy medium or long haired girl with a little patch of white on her belly.

They have cute little raspy meows, the loudest purrs ever, and already have reset my computer Home bar from the bottom of my screen to the side and I don’t know how the fuck to get it back again.

All my teens are charmed. Even Emo Eldest makes baby talk and kissy face at them and now spends evenings in the family room instead of holed up in his room. They are remarkably tolerant of and getting used to the 3 year old. The last couple of weeks has really fucking sucked, but they are adorable and awesome and soothing.

My children eat what I give them. If they do not want it, they will go hungry. If they cry or throw a tantrum, they are sent to their rooms until they calm down -- and then it's back to the table to eat or wait until it's time to go to school, take a nap, or go to bed.

@ganymede that's pretty much my outlook of it. If I didn't eat as a kid? I slept at the table. Have the pictures to prove it. He wants a waffle though and I want eggs? Not a huge hurdle for me to make both. Dude wants what he wants, I can't fault that. He's not malnourished and eats fine throughout the rest of the day. Breakfast is just his one sticking point.

Faceless Jr. however is becoming quickly acquainted with the concept of timeout. The State says that I can't powerbomb him, so I typically resort to timeout in his room after talking it over with his speech therapist. I'll have to take a page from your book and try to timeout-reattempt-consequence method though.

@faceless Amen to that. I have similar photos of me face-down in a plate of mashed turnips... Hate turnips.
My kids are/were raised on a similar protocol. You will eat, if you do not eat you get it for breakfast. Etcetera.

Exceptions, of cause, for when I cook pasta. Over three decades on this planet and I still have no idea how to accurately judge pasta when cooking it... so I cook it all.

I've gotten to where sometimes I just cook half the package.

I'm not sure if it's just the mystery of pasta or growing up in a big family and never losing that tendency to cook in volume.

Look, do I have to freakin' go down and cook for you? I already have to get you hammered off of bourbon.

                          Look, I'm a baker.

I can cook well in two instances:
                          a) if I have a recipe.
                          b) I'm the magical combination of drunk/high. For some reason, I become a kitchen savant whose only goal in life is to feed everyone around me.

Also: heehee, you said going down and referenced me in the same sentence. 😄

                                      Huh.

Direct reference to Wonder Woman on Legends of Tomorrow. Only a couple of weeks after a direct Bruce Wayne callout, by name, on Arrow. And a callout to Smallville/Post-Flashpoint Superman by referencing Chloe on Supergirl.

I wonder what this means for the DC TV Universe.

@bobotron IMHO, just fanservice. If they were anywhere near using characters like that on TV we'd have had the PR machine churning in our nerdy faces 24/7 for months in advance. The casting choices in particular would have been up front and center.

                                        It's just name-dropping.
