RL things I love

When a day seems bleak, and this one has, I pull up The Raincoats first record and end up grinning so hard it hurts by the end of the first song. And that's before they do the best cover of the Kink's "Lola" ever.
-
@Misadventure If so, hold on to your socks. Don't click if you're afraid of spoilers, though. It's a little spoilery.

I assumed Sunny's "I love when Garnet sings" was more general show love, versus specific recent episode.
The episode with...uhm. Explaining what Garnet is. When she is fighting the other Crystal Gem. That one is my favorite, that has Ruby and Sapphire in it. The song is great. But she actually sings a lot. Pearl sings less. Garnet is always hilarious.
...I am nerding out about Steven Universe.
Things I love? You guys. =D
ETA: @Sammi -- that episode. Yes. That one. There've been a few others. I actually DVR the show. -.-

Not sure if this should go here or the E3 thread, but, despite initially being unable to find one, i was able to pre-order the PIPBoy edition of Fallout 4 for the XB1 last night.
-
DAMMIT! I wanted that... now its out of stock.
I must lurk until it comes back. >.>

Pinterest. It solves all the things when I need to find creative End-of-Year gifts for my daughter's teachers. Thank you, custom Starbucks sleeves.
-
@VulgarKitten I love and hate Pinterest. It's kind of the devil. We need to be friends on it! I want to look through your boards.
-
I really appreciate the friends I have that are able to take the irregular occasion of me fucking up or being a dick. And come back from it and things being as they were, I feel so many people these days are very unforgiving in that regard.
I also recently learned I can make more complicated sandwiches at home. Who knew.
-
@Olsson You're not supposed to make sandwiches. That's women's work!

WhatsApp or any chat app like it that lets me text my loved ones overseas without texting fees.
India, why are you so far away?

WhatsApp is totally a thing in my country. Everyone uses it.
-
What's the advantage of that over any other kind of IM (since you need a data plan for either)? I mean, why not use Hangouts or even something heavier, like Skype chat, for the same thing?
-
I don't know of any advantage. I just happen to use WhatsApp because a friend in Singapore recommended it. For some reason I need to text Nepal, Tibet, China, Singapore and India more often than expected.
-
@Misadventure I guess user adoption is an advantage in and of itself.
-
WhatsApp is pretty minimalist and functional, so that's good.
-
And Skype acts twitchy a lot. It's pretty awful. I removed it.
-
The few friends I have use Skype. Anything cross over with that?
-
Skype seems to bug out a lot on my laptop. They also decided to wipe the call credit I had, so I gave up.

To me that's the determining factor. Even if I find an awesome, light, interplatform robust chat client with a great UI it's completely useless if no one I know uses it.
So my own answer is Google Talk with FB chat as a fallback.

I had never had Swad amba haldi pickle (fresh turmeric pickle) before buying a jar as an experiment a few days ago. It is great.
