RL things I love

My mama heart is happy, the kiddo I've been most worried about is home from college for the weekend to meet up with friends, and pretty much they talked my ear off the whole way home when I picked them up and things are going a lot better.
-
@macha Have you ever used a pumice stone? I like the results and it's presumably less slippery than oil.
-
Seconding the pumice stone. I build up 'hard heels' really quickly. Having a pumice stone to use in the shower has done WONDERS for how nice my feet feel.
-
You can also use one to remove stains from toilets. Just soak it in water first.
The more you know...

When what sounded like an entertaining evening turns out to be bloody brilliant. If the rest of the gigs I'm planned to go to in the next 12 months turn out that well, I'll be a very happy entity.

I woke up ~midnight to hear my husband talking quietly. Turned over to see my kitten Calypso rubbing up on his face and him telling her how much he loves her and other sappy stuff.

Last night Dad went up to change after the fam all went out to dinner. Mom muted the tv when she heard him cooing and saying sweet things to my cat upstairs. It was adorable. Then mom shouted "He doesn't even say nice things like that to ME!" and we all died.

CBD.
Bless you, CBD roller. I have not had to take a pain day yet this season. I just rub this stuff on my wrists and the pain evaporates. I CAN TYPE. The difference a few minutes makes is "relief cry" territory, too. I am so glad my body chemistry makes this work.
It probably has gained me several years of life (and CERTAINLY has made a big difference in the quality of the years I have left), because this shit was my "try this before going on narcotics permanently" hail mary.
-
@sunny What roller do you use? (She asks, trying not to get her hopes up)

It's by Ceres Garden.
It has St John's Wort, Ginseng, and algae in it (special algae? Idk). 300mg THC 300mg CBD, but that's for the entire solid, which is 3.4 oz. (My solid lasts me a good 6-8 months). You'll want to talk to a budtender regarding the THC being in your system / how much you are getting in you; it's my understanding that it's pretty minimal, but my job doesn't care if there's traces of THC in my system. You don't want one of the products that has removed ALL of the THC, because of...um, the vehicle of how it works? Sorry, my lingo is bad, I haven't had a convo about this with a doctor in years. The THC carries the CBD to the right spots like an adorable donkey with a hat on.
You should pay about $30 for it, which means it's not a hugely expensive experiment.
The specific pain it's dealing with today is joint pain brought on by the changes in barometric pressure related to sharp fluctuations in temperature (aka arthritis due to season change). It also helps (for me) with the similar pain that comes with the metal supporting my bones expanding and contracting with those same pressure changes. It does NOT help with fracture pain (or does so minimally enough that I don't notice), and muscle pain has been hit or miss. It DOES help with sore feet from being on them for too long.
-
@sunny I'm not worried about some minimal THC. I need something to help with the pain that's not getting me stoned out of my mind.
-
I feel NO psychoactive effects from this solid, but everybody's bodies are different so I can't promise for absolute certain. Hearing that though 100% I do think you should try it. I think it's worth a shot, because if it DOES help, it's a damn game changer.
-
@sunny I apparently can't take non "huge rips" from the bong - so I end up out of my gourd.
So.. I am trying some pens, and edibles.. and maybe this.
-
Topical should be a really good solution!! And Ceres Garden is a really stable/reliable brand, their products are super consistent (so you don't have to worry about the top half of the solid being one strength and the bottom being another).

It has St John's Wort,...
Keep in mind that St. John's Wort is, basically, a drug. And like all drugs can interact in bad ways with other drugs. You'll want to investigate how it affects any medication you're already taking especially if you're already on an antidepressant.

St. John's Wort also fucks with hormonal birth control, FYI.

Yeah, this is why I mentioned it was in there. o.o

They have some other topicals that might work, too.
But lord, they have some pre-rolls I wish for.

Today is the day I bought the Switch.
Today is the day I schooled my children horribly at Mario Kart 64.
Today is the day they learned that if you take yourself as a serious gamer at age 8, you may end up crying at the end of the day.
I'd feel more guilty if the boy wasn't crowing about having mad skills and being an O.G. at Street Fighter 2.
Today is the day I comforted my boy for not being as good as me at Street Fighter.
But I feel no guilty at all.
