In our defense, politics is something people do get RL Angery about. :^)

Ordered a TV stand. Inexpensive one, but still better than the rubbermaid bin I've been using since I moved in.
Welp. Time to wait for the replacement one to be shipped out.

I have a queer kid. They constantly have to deal with Christian ideology mixed up with nationalistic idolatry to not be harassed at school. Relatives constantly post articles and quote things from mainstream evangelical authors and teachers that remind my child that they are evil, mentally ill, a child rapist (which is rich coming from pastors as they are up there with coaches as far as a profession whose member molest and rape people), who should be shunned by society because of other people's "sincerely held religious beliefs".
I have no sympathy for American Christians. If you took out your own trash, then there wouldn't be an issue. Unfortunately you don't. The Christians I know that are willing to push back against their vocal bigots are few and far between, and I understand why--I lost everything, /everything/ in my life at one point because I disobeyed my pastor/church's beliefs and followed through with having my ex prosecuted for raping and beating me instead of being a better spouse who wouldn't provoke him, and thus was subject to "church discipline" aka shunning. I have helped many others deal with shunning from not denouncing and fully accepting their gay or trans child, getting divorced, coming out, etc.
I'm glad some Christians are waking up, but this kind of thing was rampant when I was a believer 20 years ago and from all the pain and suffering I have personally witnessed it has not improved much.
I know I have fuck lot to answer for for what I unwitting and wittingly participated in/looked the other way on when I was in the church. So I've tried to give back.
But I don't feel sorry for people who feel bad they might have to defend their beliefs when their brothers and sisters make my child have to defend their right to exist every single damn day.

He understood the law. He just tried to intimidate because he thought he was above the law.

And my own personal gripe. My kids go back to (high!!!) school next week. I love summer, I love having everyone on relaxed home schedules, I love getting to hang out with my bigs, etc. I am always sad when it's back to school time. :(. And my god in 4 years I will have 3 kids in college/trade school and one elementary!!!!

@mietze Shunning is wildly popular these days, but less so in churches.
-
I empathize. I am allergic to pennicilin and also 3 other antibiotics. Basically I take a Z-pack for any infection, its kind of the only choice.

You and me both. I have been lazy and relaxed all summer long and now it comes to an end.

I just had somebody come into my office and try to talk me into adding an international feature to their boss's phone without knowing what country he's going to. She emailed me after business hours on Friday saying it was urgent. I told her I needed the country. No response. I emailed her this morning. No response. She just came into my office to say she doesn't know but could I just add it anyway. Then gave me attitude when I said I couldn't.
I offered to add every international plan to his phone to ensure we got the right one. She didn't like that solution.

@Sunny It sounds like someone who screwed up by doing things at the last second and she's trying to shift the blame.

There is an apartment complex, that I am not allowed to give the name of, who is not complaint with their fire systems and has not been for four months. We have reported them to the fire marshal who fined them $8000 for this non-compliance.
And instead of paying their fine and fixing the problems. They have instead filed a lawsuit against our company for the $8000 they have to pay stating it is our fault that the repairs we've been telling them to make for 6 months, that they did not want to pay for, were not done.
Fuck I hate people.
ETA: We knew of the problem six months ago. We reported them four months ago. They had 2 months before we reported to fix the issue. Six months is still too damn long.

@Jaded I'm not in the legal system, but I'd like to think whoever is deciding that case (judge, jury, wise old owl, whoever) not only throws it out but adds a few thousand dollars of "wasting the court's time" money.
I'd like to think that.

On this note, look up Ohio Revised Code s. 2323.51.

WTH? How is this the time for that?

Companies that interview you and then fill the position internally.
Assholes, I wore heels for that.
