In the case of the altar, I was mostly concerned about the weight of the spire crashing down on the statue of the Pieta. I mean, yes, it's stone, but the spire weighed something like 700 tons. Lead and oak are heavy, y'all.

This whole last 6 months can go right to hell. While there has been some good in it, mostly it has just been a pile of crap.

1. My mom passed on unexpectedly.
2. My wife gets diagnosed with clinical depression (so do I, but I seem to be able to at least function for the most part) which puts her on medical leave for a few weeks.
3. After the medical leave ends, Wife develops chronic daily migraines, possibly due to the medication for her depression.
4. Due to migraines, wife put on medical leave for (upcoming on) four months because she can't drive of function during the now daily migraines, while people try to figure out what is going on with her, with little to no effect. CT scan negative for anything, trying to get MRI has been a total mess even though it has been approved.
5. Due to medical leave, money gets tight because wife is getting no pay and we end up going deeper into debt, but that's ok because we have some meager savings put away, a expected tax refund, and supplemental insurance for her medical leave which should help ease the pain a bit.
6. 45's tax 'cuts' cost us thousands instead of the normal refund money we have gotten for years, totally wiping out what measly savings we had.
7. Supplemental medical insurance which is supposed to cover things like being out for medical leave DENIES the claim for medical leave, thus leaving us without an expected relief from financial woes...which sends my wife back into the deep end of the depression from which she was starting to emerge from.

I mean, I am thankful we both have families that will help us, so we are not as fucked as we could be, but I hate that I have to ask for help.

I was on Zoloft and would get wicked headaches that'd lay me out for hours during the adjustment period. Might be that...?

@TiredEwok Could be medication related, but she should be over any adjustment period by now. It's been months.

@TiredEwok Seconded. Years back, tried this, same result. Cure was worse than the disease in a very real sense. Definitely worth checking out, and I hope other meds are tried. There's a reason we have a bunch of them as options now, this being a non-trivial one.

ETA: Has she been kept on the same dosage the entire time? Because all those shitty side effects will happen every damn time they increase or decrease the dose.

@TiredEwok As far as I know her dosage has been set for quite some time, but I must admit I am not privy to every subtle change they have made to her medications.

That being said if the doctors are ordering CT scans, MRIs and other tests, I think they might have exhausted the idea this is a side effect, but I am not a doctor so I don't know anything for sure.

Lost my job a month ago, unemployment has been non-communicative, not one place I've applied to has gotten back to me, my account's overdrawn once and last I checked I had $35 in my bank account, which will overdraw again in a couple days on a loan to the bank that's almost paid off. I'm getting kicked out of my home in June, and I was supposed to be moving to Texas to a room that a friend has for me, so I'm not really sure what to do about the job thing if I only have a month if someone were to hire me tomorrow. The only reason I can move at all is because my mom is willing to drive me, otherwise I'd just be homeless, I guess.

You should ... not spend money on a fucking gaming computer after you have been out of work for a while, and (probably only went back to work when your computer died), but instead put the money you're getting from a new job in FIXING THE FUCKING HOLES IN YOUR HOUSE.

Or you could just screw yourself out of another months of rent when I fucking bounce a month early because THERE IS NON STOP FUCKING SQUEAKING and SCRATCHING next to my fucking bed.

Not really RL Anger, more like RL Sad. Broke up with my girlfriend today. It was mutual. Nobody cheated. Nobody lied. Nobody did anything wrong. Said how great each other was. She wants kids and it's not something I really want myself. Couldn't figure a way out and ignoring it wasn't going to make the issue go away.

It was a great relationship, nothing horrible. No arguments. Just....didn't work. And I'm left at a loss.
