It's really boss to see in play. Our game is a constant swirl of people vying for status, doing things to impress people with Authority or Commander or other Abiding Status that allows them to grant Status. It makes the social game a viable and flowing thing, and I think would do well on most any MU*, especially a MU* that goes through and has the 'WAAH WAAH WHY ARE YOU USING YOUR SOCIAL STATS' issue.

What spheres play best together? The things that have rules out for the currently are:

• Mortals (+)
• Vampire
• Werewolf
• Demon

From my understanding Demon is pretty ST intensive, is it not?

Everything is ST intensive now. More so than it was before, anyway.

Vampire/Werewolf are natural pairings.
Demon/Mage can work.
Changeling/Demon might work.

GMC pretty much excludes some spheres at the moment unless you're willing to house rule their existence for 2.0 until their own splats pan out. Is that the case or are you specifically interested in spheres which play well together and are out for 2.0 ?

What plays well together and will eventually have a 2.0. AND will have something that can be tied toward cross-sphere. Werewolf has spirits which can be everyone's problem. Demon has angels which can be everyone's problem. Vampire ... doesn't have anything.

Mage + Werewolf doesn't play well together.
I don't know how Demon + Mage would play well together.

I might be back to running a single sphere game.

That's true. Or you could introduce your own universal threat in the metagame while allowing each sphere's own baddies to deal with their own menaces - after all non-staff STs would need plot devices like that.

It's hard to say what Mage plays well with in 2.0. It's just so hard to launch games in fact with unpublished material because a few (?) months from now when the actual books launch it'll be a bitch to put the genie back in the bottle.

Otherwise Beast plays well with just about everything by design, I think, so you might want to consider that as well. Especially since at least one version of its rules, early and prone to changing but out is in the wild. And I didn't even intend for that to be a pun.

The Strix can be everyone's problem. Pretty much any ephemeral can. Same goes for the Idigam.

Demon + Mage would be fantastic together, but only if you don't mind hte fact that they willl chase each other in circles and try to pin the other down constantly. Their powers and themes are similar enough to be awesome but opposed enough to provide an interesting tension dynamic.

Werewolf can play well with anything, especially given hat Oher Things can be full members of packs now.

They are what you make of htem. None of them play well or poorly with each oher by default.

WtF2e actually mentions the Strix in a sidebar under 'Tengu'. In a very 'really weird but useful allies sometimes folded into packs' sort of way. They beat us to this one.

People somehow believe these books are for serious and have missed the joke entirely.

Their eye-color and implied attitudes are different from those of the Strix, yes.
