Kinds of Mu*s Wanted
-
*Fading Suns (I so very much want this. Have contemplated trying to start one a few times.)
*NWoD 2.0 but M/M+ only
*Single Sphere NWoD
*I am a weird person who loves historical themed places that are in the 1800s and onwards
*Shadowrun (though I wouldn't know my elbows from my ass in the new rules now)
*Buffy I really had fun on Mystick Krewe even though I detest the TV show, ick.
*Battlestar (with hefty theme control. Please no marines that sob about getting shot and/or disobey orders in combat and leave the line to go rescue kittens.) It's interesting to play a game where the PCs are in theory cooperating with each other towards a shared survival goal, however, with slow pacing it often devolves into PvP over who's fucking who, in my observation. That's kind of meh.) -
@Bobotron, it's true, we need more outside-the-box thinking.
-
My only real problem with a fading suns mush has been finding the books. I basically only have one and have no clue what edition it is.
-
I'd like to see a mu* based on Bryan Sanderson's Mistborn trilogy. He had a pretty unique magic system based on metals and about three different classes based on it. I'm pretty sure, some company turned it into an rpg already.
-
I know this will never happen most likely, but a Castle Falkenstein MUSH.
I want that probably more then any other kind of mush ever. -
Oooh. I would love a Fading Suns mu* again. I had fun on it previously. Until the rather crazy set in.

-
Setting definitely original. Mechanics GURPS would work but I would likely use Fudge or it's descendant Fate. the card based mechanics of the original were a mess and really easy to game break. Honestly for the setting I would deal with any mechanics.

There is one, but it is kind of like fate. It's tricksy, too.I, for one, would like to see some Spelljammer happen. But not in a D&D-proper game, because level-based games are for scrubs. As is my standard wish, it should include SPACE of some kind.

By SPACE, I mean piloting a ship object of some kind.

All virtual space systems suck. This is all. (And by extension, any virtual vehicle/room/anything system sucks).
-
Psuedo-historical + some supernatural NPC forces early 18th century Caribbean, ala' Pirates of the Caribbean.
Sci-fi based on David Brinn's Uplift Wars series.
Urban-fantasy based on Lev Grossman's The Magicians series.
-
I have kicked around the idea of an original-setting spy themed mu* but am kind of hindered by a lack of coder. Ah well. Maybe someday.
-
@Jennkryst I feel like I am missing something with the 'or not' comment.

I have really wanted to do pirates + lovecraft for a while. Some day...

Or, from a different perspective, are awesome-fun!

Because it was a WoD mod?
-
I see. I'm not particularly looking for suggested places. I simply thought it might be fun for people to have an idea for what people would like to see for mus. Maybe it'll even give people who want to make a mu ideas for what to do.

I'd love to see a turn based space/vehicle system. One that didn't demand on RL timing and such like at ATS or BattleTech MUX. That's one thing I miss about table top converted to MU* and why so many of them don't work well or at all. Systems based around turn based don't translate to real time, or end up taking a billion hours for any sort of combat (I'm looking at you WoD!).
I would GLADLY toss my ShadowRun code, if I had a MUX based vehicle code that let me do turn based battle tech. I'd set the world on Solaris VII, pre-clan invasion (People who wanted to play clanners would have to play one of the spy merc companies). If the game got big enough you could start stretching out into faction warfare, but, travel time being what it is, and the very nature of the battletech universe when it came to war... that would be problematic, thus Solaris VII.
You could have underworld, faction based conflicts, pirates come a slumming, bounty hunters, etc. It'd be awesome, but, I won't do it without turn based mech combat without using an external app.
Though I guess you could use something like Roll20 for it...

SCP - If I ever made a MU*, it would probably be adapted from SCP/MIB/Torchwood/UNIT/Other secret government agency dealing with paranormal stuff themes. WoD can technically work like that, but it's often like pulling teeth to try to app an MiB or SCP style Hunter. Anyone not familiar with SCP: http://www.scp-wiki.net/ (The wiki is the entire thing)
Super Smash Brothers - Yes, I know, it sounds ridiculous. There was actually once a place called Videoland, but I never played on it so this has nothing to do with that. But I find the idea of a bunch of video game characters in some crazy video game universe doing video game stuff to be interesting.
Like, not, "Oh, hey, let's get all of these themes together and do stuff!" No, like, the world physics would be video games. In the Mario world you can hit boxes and get coins and stuff. It'd just be a world where shit just kind of works that way. Outside the Mushroom Kingdom you'd have Hyrule and stuff. Flesh out the politics of the world and run plots, then bam, you have a game.
Batman - Just a Batman game. Not every comic game has to be inclusive of every comic ever. An interesting theme could be that Arkham has been taken over and now it is functionally its own city (If this overlaps with Arkham City, I apologize, I've never gotten to play it, I only have the first game). Like, the people in Arkham function as their own society, which gives villains stuff to do other than go out and be nuts. They can have social. And then there's the rest of Gotham, where you've got Batman and other crazy people willing to put on a suit and fight crime, or you're just a normal person dealing with it all.
Power Rangers - I'm not going to actually describe the MU*, I'm just going to leave this here: http://powerrangers.wikia.com/wiki/Hexagon
World of Darkness: Mad Max - I know that most of you play WoD, so I thought I would propose something for my audience to enjoy. Imagine a World of Darkness where Mages are riding around on magical motorcycles (maybe the wheels are magic), werewolves roam the earth in packs, wild and free! But at night, a huge swarm of bats fly out and then vampires are attack! There could be all sorts of crazy supernatural colonies, vampire politics that revolve around a gas trade, and a world where the Drive skill is actually useful.
Pathfinder: Nine Hells - Seriously, I want a Pathfinder game that takes place in the Nine Hells. I don't even care if it has code, I just want to do RP in the Nine Hells, it's my favorite place. Well, I'm not sure how similar it is to the D&D 3.5 Nine Hells, but I prefer to play Pathfinder (I am working on a book, after all), so I assume their Hell is better. We would play Devils who are promoted through hard work, betrayal, and manipulation.
Robots - I know this is veeery general, but a game with robots. Not Mega Man style robots, are they're more like metal people. But robots who are only questionably people. They get brain upgrades, have crazy sci-fi socio-political interactions, all sorts of nutty body switching and human oppression. This isn't much of a pitch, but I just wanted to let it be known that I want it.
