Comic/Superhero based games.

I've seen a thread about HeroMUX but does anyone have any games that are reasonably active (as active as games can be in this day and age) with a good player base? Looking to maybe check out a hero game.
-
I'd check out mudstats.com. Use their Browse function and look up Superhero games. It'll show how man people are actively connected at the time, so you can get an idea of what the plaerbase size is when you'r active.
Keep in mind, also, that it's the holidays, and most games have taken a hit in activity.
-
X-Factor that I staff on is based in the X-Men movieverse, but in the future and more street level rather than big superheroes.
-
Necro time! I am also looking for a SuperHero game, preferably one with a coded system that is actually used to determine resolutions, and is active.
I know 6th Age, HeroMUX, and Brave New World are all pretty active, but, mostly consent based all of them.
ChampionsMUSH is in dire need of more players, but that system is very difficult to get into in the best of times and they have a lot of house rules. That said, I'd be willing to help make a person's character for them if they wanted to join, setting up the sheet stuff not writing backgrounds and the like, I could guarantee would be an approvable character.
My fiending for a new Super Hero game was being met by building my game but time is now at a premium so it'll be years before I finish it unless a more competent coder wants to help me out so... yeah!
Games, if any... I've checked mudconnect and mudstats of course already... thanks.

I know on WORA, DnD4e had a fully kitted out, 3e build for MUX. If he's around on here, you might be able to ask him for the code?

I've looked at most of the superhero/comic themed mushes, I think. My problem is most of them use a DC or Marvel included content.
While I like said content, I don't want to RP in said content. Those I used to play on are gone, I think. (With original themes), or too rules heavy for me to deal with, making me feel at a loss of how to function within the game.I'm building a mush, but like Lithium, would take a while. Right now, I am just hammering out the bugs in a Volund import.
I saw a M&M thread, but I think It is Marvel/DC themed and too rules intensive for me?
I was looking at using the Supers! ruleset and maybe draw an idea or two from Icons for dramatic effect, those the Supers! Competency Dice are versatile enough and more uses can always be added.

@Lilli
Cape Cowls and Villains Foul is another light game using the same system as Cartoon Action Hour.I do like the thought of having an all original character superhero mush with a system. Though not a fan of M&M and while I like Champions I think playing it online would be worse then shoving needles into my eyes given how long any combat would take.

It is impossible to keep up with all the versions of these characters, and then when people want to put their personal spins on things it gets even worse. This is why I dislike Marvel/DC/<insertpublishedcomichere> themed games.
I don't know, maybe I should just build up an Aberrant based game, put in some house rules to handle things like Mega-Strength, get rid of Taint, and just go. At least a billion people are familiar with the core of WoD rules so it'd be easy to pick up.
-
@Lithium There is an Aberrant game, Capes & Stars. capesandstars.kydance.net:6661.
I did an Aberrant chargen a long time ago, though I don't know what happened to it, and my coding
skills have definitely diminished since then. -
I'd help you with that, if you wanted. I have a couple of ideas rattling in my brain to boot.
-
Thanks I appreciate it. I have some ideas myself and I want to make sure I am going to settle on a system before I start putting to much into it. I have a lot of possible ideas milling around at the moment.
-
@tragedyjones and I are eagerly awaiting the new Aberrant/Scion system.
-
Hmm since I just started paying for a server should I host a superhero game too?
-
@tragedyjones, do it.

That settles it: the idea was shit.
Fine, don't do it.

@Coin Well played, sir.
