MU Things I Love

I think I understand a little more than I did before how some people are captivated by/instantly have tons of PC possibilities spin up in their heads after they see a picture of a "PB." It's not a good time to think about launching a new PC right now, but I am gobsmacked (and taking notes).

When you feel like all your creativity has been dried up and then you stumble across an idea that shines so brightly that it motivates you to get things done just so you can do that inspiring thing. And then you do it and it is AMAZING and better yet, people ENJOY it!
I love writing things for people that delight them. I love being surrounded by other writers who enjoy the same. Arx has taught me so much.

The one thing I on MU*s over how my friends do TTRPG is how darn engaged people are. There's a lot less burden on you to come up with a plot every month/every other month and be an expert on all the rules at all times and tailor it to feature all the players round the table. You come up with a plot, other players turn up or don't turn up. There's more agency in bouncing ideas off each other and the plot becomes a shared creative exercise.

When you find some people capable of doing a deeply moving, fun, and inspiring story that goes to some weird places IC, but the OOC stays gloriously awesome and you can talk stuff through comfortably.
You know who you are, and I just wanna say, I have mad respect for you.

This week has been FILLED with amazing scenes and events that drive my character's story forward in tandem with others' stories. There are brilliant people on Arx who can string together IC knowledge and make connections with that info that boggles my mind, and I'm grateful to them.

When you start a conversation with someone that seems... maybe not so amicable due to misunderstandings, but you both turn it around and are able to have a productive, good conversation. Shout out to @Testament. I appreciate you!

I'm so, so flattered when someone stays up late to play with me. They don't need to, and I'm always vocal OOC that sleep and RL are more important and it's always totally fine if they need to tap out of or pause a scene for any reason, but sometimes it's stupid late and they just keep playing because they're enjoying themselves, and it makes me happy. (I am a terrible influence, SORRY.)

You are.
Go put on another fish tie.

It's just cool to see cool things happen to cool people.

Spur of the moment scenes with awesome people having a blast! This has been a stretch of good times. I've really been feeling much better.

To keep the good feelings going
I've had some RP the last weekish between a pair of players that that's been really fun. Emotionally tricky for the PCs involved, but not overwrought or stressful OOC. A+

That last bit is always the hard part, for me.I worry so much that the other person is not having fun.
Like, would they say somethimg? Would /I/ day something? Are either of us just too polite?

Everyone knows who I play.
Everyone knows that I RP even the most boring of discussions.
Like trade agreements and naval strategy.
Sorry, not sorry, if you're RPing with me you may be dragged into a political matter.

I will only accept this if the discussion of trade agreements or naval strategy includes a bit of banter and possible euphemisms, such as "quid pro quo," "booty," "masthead," "boarding party," "ramming speed," and "I have wood for sheep." (Get a nice Catan reference in there.)

I'm grateful that after I disengage for a week (no channels, no discord contact, etc) people are 100% welcoming when I have the energy to try to engage again.

I can't upvote this because as good as it is to have people be awesome, it also sucks that this summer has been like that for you.

@deathbird
This is how I feel about Margerie-P and Adalyn-P on Arx. Literally could not have asked for better family.
