RE: Dream Chasers MUSH (JRPG/Anime)
@Lithium I worded that very poorly in retrospect. It was more a statement that there is no active spying or fine combing of logs going on to invade player privacy. If TS gets brought up, if it becomes a problem, the rule will be enforced, and then we'll return to not treating our players like they can't be trusted not to TS. Someone mentioned concern that the rule's existence meant staff was actively wasting time and resources around the clock enforcing this rule, which isn't true. In over three months so far we haven't had a case of TS come up, or even had players ask if they could do it. When I say the rule isn't being enforced, I'm actually saying there hasn't been need to yet, and staff does indeed have better things to do than spy on players.
This is in effect an agreement to the idea that a no TS rule is highly impractical to enforce on a day-to-day basis, as it requires active monitoring. Again, if TS gets brought up or if someone brings it to staff's attention, a move will be made, but that's it.
@Misadventure Our wiki has all the informaton on both the Gunslinger and Digger systems, the pages are hotlinked in the left-most sidebar. To clarify, they're fairly automated systems in that you have things you can choose to do when it's your turn to go but that's the limit of your input. Your stats, skills, attacks (Gunslinger) and tools (Digger) are set during application.
A round of Gunslinger would tend to go: your reaction choice to queued attacks against you, your pose, your attack against your foe(s), while a round of Digger goes: someone draws a challenge card, that person poses it, everyone poses and contributes to the challenge either via basic action or a tool, the challenge resolves, the person who drew the challenge poses the resolution, cycle to the next person until the dungeon is complete or the party wipes.
Our Guest bits are fully equipped try both systems out, and I'm certain you won't have trouble finding players to do so with you.

@ThatGuyThere Could we, please, stop talking about this?
I understand that this rule is controversial in the hobby, but a thread dedicated to arguing its merits, demerits and enforcement methods would be more productive.

@Kanye-Qwest Don't worry, I/we/they know! You can't please everyone, and it's perfectly allright like that.
But I'd really appreciate if people found another place to argue about the merits and demerits of allowing TS. I can assure people that no one is spying on players to ensure no one is TSing and no time is being spent/wasted trying to enforce this rule at the moment (see edit), but I also don't feel there's anything to be gained by arguing about it here. If you don't like that we ban TS, again, I'm very sorry to hear this, but that's where our conversation should end.
Edit: basically unless there's a reason to believe someone is TSing this isn't going to turn into an episode of Big Brother. The rule will surely be enforced when and if it's appropriate, but in the meantime there hasn't been any issue with it until this thread.

@toreadorfool Sorry to hear that. I've included that in the main post so it's a bit more obvious from now on.

@Tempest I'll be sure to let y'all know! Integration isn't something that's being rushed or overdone, in the interest of keeping the plot consistent with itself and spread across all series, but I'll be sure to post updates when new series get integrated.
I don't have any currently active Final Fantasy MUs to recommend you right now but I'd find it hard to believe there isn't at least one still around in some form.

Dream Chasers MUSH (JRPG/Anime)
MUSH Wiki/Site: https://dreamchasers.space
Connect info: dreamchasers.space, port 4767The Pitch: Dream Chasers MUSH combines the stories and characters of Grandia, Grandia II, Lunar II, Star Ocean, Tales of Zestiria, Trigun, Xenogears and Wild ARMs, splitting them across two planets, Lunar and Filgaia. We also plan to integrate Final Fantasy X, Gun x Sword, Wind Waker and Megaman Legends in the future. RP is currently restricted to a small section of Filgaia, with more to open as time passes and plots progress.
Systems: Dream Chasers MUSH boasts two combat systems. The first, Gunslinger, is a standard reaction-based combat system for battles between players, NPCs or bosses. The second, Digger, uses decks of challenges to randomly generate dungeon encounters, allowing a party of players to battle the environment without a dedicated GM. Players take turns drawing a card, posing the challenge for the party, and resolving the challenge. Thanks to this, the barrier to entry of finding or running RP is very low.
RP: Dream Chasers MUSH largely deals with adventure, social connections, threats to the world and plots within plots, but it doesn't restrict itself to that. Tone varies from lighthearted to serious at all times and there's something for everyone, including even those who just want to play bystanders such as merchants and wandering chefs. Slice of life isn't just common, it's encouraged.
Logging/Scheduling: While the standard +events/+scenes system is in place, most RP on Dream Chasers MUSH is spontaneous and we average two to four scenes per day, covering the whole spectrum of RP genres. We even have a fairly active night owl crew allowing off-timezone folks to find something to do most of the time. Large plot scenes may be scheduled in advance, but most aren't. Logs must be submitted manually to the site, but we offer a very simple script that will clean and format your log for you.
Factions: Dream Chasers MUSH doesn't boast traditional factions. Most characters are unaffiliated, or part of player-created groups, with major groups being reserved mostly for antagonists. Currently, these are: Althena's Guard, zealous defenders of the goddess Althena, Metal Demons, invaders from another world, Solaris, high-tech operatives trying to retain control of the world, and Veruni, a race of space-farers often regarded as a myth, operating covertly for the last century.
Chargen: Done through application. All characters, FC and OC, enter play with the same stat total, but antagonists may apply for a skill in their antagonist form that raises this number. Applications received before a Friday morning are guaranteed to be processed on the following Tuesday. New player applications received past the deadline may be processed on the following Tuesday as well if staff feel they can do it without rushing.
Advancement: +votes are used to determine who has roleplayed and who hasn't in a given week. Every Monday morning you receive advancement points per +vote you earned, to a maximum of two +votes. You can spend these points using an advancement application. You can +vote for as many people as you want per week.
OC Friendliness: Dream Chasers MUSH is extremely welcoming to original characters.
Tinysex: No TS, sorry! This isn't a statement for or against it, just a design choice that was made. I'm sorry if this is a dealbreaker!
There's so much more to say, but I don't want to bore you with an endless sales pitch. Please drop in and visit us if you're curious, or ask questions here and I'll do my best* to answer!
*As I'm currently at work I can't guarantee immediate replies, but I can guarantee if you drop in as a Guest there will be plenty of players able to help you.I warn in the interest of transparency that I don't speak for Dream Chasers MUSH staff, and therefore can't and shouldn't get into topics like why TS is banned.
