Is there a reason you aren't in the political section of the board?I am almost certain this is one of our neighborhood trolls trying to rustle jimmies.

That 'Report post for moderation' button is getting a lot of exercise.

RE: RL Angerposted in Tastes Less Game'y
I wanted to get in enough reports.
I don't care about the argument. I haven't even been following it. I'm just tired of the manchild drool getting all over the floor.

RE: RL Angerposted in Tastes Less Game'y
I was on board with the idea of getting together with friends/family Friday nights to share dinner, foster positive relationships, etc. That's not a bad thing anywhere and saying it's inspired by Sabbath isn't bad either.
... but the rest of it, yeah. Especially, I mean, turning it into a tourism thing of going to places like Mexico just to have a massive crowd eat and, yeah, fetishize religious rituals? What the ever living fuck.

I'm almost afraid to ask of their stance on trans women
If you read the article, they explicitly state 'If you identify as female'
Also, the friend who pointed this out to me (who works with Green Ronin) is very pro-LGBT and wouldn't be so supportive/gung-ho of the project if they weren't willing to gladly accept trans-women. -

More an 'RL thing I'm hopeful about'
Saw the neurologist today. I'm being put on a preventative (Trokendi) and once it's in my system, if I tolerate it (as in the side effects aren't too severe), I'll start getting infusion treatments of DHE 45 and toradol.

apparently cancelling a gym membership is like mission impossible.
I had to buy the damn thing out when I was moving to another city. It was the single most difficult thing to get out of during that move.
And I do miss having a gym membership. I live in the desert hellscape that is Phoenix, and there's a solid three or four months out of the year when going to the park to walk or jog is not feasible. But it was such a bad experience I'm still in Never Again mode.
I ended up moving to where I was like, a quarter of a mile within their 'range,' but only if you calculated as the crow flies. Driving-wise, it was like a goddamn hour... with good traffic.
Fuck gyms.

RE: RL Angerposted in Tastes Less Game'y
@Auspice If you have the space, have you considered a home gym?
Space is not something I have. I've got an exercise bike and a yoga mat tucked in a corner. That's about the extent of it.

Daily Burn.
Try it. You'll like it.
Considering how much I hate working out (since it generally results in a lot of physical weakness and pain because yay fibro)... I doubt you, sir.
I need to work out. I should work out. I've been trying to develop better habits. But I doubt I'll ever like it.

I was having a bad day once. Like one of those days that you either need to cry or break something because NOTHING is going right. So I swung into a Great Clips. I walked in and was like I would like my hair washed and blow dried please. No style. No cut. Just please wash and dry it. --- They did.
My day improved.
Totally legit.
Some people do retail therapy when depressed; I get my hair cut. Just for that experience. It can do wonders. -

I have a buddy who has been with the same job for years and has been fiddling with his deductions the whole time.
All so he could get to this year.
Where he's owed $0.01.
And is having the IRS mail him the check.I had to shed a tear at the glory of it all.

@Ghost And here I thought you were complaining more about the tube steak than the pastel meat grinder.
He loves my tube steak.

RE: RL Angerposted in Tastes Less Game'y
So, today I was supposed to contact the doctor to let them know if I was tolerating the Trokendi (migraine med). My expectation was we'd then schedule the infusions.
I have been. The side effects are what's expected. I've even had two days over the last week and a half that were better than normal. To me, that's a pretty big improvement.
I guess the doctor expected a greater level of improvement. He wants me to spend another couple weeks on higher dosages and then the infusions.
won't lie. I cried for a bit.

So I get this, too. The 'oh god this person hates me' feeling. And then I sometimes hear that I can come across as stand-offish on games, so I try to make it super clear that I am cool with people (esp. if our chars have ICly had any conflict).
... so then I begin to worry that I'm coming on too strong.
"Oh god am I paging this person too much? Am I pissing them off by offering daily to RP and telling them that if they ever wanna RP I am totally down? They haven't taken me up on it I bet they are totally sick of me..."
Social anxiety can be a bitch. But I will say, @Catsmeow, from my experience you are a very sweet, caring person, and I doubt anyone is sitting there wanting you to be doing a disappearing act.

RE: RL Angerposted in Tastes Less Game'y
New symptom: paresthesia in mah face!
Began last night (at least I got to enjoy dinner!). It's mostly tapered off, but still present. Contacted my neuro to let him know, but he / his office hasn't gotten back to me yet.I was reminded today about daith piercings and how they sometimes help migraines (I had totally forgotten!). Sadly, my paycheck was just enough to cover rent plus some (so basically: groceries). Might get one with my mid-month check and see if it helps.
EDIT: He just got back to me. Figures. He thinks it's due to the increased dosage in the meds. Says it should clear up in the 'next 1-2 weeks' and I should keep taking the increased dosage. Whee.

@Cupcake I'm definitely wincing and I hope that you feel better soon. I also strongly urge you to get an MRI. X-rays often miss things.
I'll 2nd MRI. Joint areas, there's always the risk of having pulled something just-so and ending up with bone spurs... which are no fun and not generally caught by x-rays, but cause some really uncomfortable pain.
