Oh hey, a disturbing number of these ring true for me. Probably for you also!

If by 'disturbing number' you mean "almost all of them"? Totally.

      I think... 2 don't apply to me.

That 'being so bored it hurts' also hits home. Man, the times I've legitimately gotten angry because I can't find or settle on anything to do.

You would not believe how many times I've had a char fall for someone and THEN go check out their PB and I'm like 'oh wow that person is wildly unattractive (to me)'

Somewhat related, people have been trying to hit on me for years by complimenting my PB's attractiveness, and not for my life can I think of a response to that. Uh... thanks for thinking someone who isn't me is pretty enough to be worth your attraction, I guess?

'Thanks for telling me up front you aren't worth my time!'

      Ditto on both counts.

Some of the ones that were entirely too spot-on for me:

Constantly late even when I have plenty of time... Oh man yes. Don't expect my +events to actually start on time. Sorry. I do my best.

Cleaning the whole house or nothing at all... I call it "cleaning frenzy".

Having a hard time switching what you're doing... I'm like a parent arguing with a young child inside my own head. "It's time to stop now." "But I just need to finish this one thing." "Does NOW mean something else in your language?" "I'm almost done!"

The last one there doesn't really apply to me. It's more the inverse: can't focus on one thing.
I get hyper-focus episodes once every few months. The rest of the time it's an utter inability to focus on anything. It's why I just can't ever get shit done.

The only bi married people are swingers. It is known. sagenod

Or they're cheating on their partner, because bi people are greedy and can't help it.

I just want EVERYONE. All the time. Actual compatibility, attraction, etc. doesn't matter. Being bi just means I wanna sleep with everything that moves. SORRY.

As someone whose family is predominantly Irish (my father is 100% Irish, as example)... I get really, really, reeeeeeeeally vexed by the 'Well my great-great-grandfather's mother was an O'Reilly so that means I'm Irish!' crowd. I mean, I guess it could mean they are? But they also can be some of the most freakin' obnoxious.

...like the one guy who sat in an OOC Lounge one time telling everyone how his family were IRISH WITCH HUNTERS. All based on a 'my father's aunt's husband's family have the last name <X> and they're witch hunters based on this google search I did....' Like, not even blood relatives but hooooooo boy.

But yes, the whole distill it into a drinking holiday thing- ugh. Ugggggh.

Personally, I have more issues these days with straight women wanting me to teach them how to roleplay lesbian sex than I do the men playing lesbian horn-bots.

But the latter seem to stay in their lane most of the time these days. They gravitate to each other and I like to imagine two dudes playing their buxom giggly redheads and jerking off to it and I smile.

So, most of my characters remain bi and I just gravitate to whoever's RP I like best and if I get a 'hey I dunno how to RP this lol can you teach me' I just tell them to google it and peace out.

I just want to share my appreciation for the folks on Euphoria the past couple days. I've been under the weather and RP is nice and low key for me during the hours I am awake. But they've been super understanding that I might zone out or just hit a wall of capability at some point.

It's really, truly appreciated and it's given me something to enjoy that is fun and relaxing without feeling a lot of pressure. Thank you.

I've been having a rough couple weeks and today I woke up with that sick-depression feeling (where you're not sick-sick, but so depressed you feel ill?). It led into a super ADD day that was just... frustrating (frustrated at myself for being so damn unproductive, basically).....

....so I really, really appreciated all the compliments I got on my awesome rainbow socks. They were exactly what I needed.

    • RE: Euphoria - Feedback

I've hit a huge RP burnout due to RL stuff. It's kinda sucked and it totally isn't the game: I'm barely logging in anywhere right now.

The idea of resolving plots via +job and having people RP out the results is something @Paradox and I have considered. Because we encountered the very same issue. As soon as we stopped running things, people stopped playing. And I had issues getting people to commit/engage with the plot you handed me. People would say yes I'll be there and then... not show. And I didn't want to run for a single person (though I guess I could've, but it felt meh for me and I didn't feel it'd be fun for them, either).

I'm not sure what the special sauce is to get people to generate their own RP vs only engaging when there's staff-run plots happening. It works on some games and not others. Sci-fi games seem to especially be hit by it these days and I don't know why since it's my favorite genre (and it's why I've been super hesitant to do my own sci-fi theme again).

      Two things.

One, I know exactly what you mean. When you're so run-down mentally you start flagging physically. I'm so sorry you feel that way, but you deserve congratulations for getting through the day.

Two: those socks are amazing. I don't go for bright colors, so the muted/autumn take is SO pretty.

Isn't it?! I love those socks, I just don't wear them often because I don't own sock glue or garters so I spend all day fixing them in place.

But I was wearing a black dress w/a red belt today so they were fitting. I do also own a pair of bright rainbow socks. And these amazing Vans (bought to replace the grey ones I walked through...).

But yes: thank you. That sort of mental exhaustion is..... ugh. because you need sleep but at night you can't sleep and you wake up just wanting to bury yourself in bed all day and.... and.... I'll be glad when I can (within the week! thank god!) afford my meds again.
And a trip to the doctor to GROVEL FOR ADD MEDS FFS.

Well, I got the lecture on Ambien, and how she won't give me a lot of things until I come off that (Though Ambien has been the ONLY thing that has ever given me consistent 6 hours of sleep in years, I'm not an addict, and I don't do the stupid things people talk about on it), so Celexa it is, for now. And yeah "Well, it might be the anxiety and depression, and not actual ADD" - yeah, I'm sure the therapist who works across the hall and sent me to you has no idea what she's talking about.

For me it was 'if we fix your depression and insomnia the add should go away!'

I mean I'm on a p consistent sleep schedule rn and my add is as bad as ever so ok there goes that theory.

Like I said, I do truly hope it works for you but gosh they seem to love denying women and add diagnosis.

I'm glad to see he discussions this thread is sparking. I can't @reply everyone, so... My things:

      • Total agreement on the 'you' being kinda squicky. I had a scene recently where the instant everyone else left and it was just my (female) char and a male char, he switched to the 'you' posing. It makes me feel weird.
      • I can generally handle people just out for TS / sappy-romance and leave them in their own little world. It's when, as referenced, that they stop putting any effort into their poses as soon as <gender they're interested in> isn't present that drives me up a wall.
      • I'm bummed that KD turned out so terribly for me when I tried playing there (close to 2 years ago). My char was not available for the sexytiems, so a lot of people just stopped playing with me and then I ended up with a stalker (before I knew how disturbing the person was, I'd given them my RPSkype name and I use the same UN generally for wikis). It sounds like a lot of people, lately, have had some great times there. Happy for them, but alas.

I try to focus on IC chemistry, but there's certain people I play with where our characters frequently have that chemistry just due to the types of characters we play.

The last time I actually had someone 'new' with chemistry, they turned out to be the alt of a friend. Amusing, but it was a moment of 'Damn! I thought I'd found someone new to add to my list of great RPers!'
