An action result that totally imbalances your character and has them send a messenger begging for someone to come immediately is awesome.

It was an action I put in based on a theory someone else inspired. I didn't know what to expect from it. The result is great (well, not great for Teagan, but XD).

For over a week now I've been sleeping until 3-5pm. I go to bed by 3am, but my sleep is shit because of my knee.

I've had this lump the size of my fist above my right knee for about five months. For a while I thought it was just fat. I'd gained quarantine weight etc etc. But I've lost ten pounds. My left knee doesn't look like that at all. There's just this big lump making my thigh right above my knee kinda misshapen.

And in turn I get sharp pains down my leg. A pretty much constant ache. Tylenol takes the edge off but it doesn't help me sleep....until I'm just so exhausted I sleep. Usually from about 9am to 3pm the following day.

This has become my number one reason to get a job. So I can see a doctor and find out wtf is wrong.

I think the types I'm kinda referring to are the 'I'm so pretty. My powers revolve around how pretty and charismatic I am. I have fifteen boyfriends and girlfriends. My template is very obnoxious. Also I'm very random! Insert GIF here!' I hope that gives you a better example.

Oh. Yeah, that happens. Fallcoast's house rules specifically make it cheaper to be The Sexiest One Of Them All, so it's a little more pronounced here than a lot of places. I have too much sympathy to judge; it's hard to not wish you were one of the beautiful people.

The high end PC that I built in 2016 (i7-6700k, 1080 SC, 32GB RAM) is not exactly happy with the new Flight Simulator, woof. Judging from the recommendations, it's not super surprising, but I think I'm definitely going to want to rebuild this towards the end of 2021 when the new AMD socket is out as I had been planning.

Flight Sims have always been some of the more demanding games, so def. not surprising.

      bugs.

      fucking bugs.

I have to ask the complex send an exterminator out every couple of weeks because of bugs. I know it's not me. I've never had an issue with bugs before to begin with. I clean. I'm not a neat freak, but I clean. I tidy up regularly and I try to clean the place once a week. It's not OMG clean, but there's no trash left lying around, the floors are kept decently clean.

      It's not me.

But I am almost certain it's my neighbor.

The bugs began appearing a month, month and a half after they moved in.

And they leave trash outside their front door.

I'm not talking like, a single trashbag waiting to carry out to the dumpster. That's fine. I do that. Sometimes I clean late at night, so I put the bag out to carry out the next morning. No, I mean... for example for a week straight there was a WingStop bag that was greasy/damp on the lower half and multiple (used) diapers. Like, just lying loose. Like they just opened the door and tossed the diaper out to sit on the walkway. A few other trash items, too, but those are the ones that stood out.

And it all sat there. For a week. And this is a regular thing. Food bags, random trash items, trash bags that get torn open (wildlife) and lie there for days at a time.

I dunno at what point the complex is gonna start inspecting other apartments due to the bugs, but I hope it's soon. (And yes, I have reported it to the apartment management, but nothing's been done that I know of yet.)

this would be me. I have one song I'm hooked on rn. I'll listen to others but I always return to it.

I have a couple of 'interesting books coming out this month' sites I like. So every month I go to them, read their descriptions of the interesting books and then buy whatever strikes my fancy.

I'm still pretty sad that the Barnes and Noble Sci-Fi and Fantasy blog died. Joel Cunningham had my number. He does stuff over at Tor.com now, but they didn't bother doing a list this month for anything other than YA novels! Jerks.

What are the sites you use?

I never liked the UI on the GoodReads site. I always wanted to like it because I liked it in theory but...it never became something I used.

So for me book discovery has always been word of mouth. But also.... I learn about a lot of books outside of sci-fi/fantasy through Ryan Holiday's email digest. He sends out an email every quarter with his favorite books from the past three months and why they're his favorites. They range from books on stoicism (which is what he writes himself so there's often at least one of those), philosophy in general, to history, and socio-politics.

I do a good enough job keeping up the fiction reading but his list really helps me flesh out the rest.

Hard to say. Disney started holding LGBTQ friendly events at their parks, in the early 90s, long before most other corporations jumped on the bandwagon. For a long time it was one of the few employers in FL to recognize "domestic partners" (marriage was illegal at the times) and allow people to have their partners on their insurance. They've had a non discrimination policy on hiring workers in their parks and hotels long before non profits gave out scorecards. I know a handful of folks that started working for disney in the early 90s for that reason, and they're pretty rabid fans in many ways, even though I would not call Disney an unblemished employer for MANY other reasons. I think if you're of a certain generation and lived in FL in particular, I could see why someone might have a soft spot enough to get a tattoo like that, but I dunno, maybe the person is just combining stuff that he likes, too.

One of my closest friends when I was in SC is a lesbian. She loves Disney. She tries to go to their gay pride events every year. She focuses on her love of Disney movies, of the experience, etc. She knows and acknowledges that the company has problems, but it's also brought her together with people she loves and cares about.

She also has a rainbow Mickey tattoo.

ETA: to some people, their experiences define it more than the corporate.

@Derp just. If I've pissed you off, tell me. Don't be snitty. Just fecking say it

      There's various levels of 'upset.'

Now if someone's being snitty, that's one thing. Don't do that.

But I know if someone's hurt my feelings, I tend to just disconnect and stop engaging. It's a social anxiety thing. If they hurt my feelings, I figure they don't like me and the best thing I can do is to just extract myself from their life.

It may not be the right answer, but it's what my social anxiety tells me to do.

      I've been hyperfocusing bad lately.

I mean, I've been getting a lot done crafting-wise, but it's also 6am and it's only by force of will I'm dragging myself to bed.

Why can't I hyperfocus at reasonable hours gdi?!

      Also:
has anyone tried one of those water bottles that reminds you to drink water? I'm debating one because I think this cycle of hyperfocus is leading to me being dehydrated. And I wonder if an external reminder might help.

b/c there are more expectations and distractions during the day. more stuff you feel like you SHOULD be doing keeping you from slipping into that zone

Ugh. Sad but true. Fuck adulting.
