    • RE: Web portals and scenes and grids oh my!

I may be a minority but forcing me to walk the grid discourages me from rp. I know for a fact I'd rp on Arx more if I could tel / meetme.

But getting lost constantly is frustrating and feeling like I'm barging through scenes on my way elsewhere is insanely anxiety inducing and stopping to pose through makes other people wait on me which is also anxiety inducing and

When I give people pros/cons for Arx, 'the grid is insanely confusing and almost impossible to navigate and you can't meetme/tel' is near the top of the list. 'directions'.doesn't always work and I hate how often people are like 'ok to get to this place use directions for this other thing and then go through these other five rooms.

I just want to RP. Not spend twenty minutes just getting to the scene location.

I sleep naked because otherwise I feel like I'm getting tangled up. If I travel with people and gotta wear pajamas I can't sleep.

It took years to be able to sleep with more than just a single blanket.

I don't mind necklaces or snug necklines tho. I think the snug clothing, etc fits into why I also like weighted blankets. Or part of it. There's a light pressure involved and it feels soothing.

I don't chew on my lips a lot, but I do chew at my cuticles compulsively. I didn't really think of that as a thing until I had a therapist point it out once.

@Kanye-Qwest I love that more and more clothes are printing the tag info because my issue with cutting them out is there always seems to be a little nub of ITCH left.

    • RE: Euphoria - Feedback

I've twice now on Euphoria opened a public scene and left or open to become a slow scene and only a @Cobaltasaurus alt later joined. So there's definitely people willing to rp.

Additionally, my personal frustration has been in finding people willing to buy into plot. I was given a staff plot to take over and run and had.....one pc from the race it's for show up to scenes. I haven't even been able to finish it. I've put out whenisgood and scheduled at the times that people say they can make it and only that person consistently shows up. That isn't on Staff at all. I feel like it's a continuation of an issue I've had with MUs for years now where if it's not a add running a scene, people don't care. (Inb4 'but arx' - Arx is the exception to the rule in this).

With the caveat that @WildBaboons is the ultimate owner and decider of such things, from conversations I've had with him, I don't think Aes Sedai are going to be locked behind any kind of barrier to entry, other than perhaps knowing enough about Aes Sedai to play one.
There will be balances to be made across 'how much do I want strength with the five elements of the Source' vs 'how much do I want to have other abilities and advantages', but that in and of itself is a decision for the player to make.

This. Aes Sedai available right out of chargen.

If people want to come in as Novice/Accepted they are welcome to but the storyline itself is only going to last a year or two so would not be enough time to be Raised from start to finish

I did the whole story starting at Novice... only for the game to close shortly after she finally finished. XD

I wanna start as an Aes Sedai, so this is good news. Totally gonna play a Gray again.

Query: how hard will it be to play an Aes Sedai? I know some games in the past made the barrier to entry about as bad as Star Wars games and Jedi (aka long app processes that often resulted in just staff alts and staff friends).

I miss my Gray from back in the day and would love to play one again.

as well as a general aversion to anything tight-fitting or itchy.

I actually prefer tighter-fitting stuff because when there's a lot of loose fabric, I feel like it's in my way. I'm probably too fat for this and people probably hate that I wear more snug things (not like, lycra or spandex, but I don't wear the two-sizes-too-big that fat ladies are supposed to)... it just avoids me ending up in the insanely agitated state.

But god yes, the itchy fabrics of uniforms. I wear mostly what's called 'athleisure' because tank tops and yoga pants are comfy af.

@Sparks I know it's not a thing for most people because of all the utter shit I get whenever I try to explain why 'just wear layers' isn't a good answer for me when I'm cold. Yes, if you want me insanely irritated and flailing about in agitation, SURE. But people act like I'm just being fussy, just making a problem, etc etc etc etc.

Adult diagnosis of ADHD continues to be an adventure in "Oh, that's not just me being weird?"

      Yep. My life as well.

      big same.

But at least it helps, y'know? Knowing you aren't alone.

I'm not sure how commonly the chewing is part of ADHD. I'm also on the autism spectrum, so I may get it from that (I have fabric sensitivities and weirdnesses also....like part of why I prefer living in the southwest is I hate wearing layers because fabric on fabric is the worst thing ever. I can handle hoodies and sometimes the rare oversized sweater but when it's like leggings under jeans for super cold or layered shirts due to cold I end up hella irritated and upset because of the constant fabric catching and tugging and rubbing and.....)

I don't even know if I explained that properly but yeah. 😐

My hip has gotten bad enough I can only sleep on my stomach and even then I wake up multiple times a night.

I've applied for a clinic here (filled out their eligibility stuff) but haven't heard back. I'm sure tons of people have been signing up. Getting a job might be my only hope.

I just can't get my COVID symptoms under control, but none of them (separately or together) rise to the standard of going to a hospital and risking infecting others or exposing myself to whatever dangers would be in an ER. This is keeping me out of work, which is fine since I'm getting comp while I'm out, but I'm starting to feel bad about how work must suck for my coworkers since we operate on skeleton crews anyway.

This is pretty much the only upside to being out of work still. I still have at least one day every week where I am just slammed with symptoms still. Exhaustion, breathing issues, etc. It'd be terrible to drag myself to work on those days.

I'm just more surprised that there are schools out there that can afford to buy individual text books for elementary students

Then remember that some of those textbooks are decades old and out of date.

I know I had to carry all my books when I was in 1st, 2nd, etc. But I'm pretty sure it was in part because I went to a small private school and there weren't any lockers and such.

My younger three siblings (who went to public school) mostly had backpacks full of papers in elementary. So it's very much not a recent thing.

If anyone is in the hurricane path I am east of Tyler, TX and my home is open. (My wife and I are Covid recovered and she is back to teaching).

I may be taking my boat if needed for water rescue but my wife will be home to welcome and put anyone in need of evacuations up.

Along similar lines, I have space here in Austin. It's a 1 bedroom apartment, but I have an air mattress and cats who will cuddle with any/everyone.

Though I do not have air conditioning at the moment because it ded. Waiting on the replacement.

@Mr-Johnson said in Spitballing for a supers Mush:

@Rucket Money. It comes down to money. I'm on fixed income. I need to rely on what I can get for free for this games hosting. Ares costs money that I don't have. What I do have is time and energy to fully dedicate to the project and plenty of it. So it being slower to do non ares doesn't factor in as much as me not having the money to spend on ares even though it's relatively small amount of money.

My current income is ZERO. Until I get approved for disability for my laundry list of medical issues I have NO income, and that is also a problem because if I get donations Disability will see that I am able to work and will deny me the disability I need to be able to survive. so I can not do anything that requires money but I can do everything that requires time.

Ares doesn't cost money. It's just that putting it on DigitalOcean is the easiest method and the one Faraday can handhold pretty much anyone through.

I've gotten it going on my friend's hosting. It took some hacking, but it was doable. I've run it on my Windows machine, as well, to tool around on it locally. DO isn't required, it's just the recommended method.

No no, no death involved. Plenty of blood tho. Chessa's gonna be complaining about all the cleaning for a while.
