I got to say: Walmart's grocery pickup is amazing for my bad leg days.

And based on the times I've gone in to shop vs. the two times I've used it so far... there does not appear to be a markup. So I'm paying what I would be, but... less chance of impulse buys (which I am terrible about), I can make sure I get everything on my list (and tweak and tweak and tweak.....and tweak), and I'm not going all over the whole store (which is so good on days my legs are not doing well).

It feels weird having someone load groceries in my car, but. Iunno. It's jobs? And I mean when they usually have only 1-2 people on registers anyway. The people so far have been really nice and awesome. I haven't yet had anything missing from an order and they let you review it before you sign off, etc.

      I'm digging it.

I just watched Into the Spider-Verse, and my mind is blown.

It is as great a revelation as The Dark Knight was.

      Probably the best Marvel movie.

During the window I had MoviePass, I banked up a lot of Regal Points (you could tie your MoviePass-purchased-ticket to your Regal account and thus accrue points and... look, if you let me abuse a system I'm gonna abuse a system okay). But about 54k of those points expire at the end of the month.

So I gotta see 3 movies. (15k points gets you a movie ticket!)

Spiderverse is tomorrow's movie. I'm excite.

@faraday I completely agree. Pacing is super important for me as well. I tried to run a Storium game for a little while, but sometimes the time between posts was so long, I'd start loose idea/story momentum until people would just sort of fizzle out.

I'm trying rolegate after someone posted it here because woo! finally getting to play D&D!

And our ST just sort of faded out. He'd reply often at first! Then once a day.. then every few days... I've considered finding another game to join on it, but. Oi.

After reading the Pern books I was online and stumbled across PBEM. Thought hey, this is cool.

PBEM was weird for me and slow AF. I didn't really jive with it. But then I found a MU. Tried it out. Really, really enjoyed it.

      Been stuck since.

Made a lot of friends over the years. A few have stuck. A few no longer play and are still friends. A few are no longer friends. I stick with the hobby because to me, it's part social and part writing exercise. I can try out character ideas. I can try out writing methods, styles, etc. I can get instant feedback on things. What works. What doesn't. I can see myself evolve in real time.

I am so sorry. That's rough in so many ways. I've been there, it sucks.

In other news, anyone following along with me at home, they just found my kidney stone.

The one I have been literally begging them to take care of for a year that they told me didn't exist.

      It's 3mm.

That's like the saga of my gallbladder. "Oh it's just stomach ache." aka"gosh women and their whining"

Years later: oh hey your gallbladder is trying to kill you.

Glad they found it even if it took them way too damn long!

This is why the doctors that go "you know your body because it's yours" are goddamn diamonds (I miss the one I had in Ohio).

There's one going around that is terrible and awful and I am so sorry if that's the one you have. Ugh. šŸ˜ž

I've already missed two days of work and I think I'm about to miss a third. šŸ˜• I woke up like "Oh thank God the fever broke" and then the stomach cramps kicked in.

Can't really work when you're doubled over. 😐 So it looks like this paycheck is ramen while I hold over every penny to make sure I can pay rent next month. But at least coworkers don't risk me spreading germs.

This shit is seriously why we need mandated PTO. Every day I've warred with myself over whether or not to work

I've been anticipating the build up to Glass for a long time. I loved Unbreakable. Split was great. Shyamalan has struggled for a while because his 'twists' fell flat more than once and in ridiculous ways (The Village is another one; he took a concept that had been done too many times and also in a book many people read in middle school and tried to market it as a BIG DEAL GUIZ and then was shocked when people were like 'oh I know what this is' before the opening credits were even done).

But this trilogy is, I think, his true masterpiece because... it's not "what a tweest!" and it's street level "supers" in a properly 'gritty' way (aka not DC comics I am Batman Ben Affleck grit).

People definitely know that modeling exists, though. This is a reduction in numbers from people using the command before.

Before people could run the command in the privacy of their own homes couldn't they? It's a pretty big ask for most people to have to be at a big event to run a command.

I do think the intention of making it so people were modeling actual outfits (not just privately modeling things named "-" or "shirt" or "for model" that were then immediately recycled) by making you model in front of others kind of backfired in ways we didn't intend; seeing the use of modeling go down (even though the rewards are potentially higher) suggests people don't like the idea of public scenes being required.

So I'm probably going to back out the public aspect of modeling as part of the prestige changes I'm working on.

As Apos suggests, though, we're still going to want to come up with some kind of public fashion thing so that people can engage with the system in public, and some way to incentivize real outfits over throwaway. Ideas are being tossed around by staff, but they still need to "gel" a bit more before I think they can be detailed here.

What if the item has to have been worn for X number of days first? To represent it having been seen by a certain number of people?

That way they don't have to be in a public (aka big and overwhelming) scene to represent it being witnessed in public, but it will represent that 'being in public' aspect.

Then if someone is wandering around on grid with 'for model' on their person, they will get appropriately teased. šŸ˜‰

ETA: Then you could someday consider some sort of gossip add-on where NPCs might comment: 'I saw JimmyJoBob walking through the market wearing <high prestige modeled item> the other day.' for rooms they passed through while wearing the item during the days leading up to when they tripped the model code.

Then they really don't wanna name it some stupid throwaway name. No one wants to be remembered for wearing 'bootz 4 da model code.'

If anyone has had to file a police report for harassment: what details do they generally need/ask for?

What about one filed out of state?

(Yes I'm being vague. I'm being vague because it's for RL stuff. I was having a hard time finding specifics online other than 'call and file a report.' But I want to make certain it's taken seriously when I do call so I want to have everything they might want on hand.)

      @wretched

Different things work for different people. Most anti-depressants are useless if not outright bad for me. Like Effexor? It gave me mild seizures and coming off of it, I had to be under very, very close observation, get MRIs regularly, etc... after one doctor kept raising the doses and telling me 'just keep watching it, it'll go away and you'll get better, promise!'

The new doctor who took me off of it was very unimpressed, let me tell you.
Prozac or zoloft gave me paranoid delusions.

Like, some meds have horrid side-effects. Some work great! The one that worked THE BEST was ascendin. But it's no longer used in the US. šŸ˜ž Wellbutrin is the best since. But yeah, it's def. not for everyone 'cause everyone is different!

      I hate fibro.

I will sometimes get a day where I wake up feeling rested, energetic, etc...but it pretty much always means the following day will be hell.

That was yesterday and today. I just want to sleep. All I want is sleep. I would call out of work if I could justify it in my budget.
