      These boots.

      Those are sexy af.
      But so expensive.
And it's 80F today so I clearly don't need winter boots.

      I just need new boot-boots.

@auspice Ugh. There was a cheap one from Sephora's brand I was going to recommend to you that looks like it's been discontinued. It was all different shades of golden-green from very light to almost black, though I never used the darkest one because I'm very pale and inherited the circles my dad has under his eyes. Smokey eye very quickly turns into 'raccoon hooker' on me, but the rest of the palette was very pretty.

      Awwww.

Why must they discontinue the good things?!

Due to my anemia, I actually am losing coloration in various places. Under my eyes is one. So I have PALE CIRCLES under my eyes. I sometimes have to dab concealer under them or else I look weird in the opposite direction. I never expected that. I always expected to go the dark circles route. NEWP.

(My hands are also going spotty in a few places as I lose pigmentation in random spots. Thanks anemia!)

But it does mean I am not as worried about going dark. I've been finally experimenting VERY VERY VERY VERY (oh so very) gently with more smoky eye looks. I HAVE EVEN PUT THE SHADOW UNDER MY EYES GUIZ.

I know some of you like the shiny-holo-stuff like I do.

Target has this bag that is a pretty awesome tote bag. Square bottom, snap closure across the top, a small zip pocket inside:

      https://www.target.com/p/shopper-weekender-bag-wild-fable-153-silver/-/A-53523448 $25.

I'm hoping to pick it up on my next paycheck maybe (don't have anyone to buy gifts for me so I gotta get my own :P) since I've been wanting a good general shopping bag for small grocery trips and the like.

I also need a good gaming keyboard and I've eyeballed a few but I'll stare at whatever any of y'all post for ideas when I can afford one (my cheap-ass keyboard is dying. I keep having it stop responding mid-adventure in Destiny 2 which is no bueno).

Oh, the tricksy swatches. They do look gorgeous, though. I love this palette, even if I think I HAVE all these colors. I have to stop buying eyeshadow.

Double-post to say..... I have the same issue.

I've been using NYX's dupe of UD's Naked and I'm kind of bored of it. I'm like: I want a small palette in a similar size that I can tuck into my makeup bag (vs the two BIG palettes I have!) ... but what do I want?!

I need something with matte and shimmers..........but what?! Ugh. I know having brown hair/eyes gives me a fair range to work with but I also feel like purples and greens and shit, tho pretty, are basically risking going HEY LOOK EIGHTIES CALLED AND THEY WANT THEIR GAUDY BACK

The way they showcase by striping the colors along different arms is brilliant.

It's becoming pretty popular for brands to do that, to help figure out how it'd show on different skintones. I really appreciate it, myself. Esp. for the shimmer-y hues (which, man, show up amazingly on darker skin).

I'll also note that brand (Bad Habit Beauty) is cruelty-free. So they're p affordable and cruelty-free!

I wish they had more than just the one lip-gloss. I am TRYING to find a nice, really dark color (sorta like Sabrina wears in the new show >.>) and having a hell of a time. I have a lipstick that works (UD's Venom), but I want a gloss to pair with it. 😕 ColourPop technically has one but they've been out of stock for......ages. I've got an email alert setup if they ever get it back in stock.

@cogne1982 said in The Writing Craft:

Do you know how to write a movie script? I see that here you have such good links that will help to do this.

Where I could find the screenwriting tips? I think it will help me to create a script for my game that I plan to create.

I've written a couple short film scripts. I can point to a few books and links, but I'm not yet completely awake. I'll see what I can stir up later on today. 🙂

I do highly recommend formatting software (Final Draft for paid and CeltX for a free option) because that part is vital and hand-formatting a script is a PITA. Also finding your own 'method' for development is really important. Going from draft to script is a process; it's rare you just dive right in. A lot of people absolutely swear by Blake Snyder's 'Save the Cat' method (http://www.savethecat.com/) and I have to say... it works. I've got two of the books (Save the Cat and Save the Cat Strikes Back).

      It uses a beat sheet:
      https://timstout.wordpress.com/story-structure/blake-snyders-beat-sheet/
      Here's Toy Story 3: https://www.writersstore.com/toy-story-3-save-the-cat-beat-sheet/
(You can find other films applied to it. A lot of people will analyze movies using Snyder's method. Either as a challenge, as part of a class, or just for fun.)

Personally, I will rough out the general idea of my script using the Snyder beats, then transfer them to index cards. From there, I start fleshing out the gaps. Index cards are another sort of 'standard' (aka commonly used, but not required). A lot of software (Final Draft, CeltX, Scrivener) offers virtual index cards. You can lay them down, move them around, etc. You aren't trapped with them in a static location on the page. You can visualize where they are. That way if you move a scene, you can actually physically move it.

I actually plan out all my stories this way now, once they go past the outline stage. It's usually outline -> index card -> rough draft...

Ahem. Anyway. I'll dig up some more concrete links later. I know I've got some good videos, too.

I am much much much happier with the awkward 'So, uh, our characters hooked up in the past and I just wasn't sure how to approach it. It doesn't have to be anything moving forward through.' page

than someone jumping all over my character IC when I pick up a roster char.

Like, that's win. That's how you do it. Because I don't want to make you feel weird or even a bit sad if we RP together and I'm RPing as if we're meeting for the first time. I'd rather be able to hash it out (was it a one night stand? are they friendly? how long ago was it?) and see how we gel moving forward as RP partners.

You did good, whoever you are. I get that awkward page was awkward, but as far as picking up a roster char goes and having people with past (romantic) connections paging me... You did the best yet. Bravo.

      @wretched said in RL Anger:

@auspice So i dunno if this is related or will help, but I am diabetic, and i used to get the same fucking thing. Part of it was general ill health, but it happened every time I took insulin right before bed. It was connected (for me) to rapid sugar dropping + being in bed/laying down.

Now mostly I get cramps while swimming, but nowhere near as bad. I used to wake up with either shin or calf cramps and my leg twisting back unable to straighten.

Sugar is a weird thing for me. I am not diabetic, but- I tend towards low blood sugar. I go through these periods of time now and again where I have to keep a close eye on myself because if I start dieting (and thus cutting out carbs, sugars, etc...) ... my blood sugar will drop even more and I'll just get lethargic and weak and so on. This lovely thing was discovered when my father discovered his type 2 and my mom decided 'We could all serve to be healthier! No sugar or carbs for anyone in the family from now on!' and I ended up passed out one day from a really bad sugar crash. From then on I got to keep snacks and such in my room to help balance my shit out as needed.

But, that might be something to start adding to my mental checklist: if I start getting worse cramps around when I'm dealing with sugar imbalance issues (me and my doctors have never been able to pin down my overall leg issues; it'd be swell if I could narrow it down somehow!).

If I wake up quick enough, I can stretch it out before the cramp hits but usually it is the cramp itself that wakes me.

The foam rolling is something I was recommended as like, a maintenance thing vs right after the cramp fo sho (good call out; I was remiss in mentioning that). Doing it on a regular basis has loosened up my calves enough that I've gone from getting those cramps regularly to relatively (thank god) rarely.

Plus it feels pretty dang good when you've got achy legs from like, a long day of walking!

A co-worker hit his head a few days back and the welt was showing really bad the other day, so I let him borrow my base to cover it up.

I've never, ever felt regret for having base in my locker at work. It's mostly for spot cover, but I feel a lot better for it.

      --

I know this thread is for being fancy with makeup, but for most guys, even being willing to use makeup for cover is pretty fancy, and I felt like sharing.

I mean, half the time I use concealer just to cover zits I couldn't help but pick at so.....

but I also recently discovered they have better quality tank tops than Target does for literally half the price even when they're not on sale.

      homg so did I.
like the quality suddenly went up and the price is ridic? how/when did this happen?!

I use tanktops for layering and I was like well......... this is cheap enough to try???

And they're perfect. Like soft and just the right length and what happened. How even. They're amazing for my budget and a good length and what is this madness
