I, too, have a summer cold.
They should be illegal.
I have, however, not gotten to the point of cough syrup and now I pray I don't because my level of pure curiousity would make me want to locate and try this stuff.

Be vindictive.
I mean, yes, they may have needs/troubles/etc., but you may be at least helping them get help. Or avoiding things being worse on you and your neighbors.
I had a neighbor for a while who had dogs. A lot of them. And we only called once one of them broke through the fence and attacked my dog. Found out they'd been fined once and then arrested for two previous cases of dog hoarding. They were squatting on a house where the original owner had died and there was no water or power. With kids.
It ultimately turned out that the mother with the two kids was in an abusive situation she didn't know how to get out of and the cops showing up to investigate the dog complaint were able to figure this out and help her. And the poor dogs got rescued.
Rather than focusing on the results of my hip x-ray (arthritis, bleh)... Instead I am focusing on:
Since I was a teenager, I've had issues of cracking & peeling & itchy skin on my feet. Every time I've gone to get it checked out, I get told 'probably athlete's foot' and given stuff to treat that. It's never helped.
Last I was at the derma for my quarterly follow-up, I talked to the guy I was seeing. One of the fresh out of school working under an experienced practitioner sorts... Explained hey, I'v tried the fungal-treatment stuff so much, it's never helped. He gave me, instead, prescription strength moisturizer and another cream that he said acts as a 'barrier.'
One month in and my feet have not looked and felt this good in well over a decade. SO NICE.
Being on the right antidepressant for me has served, in part, to highlight just how bad my anxiety disorder really is.
For a long time, it got chalked up to 'part' of my depression. So I kept being told 'Oh, once you find the right antidepressant, you'll be less anxious!'
Oh, no. No no no. When I'm not anxious? I feel pretty great. Calm. Content. Happier with myself than I've been in memory.
But oh the anxiety. On the one hand- now I know? On the other... fuuuuuuuuuck.
But she's definitely been made worse. In some of the comics, she has had arcs (here and there; they can be rare) with real, actual depth. Some of the justifications for her Suicide Squad costumes... 'We want to show that she's owning her sexuality.' I mean, OK. I kind of get that? But at the same time... Not many women (if any) are gonna go to the theater and think 'girl power' with those outfits. They're going to sigh about yet more fanservice.
This especially stands out in memory. Hate the outfit, but otherwise...

I've been sincerely wondering if there's really anything more to it than that.
Like why the teams are the colors they are? Because the original game carts were red, blue, and yellow and the mythical bird trio (which is where the logos come from) are blue, red, and yellow.
That's all it is. But Pokemon being Pokemon being Japanese, they had to give them... like... descriptions and shit. I dunno. I went blue because blue. I didn't know any of this Mystic Valor Instinct stuff. They didn't even have it in beta. In beta you just picked a color.
I'm Mystic.
Because blue is my favorite color and before the game was released, all we knew was 'teams are blue, yellow, and red.' So. Blue.
Some churches def. do.
The church my family attended when I was in my early teens handed out like, pamphlets once on the 'dangers of the Pokemon cult.' V. similar to the HeMan shit in the 80s.
But then you get stuff like:
Insomnia.
Fucking. Insomnia.
Lie down a bit before midnight. Toss and turn. Stare into the darkness. Try every trick I know to SLEEP.
When I finally looked at my phone, I'll be honest. I thought it'd be maybe 12:30 and it was just my hyperactive brain making me think I couldn't sleep.
Nope. 2:30am. Spent over two and a half hours. Which means I've hit the mark of 'get up, do something else for a bit, then try again.' Except I don't want to do anything else. I JUST WANT TO SLEEP.

Heard there was a park nearby that's lousy with Dratini. Rolled up at 8pm and there were atleast a couple hundred people there. Bonkers!
The park downtown here had about three hundred or so people on Tuesday. I was told it's had even more some nights. Kids. Folks in their 50's.
Someone shouts "SQUIRTLE!" and the mob just went running.
...I spent two hours there when all I'd planned to do was wander through.
Just found out today that my coworker (and the only other person who can do our job that requires 7-days-a-week coverage) is going on vacation for a week and a half.
So I lose my days off for a week.
The only upside is that since the parent company won't approve overtime, hours on my other project (which has been stressing me out so bad I have had crying fits in the middle of the day) have to be cut to accommodate... and this one pays more.
But this is not the time for me to not have days off.
The amount of data used is relatively low.
Now if you're out playing for hours every single day? It's gonna use a fair bit. But it's much less than say, streaming Spotify or Youtube.

sigh. Central Park stampede.
I still don't get it.
Vaporeons aren't all that rare.
Niantic has put up a very straight-forward form for people to request gyms/pokestops be removed. So likely folks like that will be filing such soon.
Boohoo for the kids, maybe, but then perhaps they should have been more polite about the areas they're playing.
"Kids were invading his yard to catch Pokemon and you won't believe what he did!"
"What this man did about kids invading his yard had us in tears!"
I really really really appreciate the doctors I've found here in WA.
The hydrocortisone shot in my hip didn't help, so I went in for a follow-up today. Pain is likely from the sciatic nerve. I half-expected her to do the 'Well if you lose more weight...' but she didn't. Maybe she's keeping track of things and has noticed I've been losing weight. Maybe she knows that everything isn't weight-related.
Next step is x-rays because she wants to be sure there's not something else amiss.
I'm just glad that for something that's been bothering me so much, for so long, that I've got a doc who genuinely wants to help.
A 15-year-old girl was hit by a car because she decided to try crossing a highway to go after Pokemon on the other side.
...her mother is now blaming the game and trying to start a campaign to get parents to disallow their children from playing.
I dunno, lady. Maybe try teaching your kid NOT TO RUN ACROSS THE HIGHWAY.
The Darwin awards are gonna be interesting this year.

Like Sunny said, the Pokestops/Gyms came from Ingress. They used about 2/3rds for Go (roughly, based on where I live and which portals became stops/gyms).
