I have a DM friend who uses Foundry VTT for all his games now, and I've found it really nice on the player end of things. Definitely better on both DM and player end than Roll20.

Got to echo this. In my 2nd D&D game now using Foundry and it's amazing.
Only the DM needs to purchase it.

@Runescryer I am loving it. It's a really, really good reboot (sequel? since it's not truly a reboot).

I'm hoping, really hoping, they bring back Good Idea, Bad Idea. That was my fave segment from the original.

@Auspice Are the stars made out of glossy paper?!

      It's a shiny-shimmery paper I ordered specially.
This paper! It's the proper length/size for folding stars.

If you order it, be warned that it ships from Singapore so it takes a while to arrive. But it is v. good paper for it. Even with my being rusty in folding, I only had a few that didn't come out right and had to be thrown out.

I took part in a (handmade items) secret santa. I shipped early both to avoid my procrastination/distraction from making me late and because all of the warnings about shipping delays made me nervous since my recipient is in Alaska.

She received it today and oh god, the amount of gushing in the Discord group is embarrassing me. In a good way, but still! She decided (smartly, since she's the first to receive) not to reveal I was the one who made it for her (so that other people don't have an edge on guessing their gifter) so I've been squirming all day with this sense of 'this is too much I want to say you're welcome and-'

I've never had anyone be this grateful for something I made for them before. It's lovely. ❤

Based on her interests/profile (lives in Alaska, likes having colorful/fun things to wear in the cold, likes Firefly, works with at-risk kids and likes having fun/bright things... I mean, there was more, but those are what stood out to me! (Actually, also that yellow is one of her favorite colors which ties into how I decided on what to make.)

So, I made her (these are the photos she took since I dumbly forgot to take any good ones before I shipped it out) a Jayne hat:

and a jar full of lucky stars:

Apparently the kids already love the stars ❤
I can't yet express to her how glad I am that she loves her gifts and that the kids she works with loves them too so I'm expressing it here. Seeing someone so full of joy for something you made is like, the best thing.

I wish someone would be my cats' favorite. For even a day.

Dozens of toys. A cat tree. But no, this damn 20lb asshole wants me to hold him ALL DAY LONG and will yell and dig claws into me when I don't.

(And people are all 'omg you're so mean to your cat' when I'm streaming and saying 'No' 'Stop' etc to him. I'M NOT MEAN I JUST WANT SOME TIME TO MYSELF.)

      Fun idea for the holidays:

      Go on UNICEF's site
Donate money for vaccines ($19 will get like, 100 polio vaccines)
Donate in the name of an anti-vaxxer relative
Send them a card letting them know

(Note: you need to do this through the 'Shop' link vs. the standard Donate button. I linked directly to it. It's their 'inspired gifts.')

I was put on wellbutrin for depression.
It's actually been kind of an issue when it comes to getting ADHD treatment (when I had insurance and all) because I'd repeatedly get told 'Oh, wellbutrin sometimes helps with that. Just give it time.'

IS FOUR YEARS ENOUGH TIME PEOPLE?!

Not quite the same thing as you're all talking about, but I think I'm the only person in this region who, when telling a story, isn't compelled to preface a self-quote in a story by saying, "So I said to her, I said," like I frigging Foghorn Leghorn.

"What had happened was" except it becomes "Whahahappenwas"

Super appreciate the $375 fine for "dumping", assholes.

How the hell is it dumping if it's on your porch?

Some municipalities are stupid about this sort of thing.

My mom once got fined for an 'unkempt yard' because the flowers around the mailbox weren't currently in bloom. Because a neighbor kept filing complaints.

Fellow four-eyed nerds who also wear facemasks!

Do your glasses fog up when you breathe? If so have you found any ways to fix this? It bugs me, but the reviews for anti-fog sprays on Amazon show... iffy results at best.

I just wear masks that I can sort of nudge up beneath my glasses. So long as my glasses overlap the mask, I do OK.

It helps that I mostly wear my (prescription) sunglasses when I go out. Which...... doesn't help when I go in stores and push them up on my head and become effectively partially blind, but my old pair of glasses are practically worthless so. XD

But yeah: masks that can nudge up just under the bottom edge of the glasses lessens the tendency to fog. Doesn't negate it, but it helps.

So it's a good news / bad news. Yay I got a job I really wanted! Boo I have to strugglebus another 2 months.

But I can do it. Knowing there's a light at the end of the tunnel makes it much easier.

Is this the technical windmill whatever?
