IIRC, a friend who does Pathfiinder Society stuff mentioned once that the reason they don't use other sales sources is a method of control of PDFs getting out there and trying to help handle piracy.

RE: The Music Tastes Thread!!!
LOL. I don't even watch the videos half the time.
Skinny Puppy and Combichrist I had heard before, I like Stromkern and I think Suicide Commando was on one of the mixes I've got. I like the Boy Harsher one you posted; going to look more into that one.
VNV Nation has been one I've listened to for a while too. I tend to swing between that style of EBM synthpop and 90s/early 2000s house and club techno. Stuff like https://youtu.be/JjTV8i_KjXM or https://youtu.be/TxvpctgU_s8.
Re: that goth channel
Oh, damn. I needed that to go into my list.Also, some older gothrock stuff I love?
Nosferatu. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=v5O_SeIbgHM is a particular favorite. -
RE: The Music Tastes Thread!!!
Are you sure you linked the right thing? That seems more hip-hop/shades of trip-hop.

@Wretched
That's awesome. Psyclon Nine is something I picked up on a whim looking for Sabbat-inspiration. My favorite song of theirs has to be: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=52xoRLh2dWwAlso, from that whole Sabbat-inspiration music search, I also found:
Dawn of Ashes: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=49-2Fp2Du4s
Centhron: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=E7kYSvF8D-w
Faderhead: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dDoS31sznxgAnd if you like female-fronted goth/rock/metal bands? Holy shit, you have your pick.
https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PLuV2JYJ0B27mGzSVtwnpvhC2yqFcxzYSz is a huge playlist this person keeps adding and adding to. But some of my favorites?
Divine Ascension: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_SQFvsJSH80 (and the one guitarist is f'ing hot too, so...)
Elysion: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tXs_O047CcQ
Semblant: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QIedr_9_9hA
Huntress (very 80's metal feel): https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_SKELDVRJDY
The Murder of my Sweet: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iUwo2MaNDrk -
RE: The Music Tastes Thread!!!
When my internets aren't so slow, I'll swing out some of my other stuff. A lot of what I'm catching an interest in lately has been from long mixes by a DJ on youtube called DJ Dark Modulator. Through him I found:
Mental Disciplne (synthpop): https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=C5VaYOw0hSw
Kromak (linked above, synthpop/electro)
BAK XIII (electropop): https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7hcO-NLF668
Eisfebrik (electro): https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cpA3g1JzyRk
Mono Inc (this is a compilation video, though; electro/industrial I think): https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ocbLw49Or44And we also have some good old standbys:
Birthday Massacre (goth-synth-rock): https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kp1FRKc24Zk
Xandria (symphonic rock): https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gGTAmmTiD_Y
Blutengel (vampire gothrock with melodic undertone): https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3Xsn_2bTU0A -
RE: The Music Tastes Thread!!!
LOL. Glad I could share some good music there.
My recent kick has been swinging back around to some futurepop and synthpop stuff, like this: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cyThcJ4FMwQ
Or some other industrial, like Alien Vampires and Noisuf-X and Psyclon Nine.

AnomJobs Guide?
Does anyone have a newbie-friendly AnomJobs guide? Particularly one that is fairly straightforward. Something with both common admin-side commands/functionality and player-side commands would be super helpful.

RE: DC : Gods and Monsters MUX
@auspice
Oh yeah, I wasn't expecting that. But you never know. Plus it's weird apping on a game where I can't just go 'Oh, WORD VOMIT STUFF ABOUT GAME'.Now to just get pitch and stuff written, and some coordination with some people for backstory stuff.
-
RE: DC : Gods and Monsters MUX
I did my +request. I'm like you, there's some media spinning together in my head (Smallville-inspired teen adventures rather than Superboy; StAS/JL/JLU-inspired 'world of cardboard, constantly suppressing his powers' Superman; everyman Christopher Reeve-inspired Clark Kent angle) since I don't religiously follow comics.
-
RE: DC : Gods and Monsters MUX
Well, I'm digging into the wiki now. With Clark open and a general conceptual idea of 'world of cardboard/everyman Christopher Reeve' Clark Kent in my head, I'm kinda leaning that way.

RE: RL things I love
They are only PoD though, at least right now (I've heard tell of a retailer program, but have never heard any detail of it). It's obviously used though, so someone offloaded it. I know a local who offloads his stuff all the time when he has money problems, so he's the likely source of it (his new MET Vampire is there, for example).

RE: RL things I love
I have a copy of Ascension Revised. I was just surprised to see a 20th Anniversary book at HPB.

RE: Vampire Requiem 2nd Edition Bloodlines Question
@zombiegenesis
They're popular, sure. But popular doesn't mean good. Hell, anything from the Bloodlines the Chosen book is iffy, as it was written by fans (mostly members of the Camarilla) for a contest.The Houses version of VII is my favorite. It's well-written and provides interesting political stuff, as they also have a bent for infiltration and sabotage into the Covenants. So you don't just have OH GOD THEY'RE BURNING ELYSIUM.
-
RE: Vampire Requiem 2nd Edition Bloodlines Question
@zombiegenesis
Not specifically related to your Bloodlines topic, but...So when thinking about bloodlines I'm trying to think about the above theme and the city in general. We have the obvious notes of gangs (Bruja), international(so maybe some cultural clans like the Giovanni or Ravnos),
So you're planning on mixing in OWoD conversion Clans as Bloodlines?
oWoD Sabbat like group allowing for some old-school type oWoD clans (Tzimisce for instance).
Just use VII. Use the Houses version of VII from the VII book, and you are good. You get your internal politics, your hate-on for regular Kindred and some neat powers that should pop to 2E easily if you choose to use them.

RE: RL things I love
So. Not really 'love' but funny.
This was at my local HPB.

RE: Freelance NPC Offer
If people are willing to work around my wangy schedule, I could get behind this (it would also keep my brain revving whilst I work on devstuff for HotB).

RE: [Original Supernatural/Vampire MUSH] Houses of the Blood MUSH
@arkandel
That's one of the bigger concerns. Ultimately, my thought process on it, is that it's not intrinsically an easy ritual. It's less 'drop a Phoenix Down' than it is 'invoke Pluto, get a trial to try to bring Jane of House Gaius back to life'. In the vein of Orpheus and Eurydice, it would involve more than just 'Yo, Pluto, my buddy is the most bad-assest bad-ass monster killer ever, and we need him back.' 'Okay, here ya go!' Like, resurrecting the most powerful member of the Legion Mortuum who died from treachery, would require something different than resurrecting your favorite fuckbuddy offspring.It would more be a plot unto itself, and probably (since it would be a staff-controlled end point) something that would have some tailoring guidelines, and the resources used in general (not just from a plot participation standpoint, but from a resources standpoint; I envision the trial requiring a LOT of blood at least, if not other things that would cost resources in the form of Downtimes, Influence and such).
I could also see some good roleplay come from actually FAILING, and at least getting to perhaps exchange final words with Jane from House Gaius before she straight up goes to... well... no one really knows where a Blooded goes when they die.

RE: [Original Supernatural/Vampire MUSH] Houses of the Blood MUSH
So, I haven't been really community crowd-sourcing things for the game. I have a vision, and I'm working towards that. But I'm toying around with a few ideas that, while I like in concept, I'm not sure if would get much, if any, play... so I'm going to crowd-source to see if there's even an inkling of whether or not they should be developed. The first is IC Resurrection...
- Vampires can die. Enough trauma from mundane means, exposure to their banes... their physical bodies, despite being immortal and maintained by the life force of the living, can die.
- But they are blessed by Pluto, God of the Underworld (and if modern thoughts are to be believed, an Incarna of Life Force).
- I'm thinking about using this as a baseline to allow destroyed vampires to be revived, through staff-run plots, in the vein of Orpheus and Eurydice. Vampires would undergo rites led by the priestesses of House Claudia and with the lore gathered by House Axia, they can petition Pluto for the soul of the dead Blooded.
I'm debating whether or not to whirl this out into a full-fledged plot thing.
