Anyone got a crunchy roll guest pass they can share? Or know of a good site for streaming anime?

RE: Desc Me LA?
@Autumn Grid is done, because I apparently never dug Pasadena or Griffith Park-- so I'm just gonna cut them. \o/ The grid is seriously big enough without them. But I could use some hangouts.

RE: Desc Me LA?
Done through to hollywood. Seriously, anyone wanna help me? T.T I'd love if it people would tackle some of the 15 rooms that are left. OR build some +hangouts. It'll be sad if I open a game without a single place for people to RP save for grid rooms.

RE: nWoD2.0 Support Code?
@Tempest Frankly, that's up to the staffers that use it. I could code it so there's an opt in to where shit goes to a staff monitoring channel. But, you know, as a staffer I'm not going to be too concerned about monitoring someone's +texts/+calls, since I know it'll be used for tiny+textsex.

Cobalt's Universal IC +Message System
Wherein I will begin to discuss and scratch out my universal +message system for IC messages.
Overview: An set of soft code for tinymux (I'd be down to talk/work with @faraday on how to make it portable to other codebases), that can handle IC messages between players. It will allow for a backlog of what messages have been received and viewing of those old messages. It will come with a default set of message types but be set up to easily allow for game owners to add others. It is meant to be light, easy to "install", and easy to use. Players shouldn't be required to do more than +email/+call/+text <name> to send a message.
Purpose: IC messaging between players that can be track separately from OOC messages.
Theoretic Commands:
-
+email/+text: list your current last X messages (5-10 for ease not being spammy).
-
+email/+text #: View specified message.
-
+email/+text <person>=<message>: Send <person> an email/text with specified message.
-
+email/new and +text/new: Get first "new" email or text.
-
+email/delete and +text/delete #: Delete specified email or text. (Unsure if needed.)
The above commands would be the basis for any 'custom' messages-- a staff member could add +tinder for example, and they'd follow the same format from above. -
+call[s]: List your current last X calls.
-
+call <person>: Call person. Their phone rings, possibly a message pops up in the room.
-
+call/answer: Answer incoming call.
-
+call/decline: Decline incoming call.
-
+call/end: End current call, done from either side.
-
+call <text>: Respond to current call. Possibly echo to the room what person is saying.
I am not 100% certain that I want to handle +Call in this manner, I may be overthinking +Call, and it could potentially just be like the above. And be quiet so other people don't see it. I'm debating immersion vs annoying to other people. I could add +Call/quiet so that someone can talk on the phone and not have it echo to the room, and +Call/silent, which sets their phone to 'silent' so only -they- get a message about their phone ringing.
Codey Thoughts:
- Set up central functions that can be called just by doing [u(fn.happyfunmessages, type)], where type is email, text, etc.
- Store message types on a list: d.message_types: text|email|twitter|whatever. (I'm not soft coding twitter.)
- Add softcode command that allows staff to add a new message type easily?
- Figure out how to store the data on the messages going between players. Store on players? Or a central log object using theno's log code?
@skew i know you wanna hook it to SQL, if you wanna work together and you do the sql bit we could do that?

RE: nWoD2.0 Support Code?
@faraday What I'm thinking of is something like this:
- Object-free (because ew).
- Message types: So all the code would go off of one made code object, and hopefully have split out functions that'll be easily called.
- Message database: So a player can review their +Txts, +phonecalls, +emails, etc.
What I'm currently stuck on is how to store the data. Store it on the player? Some central db? etc.
But ...not like having a cellphone object, or anything like that.

@Cobaltasaurus
Can I ask a question? Unless you're going to like, allow phone hacking and such, what's the point of even making that code? How often does it get used? Is it worth the time? It's something to consider, I think.- To have a backlog of your IC texts / messages.
- To be able to have a little bit more immersion of IC messages going around other than through pages or @mail.
I want to be able to look a list of texts that have gone back and forth without say sticking on a wikipage for everyone to see, or logging them somewhere, but be able to access them in game. As well as have phone code that emits to a room on a ring (unless silenced), etc.

RE: nWoD2.0 Support Code?
@Jennkryst tl;dr no.
Long answer: I want to go with something a bit more easily portable, and not-complicated to set up and use. So I'd rather not link +call/+text to objects.

RE: nWoD2.0 Support Code?
@Ganymede I could prolly grab skew's +Repose and stuff from him. Or he can install it him damn self
@skew i'm rolling a message system around in my head. Something that'll handle +text, +phone, +mail, and others as needed. Hhhmmm.
When I sit down to sketch it out a little more, I'll start a thread for it.
@faraday (omg faraday posted in my thread, keep it cool cobalt keep it cool) hi faraday

nWoD2.0 Support Code?
Since I'm working on a Chronicles of Darkness game, and eventually I'll lose my mind if I don't get to do something other than look at wikipedia articles of Los Angeles and write informative @descs of places--
What are some things people would like to see for a WoD game support code wise? Here are some things I have pending:
-
+Info-- which is in game +info with fields like: "public", "race-specific", "race-specific-faction", "skill specialty", etc. (For example: A vampire would have a public info section, a vampire section, a clan and covenant section, and maybe a section on investigation if they have investigation 3+). This would, of course, all be voluntary to fill out, but I'd probably incentivize it.
-
+Housing/+Rent/+Etc-- A more robust/automated system for getting an apartment/house on grid without having to go through staff.
-
+where/+who/+finger-- just updating those. I really need to go back through and recode +finger like I was gonna ages ago.
-
+Spells? Maybe a +spells thing for Mages, so they can track what they have up without having to go through staff.

RE: Desc Me LA?
Updated once more. Grid is done through to Hollywood-- there are three more areas that need descs. The sooner I get the grid space done, the sooner I can go back to writing theme, and making sure the code is ready to go. I might cut out Pasadena currently if I become exhausted from desc'ing the other areas.
Also, if you'd like to help but don't want to desc a grid room-- I'll take suggestions, descs, and help creating hangouts. Including:
- Vampire Elysia.
- Main Changeling hang out both real world and hedge.
- Mage HQ
- Werewolf neutral territory.
- A Place To Put A Super Secret Mortals For Saving The World From Monsters while Working with Monsters HQ.
- Eateries.
- Apartments (wee i wanna code things so we don't have to +req them).
- +hangouts that are fun and not just coffee shops. Parks! Random parks! I'll put parks where there aren't real parks because idgaf.
- ANYTHING.

RE: Desc Me LA?
Updated again. Hey look, two more descs and I'm done with the downtown core. \o/ Gotta leave work tho.

@Cobaltasaurus I would come help but I don't do real cities justice. Especially ones Ive never been too
I'm literally just writing information down from wikipedia at this point.
If anyone complains THEY CAN WRITE DESCS THEMSELVES. >:P

RE: Desc Me LA?
Updated the list with the three descs I managed to do tonight. But now I need to go do my exercise for the day, and shit. Thanks @Aria.
