You should just watch DBZ Abridged. It's better than both normal and Kai.
Because it's parody and hilarious.

Arrow is over and whatever your thoughts on it, it gave us Crisis on Infinite Earths on television and for that I will be forever grateful.
Also the last episode was pretty sweet.

@Coin you can scroll back on discord though, right? It's a little better than skype groups at least though maybe that depends on the volume.
Either way, my cognitive inability to keep up with that kind of thing now really gets to me/makes me frustrated too, so. Not the medium for me, I definitely find it easier to be a contributor to a board than something like that. Might be just a matter of spending my time in it though.
You can, but conversations in chats tend to have a much shorter lifespan of acceptable input. If you're scrolling back on discord and pitching into a conversation that's four days old, people are usually done and on to other things; not so much on a forum.

@Kestrel I am aware that your discord exists, as you know, and I'm glad that it's continued from when you started it.
However, I personally prefer a forum format like this (I have tried to be part of discord communities before and even when they were nice, it my brain doesnt adapt well to keeping up.). It may very well be that more constructive conversations will happen on discord rather than boards because that's just kind of what everyone is migrating to.
The conversations may very well be more constructive but they are unlikely to be as accesible (and thus inclusive of participants) since not everyone is around at the same time. At least on a forum, you can just drop your opinion in at the end like a boss.
I mean, my petty social-thrashing peeve is people who aren't dependent on their place in the music industry actually giving awards like the Grammys any weight.

I don't know who decided that work should start in the mornings, but that person is shit and I hate them.
I could legit come in to work at 11 AM or so, but I hate hate hate hate hate being at work in the afternoon. Anything past 3PM is just horrible.
So.
Anybody watch October Faction yet? (I haven't.)
Looks like a Warehouse 13/Supernatural/etc kind of thing.
I have.
If you liked Sanctuary, you'll like October Faction.

Not entirely sure where to put this. Not a peeve, but not ... anyway, so this happened to me today.
Me: peruses inbox at work (for a government agency)
INBOX: Top email subject line: INVITATION TO SHANG
Me: chokes on coffee, looks horrified, like WHAT THE ENTIRE FUCK. Tentatively click on e-mail.
EMAIL: INVITATION TO SHANGHAI BALLET
Me: OhthankyouJesus.
Sounds more like Random Funny to me.
Not a fan of these mini-Netflix services, but Picard IMO is worth the cost more than Discovery is. I'm biased, though, because I think Trek should have never left the Prime timeline.
Did ST:D confirm that it's not in the Prime timeline? I stopped watching during season 2. Plan to get back to it, but I've got a lot to watch. I'm thinking about getting CBS for a few months for it and for Picard.
Ish.
In a way.
@JinShei Is Musketeers as good as I'm told it is? I've been circling it like a vulture but havent committed yet.
I would love access to Sky to get my Karl Pilkington fix.
BBC The Musketeers from a few years ago? It's a lot of fun.
Stumptown. It's pretty good! And who the hell knew Maria Hill/the chick from How I Met Your Mother could act?
???? Everyone who watched HIMYM and the Marvel movies and shows she was in???
Seriously.
This whole "I didn't like this person in this role and so that means they can't act" thing needs to stop.
It depends almost entirely on how I go about my character creation process for that character.
I do it in several ways:

Here's the thing....
(and I doubt I'm alone in this)
Even pre-PBs, I didn't read descs.
So many people wrote meandering, confusing descs that left me
The best I could glean would be, for example: 'ok, female and.......... red? hair?'
So I like PBs. I like PBs because they're a better descriptor of what your character looks like than your words are. Most of you can't write what a person looks like for shit with your 'lithe lean voluptuous curves' and 'limpid verdant pools'

My hubs does the same thing - except with cucumbers. He doesn't even bother to cut them up.
Noice.
Carrots are, no lie, my favorite vegetable.
My country's supermarkets don't sell baby carrots (or those that do, when I've seen them, are prohibitively expensive) but when I lived in the U.S. I loved to just buy a bag and eat them like, I dunno, grapes or some shit.
I also learned to eat carrots from Bugs Bunny cartoons so I either just chomp on them, or I get super obsessive about it and I use my teeth to go all over the carrot, peeling the skin off it. Then I take a second pass, biting off the meat around the root. And then I eat the root.
My ex used to watch me, both fascinated and horrified.
I love carrots.
ProTip: if you're going to cook them in the oven, use small carrots, they hold the sweetness better.
@faraday said in The Savage Skies - Discussion Thread:
The leader-admiring thing? That's a subtlety and I can see both sides. Personally I would not be bothered by a character who had been convinced by propaganda that their country's leader was a good guy, even if that leader were Stalin or Hirohito. Especially if it were coming from a place of wanting to explore that character learning the truth and coming to grips with the reality that their beloved leader was partaking in war crimes. Admittedly, though, that might be too subtle for most MU stories and I wouldn't blame anyone for wanting to nope out of it on principle.
I'm not sure it's too subtle for most MU stories; I do think it's too personal for most discussions about broad themes on a MU, though, in the sense that most people even on the game are probably never going to perceive any nuanced or slow character shift, if Kazuko decides to play it that way, simply because she probably won't interact with 50% of the game's entire player base over the course of its existence, especially not to that intimate a level.
A lot of very deep and meaningful and character-driven stories are told on MUs and most of us just don't see them, and that's fine, it just also makes it difficult to use that as a column for discussion on threads such as this one.
