RE: MU Things I Love
The moment you come up with the pefect RP ship portmanteau, even if it's literally years too late:
Phyggy.

RE: Finding MU*s
The Advertisements board off the main menu has ads for a ton of games as well as running commentary on how good (or bad) they are.

I'd sum it up as something like 'they all want to be the lead from Da Vinci's Demons', though I'm not sure how many people have watched it. (It definitely went to those kinds of places, and often aspired to be clever-er-er-er-er-er than that, even.)
Me, me, me! I watched it!

As a side note, I want to remark that I've since encountered Lego Lass on a couple of games, and she seems to have calmed down and has been pretty chill. Of course, we also haven't been on any IP themed games, so if it comes up again, we'll have to see.
In the meantime, I go back to trying to explain to someone as gently as possible that on L&L games, marriages are often business arrangements. Yes, even if you love your intended.

RE: RL Anger
@surreality You cannot tell this story and not share what show this is! My brain is going to berate me to find out, so save me some grief, PLEASE.
Edited to add: Ah, someone else figured it out.
Though it's funny how in retrospective as societal convention changes, some things become very difficult to watch. I mean, Blazing Saddles is hilarious, but I feel a little less good about enjoying it now.

RE: Which canon property/setting would be good for a MU* ?
I think the cinematic element of the fighting in Into the Badlands is a matter of the skills of the writers involved. But there would need to be a reasonable mechanic, and the opportunity to perform cinematic feats.

RE: Course Corrections
Aside from the fact that Leggo Girl was just so funny, I find that correcting that kind of thing is a lot easier than the tenses issue. I could see people feeling like their RP was being attacked for bringing it up - but when people continue to pose in past tense around a bunch of people using present tense, is it just sloppy? Is it a passive aggressive fuck you? I don't know.

RE: Course Corrections
@SG Cars and cigarettes and no Jesus. The major religion of the setting is polytheistic.

Also, like, just make up plastic block toys that aren't called Legos?
Which I think is a completely reasonable way to approach it, but yeah, 'brand names' wouldn't be a thing.
There was similar frustration when The Drift was up and running, with folks (one of whom I'm certain was Leggo Chick) not just having not seen the film but actively refusing to do so, wanting to play Jaeger pilots. It's not even being asked to watch the entire series of BSG for theme relevance, it's 90 minutes of a movie. And an actually good one, at that!

So if you see another player doing something - well, not WRONG, but maybe not so right? Do you offer corrections? Do you go through staff?
For example:
- A player uses past tense in poses, when the general consensus is present tense. Do you say something?
- A player ICly says something or poses an unthemely reaction. Do you say something?
What's the best way to approach this kind of thing without coming off like a dick? Or is the not-dickish thing to do is try to ignore it?

RE: Which canon property/setting would be good for a MU* ?
One of the reasons I think Into the Badlands would work is because in its way, it's a very structured universe.
Assuming the game only takes place within the Badlands and outside influences are NPC only, there are lots of options to play:
Clippers - soldier/assassins/enforcers. Probably a lot people will go for this. Each individual Barony has its particular look and theme. Each Baron also has a Regent, their head clipper. Some Barons have all-male clipper forces, some all-female, some mixed.
Barons - and their families, assuming Barons are not NPC only. Basically the heads of household. FYI, Barons can be female.
Craftsmen - Leatherworkers, blacksmiths, tattooists, even doctors and healers. Technically most of these are cogs, or retired clippers, but they have somewhat more status than cogs who work the fields and industries and households.
Cogs - the regular joes. Often fieldhands, house servants, etc. In some baronies, cogs can actually work their way into the upper "classes" - prove themselves worthy of becoming clippers, draw the eye of a baron or a member of a baron's family, prove they are worthy of learning a more advanced skill.
Edited to add: I suppose I should add Dolls to the mix, but that would depend entirely on how staff would field about prostitute characters.
And that's just within the Badlands. It opens up even further once you're past the walls.

RE: Coming Soon: Arx, After the Reckoning
I've just created a new House as a County in vassalage to my PC, with four characters added to the roster. Influenced by Polynesian and Japanese shore culture, House Seliki is now available for your consideration.
As a side note, previous gender-based concepts regarding the House's culture have been removed in accordance to theme. Cheers!

I know I've said it before, but to reiterate, if there's an Into the Badlands MUSH, I am there with bells on.

Oh naw, nothing happened beyond yet another conversation with a cat owner where they insisted that their cat would take down my dog. To which my best response was

RE: RL Anger
@Arkandel: I never, ever take Rock outside without being on a leash, unless we are in a completely enclosed area. Because if he decides to take off, well - he'll make 45 mph in six to eight strides. I keep him away from cats in general, and I always have access to at least one muzzle (I keep a backup in my car just in case, as well).
I used to go to dog parks, and I would let the smaller dog owners know, "hey, my dog has a prey drive, please keep an eye on your little one" - sometimes they'd just shrug me off, and fortunately nothing terrible happened, but I'm hyperaware that it could have.
I don't generally expose Rock to cats, I'm just tired of every cat owner I know when having a conversation insisting that their feline can kick my dog's ass. Like yes, I get it, cats can hold their own against a lot of different dogs, but greyhounds are trained hunters and they're fast as fuck, but it's just as likely he will get his jaws around your furbaby and things will not end well. It's like they want to start a pissing contest I'd rather not get into in the first place.
