You may not be able to stream, but I'm sure there are ways to download and watch offline. While it's only six episodes, the first season of Into the Badlands is incredible.

@Ghost Whitewashed, Blandwashed, Christianwashed, I don't care what you call it. Abigail Bresling is "half-Jewish", and Debra Messing is Jewish, but the characters weren't played with any obvious indication of it, including removing lines that Kellerman says when he talks about his zayde. The reason for it is frankly irrelevant, I just think it sucks.

There are plenty of shows that do informed Judaism quite well, it was disappointing that they felt it necessary to remove it from this remake. But then, the remake is TERRIBLE, so maybe not so much.

There are at least two Battlestar themed games out there.

ABC's new version of Dirty Dancing was a complete piece of unnecessary eat my shit pie, but I'm also doubly irritated that they white-washed the Housemans and the Kellermans into painfully WASP-y versions of themselves.

#1. It's themed more cohesively at first glance.

I'm obsessed with greyhounds running. The double suspension gallop is so frikkin' cool.

Rock is an emotional support companion. I have the documentation from my doctor. This is NOT the same as a service dog.

That being said, when people ask if he's a service dog, I tell them he's an emotional support companion. Most of the time they don't question me further, but if they press, I'm generally decent about stepping out if there's a problem. Amongst places I won't take my dog: salons, restaurants, etc.

Except for that one bitch who basically told me to never take my dog anywhere because she had allergies.

@Thenomain That reminds me of a particularly contentious discussion I had with a fellow MU*er from Canada who took significant umbrage with how I don't like being told "Merry Christmas". I made a comment about North American culture, at which point she blew up at me about how not everyone you speak to is from the USA.

The irony did not escape me.

A common and fundamental understanding of the nature of insult, and communication in general, is that too often the person communicating assumes, usually wrongly, that their intent and context will be interpreted correctly by the person receiving that communication. The process of conveying concepts has long been subjective. It's easy to place fault in the hands of the receiver, because it's easy for the communicator to exist in a self-contained bubble, aka "Well, I know what I meant!" It doesn't work like that.

Not even gonna lie, I'd love to lure some people into Deepwood and Seliki.

Would it be wrong of me to hope certain players come back because he's gone?

Something I am curious about:

How long has she been playing Gisa? More to the point - How long was she playing Gisa before the news broke?

How has she behaved thus far? Someone's indicated she has the uber-enthusiasm thing going and for them it's an irritant. Has she exhibited the known toxic warning signs, and if not, is it still within the time frame that she usually would by now?

I haven't been on the game, so I couldn't say.

@Ghost Possibly. But I can track their behavior across WoD games. If they're playing on Arx, I haven't twigged to it, and I'm happier for that.

I want to come back, but I'm finding that there's at least one player that I viscerally cannot stand, and to the point where I feel like the emotions and behaviors they invoke in me are not enjoyable or pleasant or right. They aren't doing anything wrong per se, just exhibiting patterns of behavior I've watched ad nauseam over a variety of games that level hard against my tolerance for bullshit.

I'm a little bit angry that I have to weigh my desire to enjoy the game against the response this player elicits from me.

Edited to add: No, it's not Spider.

My alarm bells went off when I inquired about a disagreement he had with a member of Redrain, and he responded that "Redrain only RPs with characters who have a cyber-slit".

Or some such equivalent. Really, it's the word "cyber-slit" that was the point of that classy sentiment. After that, I pretty much did my best to avoid him.

If and when Spider misbehaves, I'm sure she'll be removed with all prejudice, I assume.

It's hard to say "give her a chance" because she's burned so many chances, but if there's one thing I've learned, people are capable of immense levels of change. And that's speaking as someone who has also had chances, immense levels of change, and has been personally bent over and fucked by many of the things she's done.

So I'd say give her one chance, one opportunity, and if she fucks up, out she goes.
