How exciting and fresh for a setting! Small-town game set in the Northeast? Instant classic.

And...
I'm not seeing a connection. What's the point of posting Reynaud's finger info? What does it have to do with Renaud? And that Custodius uses that name on other games doesn't mean much when it's used on a game heavy with French names.
Yes... a horribly mispelled French name, you mean? Maybe I shouldn't have used that first +finger there since it illustrates nothing apparently.
I give up, anyhow, the warning is made, I'm ready and more than willing to be proven wrong, and I'll gladly say my bad if so.
@Sunny Did you read it all? The +finger is the username of the guy who is NOT Custodius, per what you told us, including with his last login time, to prevent confusion.
The WHO is highlighting a name that Custodius used in the past and was presumably logged in with.

@Sunny has said, I think several times now, that this Reynaud is not Custodius.
I even highlighted the different names/logins. Surprised you didn't bother reading.
@Glitch If you check the 'Fading Suns' thread in the Mildly Constructive board, you will see this is one of the many names he's used in the past. I don't think of this guy as particularly creative, and really, he isn't.
The player who is not Custodius' +finger:
+finger reynaud

Hi Custodius.
@Cirno Spend your own money with one, dude, I'm not here to provide you with solutions. Make the game you want to see played and all that shit.

Did somebody say Fading Suns?
Nope. It's all in your head.
Ah.
Well, then, I propose a Fading Suns game, or, perhaps, a FS-inspired Alternate Universe game, with black people in it.
It can have people of other races inside, but my proposal here is a setting where all the major nobles are black, and they exercise their dominion over a mix of White, Asian, and hispanic peoples.
While I would prefer that it not begin, or end, as a sex game, if only to prove that I would, in fact, like to remain true to the source material (to a certain degree, at least), one cannot deny that there are those who would find this concept appealing, in a certain sense.
Does this sound good? Would anyone like to play on it?
Here's a quick backstory I rustled up in five seconds:
In the early days of humanity, the small kingdoms of Africa merged into one super-state that then took control of the entire Earth, eventually pressing into space.
<Insert Fading Suns storyline here, except with an Afrocentric bent>
Today, in the world of the Fading Suns, Emperor Musa XXXXVI, many-times-descended son of Mansa Musa of Mali, rules over a fractured, rotting-from-within space empire. The stars are going out.
In this setting, black people have psychic powers due to the concentration of melanin in their skin, which, in this universe, acts rather like the Midichlorians of Force Users in SW.
On the outer edges of space, smaller monarchies attempt to eat away at the control of the African Dominion - the Greater Orion Reich, comprised mostly of white people, the Eastern Prosperity Union, comprised mostly of Asian people, and the Castle Federation, comprised of Hispanic people.
Alzie's code is on a website, do go ahead and download it and build it up.
Please check your tickets on the main website. Kinda important code issue there.
Feel bad? They're simply wrong. I agree with your viewpoint though. Either you can apply for ANY concepts or these concepts should be restricted to everybody. This way, it's fair across the board. It's far worse to prohibit or impose artificial limitations to certain concepts to some and not to others.
@bored Almost tempted to make a game just to see the system itself in action.
There is no point to a Tabletop-style MU, to be honest. There are ways to make a game's politics engaging without neutering PCs in favor of NPCs (One of Paulus' biggest mistakes along with the lying). The Decados are a stupid powerful House and to be honest whenever they're the overwhelming majority, crazy shit happens. They're basically the Tzimisces of Fading Suns. I'd suggest a neutral planet, like the one that's reminiscent of a Cyberpunk civilization in one of the books, or something else. Hell, even figure out how Star Crusade went wrong and put a planet with a classic KWer vs Kurgan dispute where the KWers are the invaders for once.
Very, if it's a Gary Stu invincible kind of character.
I just think the Emperor and all the drama surrounding him is best left avoided. If he exists as a nonentity, that's fine, but nobody has made a FS game where Alexius doesn't have a finger in the pie.
@ThatGuyThere said:
So he acts like a feudal king?
No, he acts like a mix of Napoleon and Octavian. Which very much sucks in a game.
@Apollonius Fading Suns as an emo game would suck, man. Just set it before Alexius is ever chosen to be Emperor.
Lores work much in the same way oWoD Lores worked. They're specific sub-focii like The Hazat, or a Planet, or an Order. It illustrates just how much knowledge of that particular people you got access to at any point.
