@bored Honestly, I'll look forward to playing a Lion samurai or a Phoenix sorcerer.

So baiscally rehashes of my Kishi Kaisei characters? Fuck if I know.

@Auspice Netflix would rather give us shitty B-movies than quality series and once the subscriptions start dropping, they'll find out why stripping themselves of good content was a mistake.

@ganymede Social health care systems work if people aren't abusing the system

Signed, someone who lives in a place with a social healthcare system in place, but which is dysfunctional due to various frauds at various levels

would be better if you had to make symbolic payments to doctor's appointments, etc, if you're not in conditions of extreme poverty.

@darinelle said in RL things I love:

Bath bombs. I don't even care if that makes me the Beckiest Becky who ever Becky'd. DON'T CARE.

      Lush bath bombs, specifically.

      Don't judge.

Or do. My skin feels great and I am chill and relaxed. So you're just jealous if you judge. 😛

Naw, no judgment. Luxury is luxury.

@sunnyj It's less his sheet and more what he did and what character he was playing. He was playing an outcast goth 18 year old boy who tried to incite a riot while there was a threat of cannibals in a forest being half-suppressed and that action caused a Kill Scene.

I should note some of those 'followers' of his were also about ready to lynch somebody for telling them to fuck off.

@auspice Wintergatan is the epitome of 'Do it Yourself', since they make their own instruments

@auspice You generally can tell real talent from faking it until you make it.

@auspice Coheed and Cambria made liberal use of pop hooks in their most popular albums, with lyrics that can range from disturbing to downright appalling. They're not the pinnacle of progressive rock talent, mind you, but they were still pretty good.

On the other hand, I find their latest material, including the soon to be released album's snippets that are already for public listening, to be quite flat compared and contrasted to their original material.

Then there's the fucking fact My Dying Bride just went 80s darkwave whereas they had been one of the precursors of doom-death metal.

And indie definitely took a turn to the cheap and easy commercial. I mean, you get Modest Mouse and Bright Eyes and maybe Cursive, and then you compare to the stuff that calls itself indie nowadays that is formulaic, not experimental in the slightest and just follows a very general blueprint.

Maybe Emogame was right. It's all been sold out and we're to blame.

Having said that, here's a song from Brand New's latest that I really like.

@goldfish Imagine a character with max strength, max dexterity, but no willpower. That was Eugene.

A scrawny kid at average height who looked like 40 year old Snape.

I suspect the transient nature of the characters themselves, with the underlying sense of permanence of the Archetypes themselves gives us less of a sense of competition with each other, so it feels more like an OTT game of Mafia or something.

IE: It's not a game where there are defined winners, but survivors, and it's definitely PvE with the expectation that you will most probably die, but at least those that survive you will probably have more interesting story because of it.
