IC discrimination is IC. As long as it doesn't bleed OOCly and is not unthemely you should just let it be.
We're all adults.

@magee101 I hope they do censor anyone who decides to say the sort of things you said. Please, man. In the future -review your beliefs-. The shit you said was straight on alt-right talking points man. To a tee. The sort of shit they sell the new recruits to try to lure them deeper into the morass. Trust me on this. You are going down a bad road.
So, this isn't an open call to crazies, but... talking to someone else on here about their situation got me to thinking.
Years ago, I met people on a MUSH and they let me move in with them and... I screwed it up for myself and couldn't hold down a job and ruined it. But they made that offer for me, and I would really like to pay it forward.
I've donated money to a few people on here already and given out bus tickets/etcetera when people needed it. So this isn't a 'first' for me. I'm not some creeper who is trying to lure people in.
So... if you can pass a criminal background check/initial drug test? I can -possibly- get you a job in Austin for 11-13 an hour to start. Or if you can get your own interviews before moving... great!
I can also let you crash at my efficiency (There is a bedroom, but no door on the doorway) if you need a place to stay until you get settled. I can assist with food and will provide decent internet as well, until you get a job locked down and a paycheck. In some cases I can even assist with travel expenses to Austin, but those -will- need to be paid back eventually.
Why would you want to live in Austin? Lots of geeks. Lots of job opportunities. Very laid back atmosphere, low crime rate. Weirdos aren't that weird. I saw a guy in a lion mask and business suit just walking through downtown the other day.
There are a few caveats:
Gender doesn't matter, but I have no interest in sleeping with you. No sex for room trade. Please respect my life choices.
Hygiene is important. Showering every day. Washing clothes. Brushing teeth. Not only does it keep you clean but having daily rituals helps you build a system and hold down a job better.
Personal space is important. Sheets can be hung. Whatever it takes. Also I don't like people touching my computer. The PS4 is fine, but the PC is sacred.
No thieves. If you steal from me, well. You'll probably get away with it. But you'll only hurt someone else who could have really benefited from the opportunity I am offering.
No severe mental issues. If you have severe mental issues (aside from the standard social anxiety/social issues many of us MU*ers have. I am not ashamed to say I have them myself!) you won't be able to hold down a job in an unfamiliar city and you'll only be hurting yourself by doing this.
Money. I don't expect to be 'paid back in full' for any help I offer but kicking a little back to me would be really, really helpful. I'm not rich by any means, but with budgeting and careful spending I can make this work.
So, why am I making this offer? Well I want to help out the community, obviously, but it's selfish too. If I can find a geek roommate I would love to move into a two bedroom apartment soon. So if we click I get a friend and better apartment out of the deal!
If you're interested? Well, drop me a private message on here. I'll consider anyone who meets the aforementioned specifications but we'll need to talk quite a bit before I do this. I'm not going to jump into it and damage someone's life by taking in someone who wouldn't do well here (or who might screw up mine!), but there's no harm at all in talking about it! None at all, so don't be shy. If nobody is interested? No big deal! I'm doing fine here.
@Joyeuse If anything the LGBT community is strongly, strongly catered to in MUs as opposed to real life. The vast, vast majority of us who MU are various degrees of liberal (and quite a few of us are LGBT using MUs as a way to express ourselves) and I have noticed that in games transgendered characters don't really have any of the struggles they do in real life.
They never get deadnamed. They are very rarely mis-pronouned. There aren't roving packs of NPCs sniggering and talking about them behind their backs if they don't 'pass' enough.
If anything the only negative I've seen with transgender characters is backlash against people who play fetishized versions of them; which in itself is silly considering how fetishized everything else is.
First they came for the child molesters and I did nothing, for I was not a child molester.
Then they came for the animal fuckers and I did nothing, for I was not an animal fucker.
Then they came for the rapists, and I did nothing. For I was not a rapist.
They never came for me, however, for I was not a child molesting, animal fucking rapist.
So does it require Resources 5 to live in like real life?
Hey, asshole. Just because you are CEO of a 47 million dollar company doesn't give you the right to try to treat me like a servant. Threatening to have me fired because I don't break the rules for you? That is trashy.
This is the dumbest thread I've seen in a while. Let me state a couple relevant points.
You can play whatever ethnicity or gender you desire. There is zero pushback against this. No game currently open today (bar a few old MUDs and MOOs) still have racism and bigotry baked in to any real degree. And the people who are openly racist/bigots actually get tossed out. Unlike real life.
Playing a PoC to learn empathy? Bitch please. The shit that folks who aren't white have to deal with on a daily basis -don't exist on a MU*-! Period. It is a sanitized experience. It's downright offensive to consider playing a PoC as 'walking in their shoes' or 'learning empathy'.
I recently discovered my company was billing the client I work under for... let's just say multiple days worth of coverage that was not provided. Math-wise it added up to a nice little chunk of money, at least for someone at my income level.
I brought it up with my supervisor and he threatened my job, essentially. So I took it to the client.
My supervisor is no longer employed. I really dodged the bullet. That could have gone really, really bad for me.
@surreality Time to Godwin's Law this shit. (Not really, but I'll be invoking Hitler as an example)
I don't care if you're Literally Hitler. Literally Hitler's friends wouldn't cut him off at the knees like that. The whole point of a friend is to -literally not do that shit-. This person is a leech. A parasite. Someone who sucks on your suffering and uses it to make themselves feel less like garbage. Nobody deserves to be treated like that. Not even Literally Hitler.
Please. Out this person. They deserve it.
I think I finally hit the wall. I am at a point in my life where I see absolutely no way forward. I see no way to improve my situation that is within my power. I have goals that are entirely unreachable and most of my waking moments are consumed with negative thoughts.
I ask this as a non religious person but... Pray for me. Please.
That's a peeve of mine. 'Pride in being overweight' is putting it very, very mildly. I'm fine with not making fun of people for being fat. I'm fine with understanding that it's their life choice. What I'm not fine with is people saying 'YOU HAVE TO LOVE THE FAT' and 'REAL WOMEN ARE ALL FAT'.
Let me just put a disclaimer here. My ideal woman has a few extra pounds on her. I don't find stick figures attractive. HOWEVER.
It's not fine for you to wear a tube top and short shorts when you weigh 300+ pounds. It's not fine for you to be so overweight that you need to ride an electric wheelchair at Wal-mart. It's not fine for you to glare at me and give me the stink eye because I'm not fat and make snide comments about -my- weight when I'm perfectly goddamn healthy. "Get some meat on your bones herpderpherp!" No. Fuck you. Lots of people struggle with their weight and recognize that it is a health risk and recognize that while it's not something to be overly ashamed of, it's definitely not something to be proud of.
I'm not going to fat shame you, but by god you're a horrible person. It's not fucking fine for you to make little girls think it's okay for them to grow up wider than they are tall. Children are being taught unhealthy fucking lifestyles and it's just as dangerous as the other extreme, which is making them think only Barbie-figures are beautiful. Maybe even more dangerous, really.
So that's my rant for the day. Sorry if I offended anyone.
I make it a point to never type anything I wouldn't say to someone's face.
@Arkandel If double-banning was a thing it would be too good for him.
The less time you spend on MU*s the more you enjoy the time you spend on them.
Guys only need to raise the toilet seat for a percentage of their bathroom visits. When they perform certain activities in the bathroom they too need it lowered.
Women never need to raise the toilet seat.
Math dictates that putting the toilet seat down causes the least amount of inconvenience for everyone.
It's about that time for me to post something like this again. Rather than digging up the old post (Because I am lazy, so lazy) I will start fresh.
My current roommate (who I imported from here/MU*dom) is doing well in Austin. She is employed and has an active social life. The first experiment has proven to be a success so I'd like to give it another go.
I am potentially looking for someone to sleep in the living room for a few weeks/months until they can get their own place or other group apartment arrangements can be made. (Unless the roommate should suddenly do an about face and be against the idea. I don't see this happening though.)
I won't be charging any rent and will provide free food/internet for as long as it takes to find you a job. As with my current roommate I can probably get you a job in security should you have a clean criminal background check. It's easy work and good for those who have issues with other forms of employment.
We are full up on pets at the moment (unfortunately) with a dog and a cat so the complex will allow no other pets.
All I ask for is moderate hygiene and a willingness to try.
If you're interested drop me a PM on here. I will discuss things with the roommate and we can go from there.
Edit to add: Gender doesn't matter. Just don't try one of those 'sex for lodgings' things.
I'm setting it up now and Bug in a Jar is the first person I intend to block.
I don't even care.
I don't want to date Thenomain. I just want to bang out a quickie and never call him again.
