Someone pointed out to me the fact that Modern Nights still exists, though it isn't currently open for business and likely won't be for the near future.

I asked the guy running it if he'd allow me to sandbox there, as the game has really awesome code (A fantastic cgen, for starters. And the hunt code is great. Allegedly.) and he agreed.

So I'm going to try to round up a few friends and run a nomadic-style RP troupe set in the 1980s vaguely inspired by the film Near Dark. I've got a few folks locked in right now but there's room for a few more if you're interested. I'll be running regular plots and anyone who isn't a donk is invited to join in.

No real commitment is required. If you make a character and just show up you can at least get some casual RP in, even if you're not involved in any plot foo.

It's a shame that people take 'PvP is allowed' and 'if you PK, let's make it drama free' and turned that into crying about it being a PvP game.

I don't trust myself or other players to play to the super high standard of the books. I might be a massive fanboy.

I will call around to clinics next week, then. I've had the deja-nausea symptoms for months and months now. The other one has just been the last few nights.

I'm sure they'll make another game where their characters star in every plot and similarly run it into a quagmire of nonsense when they get bored of being the Big Damn Heroes.

It's sad, but as this hobby gets older we're going to keep losing people. We may not notice it at the time, but every one of us that we lose is just another piece of our hobby, and our lives, gone forever.

However big or small that piece may be, the whole is still lesser for losing it.

It was nice to have someone around who made me feel like an amazing, considerate person by comparison.

We finally got a new hire at work! Yay!

...except the New Hire is already talking about quiting.
Also she doesn't want to work her shift, she asked for my shift instead.
Also she doesn't want Graveyard at all, so wants to transfer as soon as possible.
Also she has had two weeks of training and says it isn't enough, so I have to work her shifts for another week.
Also I have to work my shifts as well, so I get eight shifts this week. For a total of 70+ hours. Since my co-workers decided to make it so nobody but me has to work extra.
Also the bitch broke the fucking office chair we all have to share because she's so overweight and now it won't roll and it makes an awful scraping noise on the concrete.

Why. The fuck. I... just don't understand. Why won't the universe put on some lipstick? Why won't it wine and dine me? If it's going to fuck me, I at least want that out of it.

And the woman doesn't even have to come in late. She came in bright and early with a fake smile. The 'fix'? The bosses are making the Captain sit with us until my relief comes in, then letting me leave.

So basically they're making him wake up two hours early every morning and making me feel like a damn child.

I used to work at a grocery store as a cashier. Every time people would do that with the basket I would call for a price check and tell the stocker when he got there that there was no price tag on 'basket full of things'.

I didn't last too long.

I'm glad Gray Harbor is doing well. It seems like a lovely game populated and staffed by lovely people.

However, are there any other places out there to play on? I'm in the same situation as Cobalt in that I am not currently playing anywhere and would really like to run some plots/do some RP. Gray Harbor doesn't like it is up my alley as I checked out the theme and it wasn't for me, so I would be interested if there were any other options.

I love moving. Everything about it. Packing, unpacking, traveling, seeing new things. Being a different person than I was in the last town.

As for college labor, I'm old and grumpy but I'll gladly help unload a moving truck and buy a bowl of ramen for a new arrival.

That's a good idea. If you close the Hog Pit I for one will leave. So there's a bonus. Then you can close whichever section bothers Ghost the most, one by one, until nothing is left.
