I got the unfortunate news a few days ago that the mental health clinic I've been a patient at is going through some financial trouble. COVID related.
I got a call from their receptionist to let me know that due to them going through "some restructuring", my therapist had been let go without warning. I'd been working with this guy for about a year and then some. The last time we got to have an appointment over the phone, he'd remarked that he was very happy with my progress. He was looking forward to when we'd be able to chat again.
It's stinging to know that was the last time I'd be able to talk to him for help. They've already assigned me someone new, who I've been informed has picked up 12 new patients, all of whom were dropped from their carers like I'd just been. This isn't the first time this has happened either, as my previous doctors had moved outside of my insurance provider's network.
Starting a self-care relationship for the first time, twice in a two years. Yeesh. At least my psychiatrist can keep my medication supplied through the Summer.
