Now, you see, that's where we differ. Kat Dennings' Death resonated with me, but I suppose I have a thing for sassy emo girls.

Mekton Zeta/MTS Because we all need more giant robots in our lives. Though this one, I think is just a matter of time for me. I have a hankering for some Mecha based Space Opera in my life.
Honestly, I'll take The Jovian Chronicles or Heavy Gear.

RE: Dice code
If you're generating a number, and saving it to an array of some kind (presumably) then it's a very small step to save the array results somewhere for the curious.
Yeah, I guess so. Maybe I'm just ornery.
I mean, I don't care if I'm good at sex; what's important is --

MUSH commands certainly have a learning curve, which can be daunting for new players.
You also bring up "inertia" in the hobby, and that's also an issue. I no longer feel awkward typing "bbread <board number>/u" to look at all of the unread posts on <board number>, but I can understand if others do.
Like everything, there's a bit of a learning curve and reward if you take some time to walk it.

Sounds to me like they are lying to you.
Your doctor, presuming they are ethical and competent, should have someone covering them while they are out, in case of emergencies.
This sounds like one.

RE: Seeking DIY Advice
Dude, when did you start eating elephants?
I concur with everything here but add that I believe the most important first step is envisioning what you as a player would want to do within the game’s setting. In short: what am I the player to do here?
That will help you choose if you need a simple or complex stat system, which will help you pick which platform to start with, which is where I would start when it comes to cobbling together the code.

Is it one of those shows that appeals way more to adults than the supposedly intended audience?
Not really. My kids like it. My friends' kids like it.
I think it depends on the age and mindset of the kids.
But for adults? Yes, watch it.

You're conflating having power with not having weaknesses, which is not the same thing, though. Just saying.
Where your level of power can obviate or effectively conceal any weakness, you've probably got too much power. In my experience, STing these sorts of NPCs bores the shit out of my players.

My complex, where I've lived coming up on 2 years, won't rent a place to me, because she and I do not make 4 times the rent. I don't mean the two of us together. I mean each of us, separately.
We'd have to make over 80k, combined, to live here.
So, if I'm doing the math correctly, your monthly rent is around $833? You live in a city, if I recall, so the amount seems reasonable.
Without judgment, because the landlord wants to be assured that a sudden loss of job won't result in an inability to pay rent, it doesn't seem unreasonable to expect both tenants to be fiscally sound.
But if you have vacant units, like, maybe you should reconsider your policies? Because empty units generate zero rent.

RE: Consent-based games
@TNP said:
[N]on-consent assumes that players can't be trusted to play honestly (using consent to refuse consequences) and a host of similar situations. Both situations assume that most players are assholes without ethics.
I don't see it that way.
Non-consent provides a way for players to resolve conflict between characters where the players cannot agree on the outcome. Non-consent does not mean that players cannot agreeably resolve a conflict's outcome.
I perceive consent games as providing a mechanism by which one player may prevent the consequences of the actions of another's. I disagree with that. If there is a system of impartial conflict resolution, there ought to be no reason to eschew its use where there's no agreement.
However, I know, probably better than most, of the value of an amicable resolution prior to having it solved by an "impartial" system.

- I would get rid of the Forsaken Tribes and Pure Tribes altogether.
I think this is problematic, as it may apply to the Forsaken. The Forsaken Tribes are built into the system of character creation, and they are specifically balanced as far as Gifts and Renown go. How are you going to re-balance the system if you remove them?
Also, the Siskur-Dah is an essential part of W:tF 2E. How are you going to adapt that to W:tA?

RE: RL peeves! >< @$!#
I do the cooking. I do the grocery shopping. When the other members of my family are old, mature, skilled, and income-producing enough to take over the duties, then they can dictate the menu. Otherwise, they will eat what I serve unless they decide to be sufficient enough in their own devices to cook their own meals.
For my kids, that might happen in 15 years. For my partner, probably never; she rather likes what I make.

Not all Renowns need to be represented equally! I would do something like...
Black Furies: Wisdom
Bone Gnawers: Cunning
Children of Gaia: Purity
Fianna: Glory
Get of Fenris: Glory
Glass Walkers: Cunning
Red Talons: Purity
Shadow Lords: Cunning
Silent Striders: Wisdom
Silver Fangs: Honor
Stargazers: Purity
Uktena: Cunning
Wendingo: GloryMaybe not, but balance and equity is kind of what the new system aims for. What I would do is merge a few of the Tribes together based on origin and outlook, and eliminate the Stargazers altogether (because they are fucking stupid orientalist bullshit).
Black Furies: These chicks are closer to the Hunters in Darkness than any. Purity.
Bone Gnawers: Surviving in one's environment is the key to understanding it. Wisdom.
Children of Gaia: Following a different, knowledgeable, sensitive path to victory. Honor.
Fianna / Fenrir: Two sides of the strange, romanticized warrior-poet. Glory.
Glass Walkers: Who'd deny the Iron Masters aren't derived from them? Cunning.
Red Talons: Another side to the Hunters in Darkness. Purity.
Shadow Lords: Who'd deny the Lodge of Crows isn't derived from them? Cunning.
Silent Striders / Uktena: Well-traveled and well-learned. Wisdom.
Silver Fangs: The traditionalists at heart, bound to their rules and methods. Honor.
Wendigo: The other side to the Blood Talon equation. Glory. As for the Siskur-Dah, you could probably broaden its approach a bit, and have it apply to any hunt or mission undertaken by a pack for any kind of prey/target.

Personally, I'd make it the 'this is the collection of crap you get for choosing the template' for M/M+ (not ghouls or WB, but just 'mortal with supernatural merits' sort of +).
^ is relevant to the whole.
No, I got that. I get it. If you'll note, I thought it was appropriate for a M/M+ game like BITN. But for a mixed-race game (har har har), I simply believe that implementation creates peculiarities when you look at what lines like Werewolf provide. And then the argument of "why can't my vampire have it when his masquerade is a security guy / lawyer / professional stripper?" when you ban it for certain races because you don't want to give them too many advantages, and it's just not for me.
It's for everyone or no one on mixed-race games, for me.
