I really, really feel like we could just use a collective National Mom (tm) who is sick of everyone's shit and prepared to give anyone within earshot a piece of her mind.
We could all use some more Judy Greer.
Regarding the stupid, arcane chicanery of bankruptcy courts:
I donāt think anyone was being very serious about this being an actual goal. Besides, the issue was held unconstitutional long ago.
Forcing someone to jump through hoops to get a safe procedure is stupid.
Get or donāt get vasectomies or tube-tying, I donāt care. I care when someone thinks itās okay to second-guess that choice. But, yes, there have been lawsuits where someone argued that allowing a patient to get one of these procedures was malpractice.

I just realized She-Ra and the Princesses of Power is a failed TV show because at no point did Catra get the zoomies.
It really didn't fail at all. It's just one of those shows that would have been up for Emmys all over the place if it wasn't localized to Netflix.
Exo-Squad would have run its story arc had it not been produced by Universal Animation Studios back in the 90s.
And the 2011 Thundercats reboot isn't bad at all, but Rankin/Bass just didn't have the ability to put it out on a platform that it could control.
To be fair, last time I checked it was easier to reverse vasectomies than tube-tying.
Also, last time I checked, it's a lot harder to convince a dude to get a vasectomy than for a woman to get her tubes tied.
I am totally on your side on this when it comes to the dominion of men, but I'm going to say that there's probably more dude-bros who need a vasectomy than women who need their tubes tied.

- I logout when I don't have time. I do not sit idle.
- I never have an alt on any game. 1 character for my 1 player existence.
- I build content that can work with anyone even if I have a particular person in mind.
- I'm willing to jump in on scenes of any kind or type and see where the story goes (games with systems or not).
- I gag or leave channels as soon as I have RP.
I live by these five practices.
Don't break the number one rule: spouting hateful shit based on race, gender, identity, or disability.
Like, seriously people, don't do that shit. Especially when I'm at work. Especially when I have to prepare pleadings and motions for bankruptcy court. Don't fucking do this.
I have a daughter on the spectrum. I have a nephew on the spectrum. Some folks here are on the spectrum. Spouting shit like 'hurr hurr u sound autistic' is going to entertain swift action.
Autism is neither funny nor inherently negative. Using it as an insult or a pejorative will not be tolerated.

They're the ones that don't have to work, is my guess.
They're the ones whose family don't have the guts to make them work.

Adopting a pet should be more like adopting a child than just buying a toaster.
Having seen a lot of abuse cases involving adopted children, some people should really just be relegated to buying toasters.

People can know perfectly well that how they're feeling is unreasonable, but they still feel that way.
This is probably a flaw in my programming.
Oh well.
@arkandel said in Battling FOMO (any game):
But IMHO a lot of FOMO doesn't have as much to do with the game itself (although it's certainly been known to happen) as much as it does with players feeling socially insecure about being left out.
So, I go back to what I said: you are going to be left out of things.
It's an inevitability.
I understand that people may feel anxiety about falling out of loop, but, unless you are completely dedicated to being on a game all of the time, you are going to be left out of things.
It's going to happen.
Hell, even if you are? You can't be in every scene. You can't be in every little event that occurs on any game of any appreciable size. You can try to, or get the scoop OOCly, but that's going to lead to social ostracism because few people tolerate folks who have to be in everything, so you are going to be left out of things.
It's the nature of this hobby.
So, I don't understand why anyone with FOMO continues to play; how would you ever relax?
I have not understood FOMO for a while.
It is inevitable you will miss something online. Unless you are around 24/7, this is an inevitability. I have accepted that I will miss out on things all the time due to my schedule. And since my only other alternative is to stop playing, and therefore always miss everything, I acknowledge that I will never be at everything.
Or even many things.
So, I suppose I donāt even engage in the fight.
For me, an explanation details why a person did something as an excuse details why a person should not suffer the full brunt of the consequences of their actions.
