I'm not often big on these kinds of games but a friend got me a copy of it with the threat of play this or suffer. And I'm recommending it to people who like story-driven puzzle mysteries ala the Vanishing of Ethan Carter and other such genre games. It's a beautiful game and I've really enjoyed what I've played through so far.

RE: Firewatch
I can't say it is like Myst. Then again I've not played Myst since I was maybe 17 so my ability to compare is flawed. What I can tell you is that it is a first person narrative game that's got a pretty compelling story, some great voice acting, and great landscaping. I even like the sound track which fits the atmosphere quite well.
Hrm. I could compare it somewhat to Soma? Though far less horror and far more mystery. And set in the backdrop of the forests of the Rocky Mountains in Wyoming.

RE: Battletech Tabletops and Mechwarrior Online?
@Big-Daddy-Amin
Thinking about it, Harebrained Schemes will be releasing a new Battletech/Mechwarrior focused game this year too. You could just wait.

Fuck this writer's block. Hey Self-from-a-year-ago! Remember how you have this dream of having a writing career? Guess what! It doesn't ever happen if you don't write. Jesus, I feel like someone put a Ban vs Creative Writing on me or something. Oh, hey. Remember how I was going to take ~a year and write a 90k paranormal romance to submit to silhouette contest? Yeeeeeah. Half that year is gone already and we've got maybe 5k words written.
bashes her head into a wall
Dig out old logs and adapt one of those to your story then most of it is already written for you.

Stopped RPing and MUSHing in an attempt to break bad habits..
Angry at bad habits, and angry that I can't RP right now.
Feeling the withdrawals from MU*ing, bad... It's a thing. =|
A thing that's making me suuuuper irritable.I feel this too. I haven't RP'd since RfK closed. I want to. But my addiction transference has me hooked on Guild Wars 2 - where I joined an RP guild and that is weird.

RE: 7th Sea Second Edition

What do you find are mods that would make the game world more "interesting"? I can decide if I think it's interesting, but I can't start without recommendations. Start from the heart.
I have, myself, found nothing on Nexusmods that I find interesting except the weather and darkness mods. The dialogue mod is also a must-have, because the game suffers from Mass Effect Syndrome where what you select doesn't represent what you'll say. A bizarre decision, to be sure.
These are the mods I've most recently found that I enjoy the most, besides the winter weatherscape mod and the dialogue mod:
Game Alteration/Quality of Life Mods:
Hardcore Mode - http://www.nexusmods.com/fallout4/mods/10399/?
Satellite World Map - http://www.nexusmods.com/fallout4/mods/8989/?
Companions V2 - http://www.nexusmods.com/fallout4/mods/8975/?
For Player Settlement Management:
Where Did I Put That? - http://www.nexusmods.com/fallout4/mods/10271/?
Build A Castle - http://www.nexusmods.com/fallout4/mods/9044/?
I saw a mod that puts Bioshock design textures into the game from Infinity, but I have not played with it. To do a real flying settlement you'd probably need the mod that removes the ceiling caps at some of the settlement locations.
Cosmetic Appeal:
After The Fallout Texture Overhaul - http://www.nexusmods.com/fallout4/mods/7803/?
The Rebel Clothing Set - http://www.nexusmods.com/fallout4/mods/10382/?
NCE Ranger Veteran Armor - http://www.nexusmods.com/fallout4/mods/9034/?
New Weapon:
M9 Pistol - http://www.nexusmods.com/fallout4/mods/8421/?
M9 Pistol Grips- http://www.nexusmods.com/fallout4/mods/8792/?
I have played with a few other of the new weapon mods out there - a gatling laser rifle for example, and a couple of other New Vegas imported rifles but this one is the best overall to me because it makes better use of my horde of .38 ammo laying around.

Finally got around to the Supergirl/Flash crossover ep. Really enjoyed it. Makes me curious why CBS hasn't announced a renewal of SG yet.

RE: Good TV
Supergirl is being chased by the cancellation bear. While dubious at first I've come to enjoy the program and the Flash crossover was well done.

That was a good first episode Cobalt. It was entertaining to watch and you chose a good game to try and do a series on if you continue. I even tossed you your first Like. Keep it up!

@Gingerlily I read -- man, it's hard to remember now. At least four or five of them. There's so many now, and yeah, they're so long. I think it's the last one or two that I haven't read. The show's a delight, though.
In way sadder news, Agent Carter got cancelled and I am heartbroken FOREVER.
So did Galavant.
I don't know what either Agent Carter or Galavant are but if one of your shows got cancelled @Coin it seems like you should try a new one! Maybe...Outlander!
Galavant was a medival comedy musical that you would probably love if you weren't obstinate and tried things I suggest.
Galavant was different and fun. It was a sincerely great show that no one watched because it was different. And holy crap can Timothy Omundson sing.

RE: Good or New Movies Review
Sadly I thought BMvsSupes was a train wreck of a movie. It was like they tried to squish 5 movies into one telling. DC will have to set a different tone from Marvel and not try to play catch-up in two films.
In other news, Idris Elba as Roland the Gunslinger for the upcoming Dark Tower trilogy? I can get behind this. I think he's a fantastic actor and I've enjoyed a majority of what he's been in.
In other other news, I think an all female cast remake of Ocean's 11 could hold much more potential, and go over better than the all-female cast remake of Ghostbusters. Casting and treatment of the source material will be key.

My bank changed their post and processing times without notice. This makes me angry since money usually available Friday afternoon won't be available until Saturday. Sonuvabitch.

RE: RL Anger
Then they go on and on about how there's a wide world out there and it's the summer! Just go out and have some fun!
They don't say this where I live. Where I live, the news tells people not to go out due to allergens that are so bad that folks who have never been diagnosed with seasonal allergies collapse in unconscious, mucus-leaking heaps.
Fuck you, southwestern Ohio.
True story guys. SW Ohio is balls.

RE: RL Anger
... this may sound bad, but can I get some suggestions? I feel like I need a good cry.
This first 5 minutes of Up ought to do it.
Or the opening sequence of The Last of Us. You can find it on YouTube.
That. That was fucking heart wrenching.

RE: Do you believe in paranormal things?
My dad is a non-believer of all things paranormal. He thinks the ghost hunter shows are kind of dumb and fake. And he doesn't think things like UFOs and aliens are real. But he once shared a story with a few of my friends and myself that was pretty chilling. I have not been able to get the story out of him again since he first told it - which he did while stoned. But I have had time to ask his brothers and his sister about it and the variety of reactions I got from it, along with the 'Yes this happened' style of responses has always left ME wondering about such things.
Here's what he told us:
My dad was 14 when this happened. So that would make it 69. His family lived down in Felicity Ohio and his grandmother had just passed away. She had a farmhouse with a couple acres of land that she had bought in the late 30s and it had quite a few after-construction additions placed onto it. They were moving in to the house that summer and for the first few nights things were fine.
That's when they started to hear the crying sounds. Particularly his sisters who slept in rooms on the southwest facing of the house. The way he described these sounds was the kind of sounds cats make - when catterwalling, and how those can sound like a baby crying. And that's what they thought it was. A cat making noises at night.
The chilling part is that the back porch on the house, he said, was made of concrete. And it had become weather damaged over the decades and his dad decided a couple weeks after moving in to demolish it and build something with treated wood. So they were hammering the concrete down and they discovered encased in the concrete one of those large cast iron cooking pots that is meant to hang over a fire. And when they looked inside they found scraps of clothing and the bones of two babies; this confirmed by a local doctor who came out to the house with the Felicity cop they reported it to.
The cop wasn't at all interested in pursuing something that was clearly decades old and he let my dad's mother and father bury the bones on the edge of the land under a tree and they got a local priest to say some kind words.
After that day the crying sounds stopped.
Granted in text it may not be as creepy but the way my dad told it, it was definitely creepy.
